Duab Essentials does not have any instructions but they are a collection of brushes and one is an Asset. Go to the Brushes panel and select Import Brushes from the far right button drop down while in the Brushes panel. Select all the brushes and import. One is imported for the Drawing Persona the rest are in Pixel Persona. Then import the Daub Papers using the Assets panel Import for All option or just Import if it isn't there. You may have to go to View -> Studio -> Assets to show the Assets Panel. The Grade UI Kit -> UI Sheets you just drag and drop which ever one into an open document or into Affinity designer. They are pre-made templates I guess. I don't know what to do with them or how to keep them inside AD. I am new to the program so...

Unfortunately it does not work with my Lexmark X83 Printer / Scanner. If I had an older model or next model up I would be ok but vuescan just doesn't support my older scanner. I have a HP all in one also and it comes with a driver and scanner software that works with Windows 10 though it does not do OCR. ;(

can not find the Scan-Dialog in File Menu
Terry44 replied to Julius**'s topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
Yes, it's confusing because they have instructions in the help file on how to do this. I thought it was just not implemented yet as the programs are still in Beta but guess it is not going to happen at all so.. Posted in that other thread asking to remove the info from the help docs. -
I use Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I no longer have Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and don't really care to go back to them any time soon. Once the website mockups are created in Affinity Designer what do you use to go from graphical layout to finished website? I found a software called Pinegrow Web Editor at https://pinegrow.com/ It seems decent from the screen shots, I haven't tried it yet though. In CC there is a software called Muse which I used to create working site mockups in, though I didn't really have a good way to create a purely graphical site and then convert it to html and css. I hated using photoshop and mainly used Fireworks and then hand coded when not using Muse come as close as I could to my hand drawn mockups I drew out on piece of paper or in Fireworks. In the video I think by Ash where he shows how to use AD as a UI / UX designer is good but how do you actually go from visual to working website? Mainly I have just been doing it by hand except where the JS and CSS got too hard to do it that way and I used Muse but I don't have access to those Adobe software anymore. What is your work flow in this regard? p.s. I looked at the web editor from Serif but it seems it is REALLY out dated so isn't anything I personally would be using myself.

Affinity Publisher
Terry44 replied to properso's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I am coming from Adobe as a user so I am going the other way and though I may not be able to get features I need now I am willing to wait to an extent but I am also looking at other competitor products so if not Affinity Publisher then PagePlus X8 or Corel or some thing else. -
Affinity Publisher

Will it have OCR capability? That is important to me. -
Thank you for your response. As Obtusity said in Fireworks, the program I was using, you can save vector in PNG and it is still editable when you open the file. I also have other programs that saves everything in a bitmap file so you can't edit vectors again. I have a program called Clip Paint Studio that is also hi-bred allowing for manipulating bitmap and vector in same file but once saved out the vector part is flat. I am used to Fireworks I guess but I no longer have Adobe Creative Cloud so I can't open or edit my fireworks png's anymore other than as flat file and FW is long in the tooth anyways compared to Affinity and other programs out now.

I am a windows 10 user and have other software that allows to work with vectors but the saved file is in bitmap or flattened image format and no longer a vector graphic. When saving the file to jpg, png etc... is the file a vector image or bitmap? If you have a vector image in whatever file format and you resize the edges are still crisp but if it is bitmap the edges are blurred. Just curious how Affinity saves the end file if you are working with vectors. Also if you use the bitmap and vector tools in the same file and save it are the vector aspects still crisp or is the entire image now bitmap? Distortions when resizing image in say css or in a image viewer etc..

I can't find PPX8 on serif.com for sale and checking Amazon it is identical price to PPX9 so unless PPX9 is a free upgrade then I would be paying more for both versions than 9 on it's own. If you can direct me to where PPX8 is on sale for less and let me know the upgrade price to PPX9 that would be appreciated. I can't see an upgrade price unless I buy PPX first, or at least I have not found it, am I looking in wrong place on serif.com?

Is there a date on the Affinity Publisher? I am looking at the current product PagePlus X9 for PDF management and creation for newsletters and ebook creation. I assume I have to use something else to write the content in. I will install the Designer Beta for windows and the Photo beta for windows and see what they are like. Is the windows price for these two products going to be same as the current Mac version? I have a few other questions but will send email to support if I can find the contact info for those. Thanks.

Took a look at the details of webplus x8 and it seems to be an outdated software, talking about IE9 and windows 8 compatible. Is there going to be an affinity version of a web designer for windows? Seems the Affinity softwares are the professional version of the software, a new direction for the company seems like. Good, I just need something now though. Hmmm...

Took a look at the other serif products for windows. Is affinity designer a replacement also for the drawplus x8 product which is an illustrator type of software right? I understand now that AD is a fireworks, photoshop replacement for the graphical design mockups. I am a freelance webdesign, developer but focus mostly on internet based websites and portals. Are the serif products, webplus, pageplus professional quality or should I look elsewhere? I am replacing Adobe's Creative Cloud software.

Ok, so this is a mockup software then and not actually for creating fully functional website themselves. Is there a tool from serif that can take the layout created in Designer and create a functional website from it? The html and css, javascript ? I want a visual designer that I can design a website in and then turn around and export it out and put it on the internet, anything like that available? Do you have suggestions for doing something like this? Thanks.

Hi, Sorry if this is listed somewhere or in a thread I should of seen but I am interested in creating actual html and css based web pages and not graphical interfaces for mobile apps or software. Can Affinity Designer do this? I see from the intro video that there is mention of using it for web design but what exactly is that referring to? Html & CSS? I like the look of the product and also the Photo version as well but I need a tool to replace several Adobe Creative Cloud applications and wondering if this is the right one for me or not? I have windows 10 Pro 64 bit on an older desktop computer as well as a basic Dell laptop that also has Windows 10 64 bit on it, is there a installation license that allows for multiple computers or just one? If this is wrong place to ask this please move it to the right place in the forums. Thanks, Terry
