  1. Nothing new about this in version 1.7. Sigh ! Well, maybe in version 1.8 next year ? As I already explained (see here), adding this feature would take a few hours of coding at most (for a slow developer).
  2. Hi, Thanks for the nice enhancements. However, sorry to see that the request about workspace management discussed in the threads mentioned below has been again ignored. Moreover, my workspace has been again destroyed during the upgrade. Since this already happened during the 2 preceding upgrades, I had a backup of C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0\Workspaces\Photo.
  3. Hi, This has been already discussed here and elsewhere and it seems that many users are missing this feature that is really simple to implement since the code for saving the workspace workspace already exists in AP. Just a few buttons and/or menus are missing in the UI, plus a naming mechanism. I'm not aware of any major image editing software not allowing this.
  4. If I go to the Affinity Store, open my account and go to the Download and Product Keys page, the proposed download is 1.6.3.103. So I installed it. Nothing on this page is telling me that it is a beta version. If I open the About box, it says 1.6.3.103 and it doesn't tell me either that it's a beta version. I have a firewall but it never has been in the way when it comes to update downloads. All my apps are updating normally. Should I open a specific port ? All of this is very, very confusing.
  5. That's the problem I'm describing : this never happened. I'm not talking about version 1.6.3 (I understand it's not fully released) but about previous versions.
  6. Hi, I'm still unclear about how to update Affinity Photo for Windows. When I first asked this question last year, I have been told that the program was supposed to update itself (or propose the download when a new version was available). It never did so. Also, the program doesn't have any "Check for update..." command like any other application. It should. If for some reason, the automatic check/download doesn't work, one should be able to force the update check. What did I miss ? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, Version 1.6 is here and still no way to save workspaces (unless I missed something obvious). Moreover, the update destroyed my existing workspace layout. I do appreciate.
  8. Hi, Trial versions of Affinity Photo for Windows were released long after the Mac versions. Now an update has been released for the Mac but not for Windows. Serif should be aware that Windows users may feel they are considered as second class customers. Be cautious. Other software editors always release their Windows and Mac versions simultaneously. My two cents...
  9. Thanks for the information. So, it's another font problem. Maybe a font available on the Mac and not on Windows. I see that przemoc is running Windows, like me. Are people using a Mac seeing this problem ?
  10. Hi, It's probably a font issue. When converting the PDF to a Doc file using the online Nitro converter, the font is replaced, probably because the original font cannot be found. Since the document has been created with Affinity Designer, it probably uses a font installed by Affinity Designer. My two cents...
  11. Hi, I'm wondering why Serif are shooting themselves in the foot with this trial version issue. I'm currently advertising Affinity Photo for Windows in my photo club but no one will ever blindly buy a license if they can't try the software before. Since the full version exists and works, I don't understand, as a former developer, why it takes so much time to release a trial version. This is really beyond me...
  12. It seems that you should update your knowledge about Windows. Anyway, we are off topic. We should stop this discussion.
  13. Well, it seems that these days Windows users have less problems with graphics applications than Mac users. The Nik Software plugins are a good example. :P Greetings from Fontainebleau, France.
  14. Maybe but what if a user wants to create several workspaces in order to adapt to different workflows ? Look at Photoshop, DxO Optics Pro, Capture One, and many others. All these apps allow a user to save multiple workspaces and to select one when needed. This is standard behavior. And this is easy to code (I know, I did it for the applications I have developed). And what if the UI is inadvertently reset ? One has to rebuild it from scratch.
  15. Hi, The Beta Support section has separate sections for Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer and the Mac and Windows version are also separated but strangely enough, it's not the case for the Affinity Support section. Things are becoming very confusing here since users are using the term Affinity for both products. We now have a Mac and a Windows version for each product and, at least for Affinity Photo, both versions are at this time different. Many posters do not specify whether they are posting about the Mac or the Windows version. I vote for a new forum structure. Anyone supporting this idea ?
  16. Hi Dev Team, Could you please publish an afmacro file containing the correct macros with the correct names. Thanks.
  17. HI, I'm using the official English Windows version (1.5.0.45) under an English version of Windows 10 and I still have this strange naming problem, even after a Library reset.
  18. In some applications, when you're not connected, checking for updates may freeze the program for a while. That's why, usually, there's an option to disable this.
  19. Hi, I don't see any way to save my UI setup in AP Windows. Am I missing something ? Thanks.
  20. Hi, I don't see any option to activate update notifications (and download) in Affinity Photo for Windows. This is very surprising. Did I miss something ? (Windows version). Thanks.
  21. Yes, but it's a design bug, obviously :) . Unless someone can explain why it's necessary to tie the active state and the opened/closed state ?
