  1. Honestly - I don't see any problem but in the video the functionality is exactly as I would expect. Just change the end from a round edge to a flat line and you see.
  2. This is a misunderstanding. I only wanted to make sure, if I download this very beta dated 2017, I'l get he current one on my Mac
  3. is this: Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.5.2 - Beta 3)really the last beta? I'm confused as the date of the posting dates back to 2017
  4. Your story is very similar to mine - I'm also appalled by Adobes subscription model taking the already slim financial spine out of small papers.
  5. In that very case a macro has more functionality then a simple template as the automatization factor with a macro is higher then with a sole template - basically a well designed macro may include a template and cover at the same time the rest of the task.
  6. What I have "from normally good informed folks" overheard is that the Affinity Publisher beta may be (if everything works out well as the Affinity iPad app has most probably priority and human resources are scare) ready first half of 2017
  7. Here you are: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/3723-arrow-brush/?hl=arrow
  8. There are tons of good videos to be found on youtube besides the in-house videos as well. A excellent print Workbook I highly recommend to you is available from Serife to get you swiftly on track. If one is willing to learn then he will master the programs AD & AP in a week or so. I have done so myself under production pressure (my whole production team went sick due to a flu and I had to do it as a one man show for eight sick folks) with X-Press, Photoshop, inDesign, AP&AD and more. If on thinks he only has to buy a fiddle to be able to play like Yehudi Menuhin, then he will be up for a surprise
  9. Because they are so short as instructive that no matter of individual qualification anybody can follow each of them and profit from by simply repeating them a few times until securely digested. There is no "instant Mozart" neither "learn French in 10 Minutes" - you have to go though most of the excellent videos. YES - through most of them - that seem hard but even semi professional photo editing is no simple table dance. If you do then you will be rewarded. Without dedication, effort and willing to sweat (learn) you better stay away altogether to start with.
  10. Simply set up a brush with the desired arrows and your done. That's not rocket science
  11. I watched the respective tutorial video on http://vimeo.com/192599221 but I'm looking for applying the result multiplied to a wider area - is there a semi automatic feature I have overlooked in the video?
  12. Thank you - your right - I tried again and it worked. Good to know that the mistake was on me. No, and thats most important, I understand (through my mistake) now the functionality. PS: The short (!) Affinity in-house videos are excellent indeed. Pls more of this!
  13. Minute 5:50 - I have followed the videos instructions painstakingly . Can you do it?
  14. I cannot get the motion blurr as shown in the second part of the Affinity Photo in-house video here: to come out as expected. Something with the gradient masking seems to go north It's a bug or me?
  15. This option is actually available in AP. Just select the color range and your done. Thats similar to ON1 pretty sufficient for amateur use or when the color differences between to select and selected areas are strong enough to easily be determined . Anyhow - if thats not the case the mentioned alternatives are aimed at professional purposes as no program in this very milky way is able to determine very subtle color differences in a picture so manual work is essential for professional output.
  16. Just use http://www.autotracer.orgfor vector creation- if you squeeze the setup a bit you get quite professional usable results - and it's free.
  17. Look at the Affinity in house video tutorials - that's the fastest way to get on track.
  18. Excellent - exactly on the mark! Thanks you for describing what is needed and expected for journalists as well as designers, publishers (and don't forget the correctors woking on text and correct placement of pictures to the right text) alike!
