Besides Vimeo - there are literally tons of very instructive videos covering Affinity Designer as well as Affinity Photo in different qualities to be found on Youtube

Thank you for your swift answer.
It does not matter, at least for me, I was just curious if I may have overlooked also that :)

When selecting a preview picture placed from shutterstock as requested by the "help" file from within AP I fail to receive the popup of the mentioned "Open Stock URL / context toolbar" e.g. the URL leading me back to the shutterstock website for buying the photo.
Have I overlooked something?
Also - how may I enter another stock photo site besides shutterstock into the selection?

Hi Brunzenstein,
Are you trying to make a stencil for spray painting like the one attached?
C
Yes

Hi Brunzenstein,
If you open the image in Affinity Photo then go to Filters > Colour > Erase White Paper you should be left with just the black spray painted parts of the image :)
C
I meant a new cutout from a another given photo

Why does that make me think of helmets? :P
Because you don't understand the inherent eloquent meaning in French language.
-
The quality of the videos provided is as usually extremely well executed and prepared with dedication & love
Chapeau!

The video is easy enough to follow without knowing German language as thankfully the key presses are visualized.
Anyhow - this video is a lonely gem, a true diamond in a see of elbow warm ones as it shows a very clever workflow and nifty use nobody has thought of in the gazillions of wannabe youtube videos for AD until now.
Worth watching the two parts even 10 times.

Yes @verysame. Thanks - That way it should work.
The squares and lines would have to be fitted individually with shadows as well and then it may look nice.

something like this? :D
I'm flat on my back in shock - how did you do that?
-
Indeed. Rendering a new one but in Affinity Designer. Look at the strokes the lady is drawn with.
Close to perfection- done manually
-
-
It doesn't fit yet. It's some manual work. Editing perspective distortion in AP, export as new file and import as new fill in AD. :(
It was my logical mistake.
True enough. The basic problem is solved that way as the end result in Affinity Photo is done.
No re import needed.
-
Problem is, how does that fit with the symbols functionality?
-
I'm missing a a perspective distortion - its this somehow possible?
-
Thanks a lot rocketdrive!
Your a big help to the community.
How simple that is (before I couldn't figure out) after having a good hard look at your file.

In the second one (Chevron pattern) I've saved the history with the file so that you can see my workflow. The compressed zip file you'll find here: https://mensch-mesch...rn.afdesign.zip
This link gives a 404 error message
The point I did noch see is how one can distort the symbols in a way to mockup a real world side view like:.

Nice indeed

I made a partial, rough version of the 3D scene. It is absolutely doable. The triangular grid and robust snapping will help a lot. Clever placing of gradients and gaussian blur can help with lighting effects.
Even thought for this specific last MagicaVoxel (thanks for the hint to this excellent free program) seems the right tool for this very task, please share the file so we can follow this up and work alongside your idea in Affinity Designer.
Thanks in advance
