It was when I was adding a square (rectangle). I could add it but when I created a second one I was unable to select the first with the the pointer tool. I had to go to the layers panel and select it there to edit it. Once it was “selected” I was able to make changes

I was also having issues when adding new elements to the blank pages. I could select them in the layers panel but not from the page directly

Has anyone else experienced continual crashing when trying to use the text frame tool? I have an 8mb document that was created in the previous version (I am currently using the latest version 1.7.0.145). I am trying to add some text to a blank page and every time I click on the text frame tool and try to create the text box, Publisher crashes. I have tried re-saving the document but with no success. I still have version 1.7.0.133 on a MacBook air, however, this version is unable to open the file, as the error message states the file version is not supported by this version
