  1. Thank you @Patrick Connor. Makes perfect sense. Yeah, I rather add new tool then have my customization reset.
  2. So... Why this tool is hidden by default exactly? What is the thought process there? I fail to see reason for it. It is a great tool btw.
  3. I just thought about it - they say they worked on it 15 years, right? Well, maybe they worked on tracing software for 15 years, sure, but I seriously doubt that use of so called "AI" for it dates so far back. Recent boom of this technology allows people to jump on the bandwagon and I am almost sure that their ai version took lot less to achieve. I am not minimizing their achievement, but I would shave from this 15 years like... 14
  4. Yup, I gave it a try today - and trust me, I am not easily impressed, ESPECIALLY when something has "AI" in name . But it is REALLY good. Even if you need to fix something by hand its really easy because the result is very clean. This is ai I can stand behind. Really helpful. Hope devs can take a look at it, just.. you know. As point of reference. @postmadesign this is not going to be free for ever either. They clearly stated its free while in beta. In FAQ they say that beta fill end "Probably in in Q3 or Q4 of 2023". They didnt say what price it will have in the end. For sure good tracing inside of Designer would be wonderful. Just now the bar has been raised significantly...
  5. @StrixCZ And you obviously did not read how this thread started... Theres hardly anything complicated about pseudo AI (pseudo because its not artificial intelligence, but this acronym sells better then "machine learning"). You dont have to explain it thank you very much. I was referring to fact that instead of jumping on AI wagon as soon as possible we could first take care of things that are missing from the traditional tools. I dont mind if so called "AI" will be used internally for tracing. Or if Photo gets some tool for better content aware fill. I am not blindly against pseudo AI. Just against wasting resources for absolute GARBAGE GIMMICKS - like "now you can generate dress", "now you can add a smile and turn head 5 degrees on photo", "now you can transfer makeup" or use photo of a palm to make a fake shadow thats basically outline of the palm filled with black... Come on mate, all this are useless gimmicks. I dont know about you but I have ZERO needs for transferring make ups and generating dresses in day to day job... In all the stuff I saw from Adobe I was impressed by ONE. That "ai" tool that automatically was recognizing shapes in 3D and deforming texture accordingly. That was cool. Rest is bunch of toys for... I honestly dont know for who. And that includes their recent picture generator and generator for letters... All looks like toys made for kindergarten attendants not professional designers.
  6. I hope Affinity team will not waste time on AI and just keep on improving tools itself. And I mean both - AI generation and protection against AI. Its just a waste of resources. I would rather see good automatic tracing in Designer rather then some AI useless bloat just because everybody are doing it, fascinated like kids in circus for the first time. "Look mom, a picture!". Thats why I love Affinity in a first place - its not bloated with garbage.
  7. I changed that option by accident and I was going crazy why I am selecting elements inside of the group instead of whole group. Your post @klim09saved me for loosing rest of my sanity. Thank you mate.
  8. I am grateful for some alternative but ultimately we would love to see that inside of Affinity. WEBP format is supported, batch job is there - all we need is adding that webp format as an option in batch job. Would really be very helpful.
  9. So let me get that straight - two years ago you made a logo in illustrator and now Affinity should change the way it works based on your... how to call it... "expertise"? 😶
  10. Same here. I was actually surprised why WEBP isnt there. Please add this format to batch job export options.
  11. I was exactly the same but I have to tell you - except for psychological effect there is absolutely nothing wrong with MSIX. Initially there was a problem with 3rd party programs connecting to Photo but it was solved with tiny file provided by devs. Since then I could not say a difference in having it one way or another. It works all the same.
  12. Thank you! I was manually filling it, this helps a lot.
  13. I dont know how it works on ipad but you seem to have 3 curves there. I am talking about single curve that has "arrows" on the ends added in options of the stroke, not as separate curves. Sorry if thats how it is visualized on the ipad, I only use tablet for reading so I wouldn't know
  14. When we use expand stroke on curve with "arrow" (or any other shape) on the ends it results in weird holes - but only on the end of the curve. Beginning is expanded as expected. Here is screenshot to illustrate problem. Designer 2.0.4 on Windows 10.
  15. I used to have avast, then it started to become bloated with some nonsense and I moved to free Bitdefender. But my son is using Windows Defender and both out machines are fine.
  16. I'm sorry I just saw it. I am attaching zipped crash reports, hope it helps! BTW thank you for 2.0.3! Great stuff! reports.zip
  17. As in description. To recreate problem turn on macro recording, make some selection and go to "refine". After using refine deselect and save the macro. Then run saved macro on different picture. If it will not crash try batch job using that macro. Every time when it comes to using "refine" in macro it instantly crushes 100% of cases for me. I can record it just fine - it crushes when I am using saved macro with refine in it.
  18. One of the things I appreciate the most is that I can quickly identify type of a layer. It was driving me nuts when I tried to copy selected part of the picture to another layer but it was copying whole layer because I forgot to rasterize. Now I see what I am working with instantly, so for me its a great change.
  19. Just to add my voice to the choir - I really dislike new export panel. It was so much easier to click on big icon on the top to choose format... Plus it was really pleasant to see all that colorful icons. Instead of that now we have... small, soul-less, grey drop down list. Are we Adobe here or what? And preview widow. PLEASE make it optional. Pretty please! Other other that - so far so good for me.
  20. Format icons were so much quicker to use then drop-down menu... I really liked previous export dialog much more.
  21. I agree - I also keep notes in the old school notebook where I can freely scrible/write/draw. Some things does not change no matter the so called "progress". In many aspects it feels like regress. Good thing about digital is that you can backup information somewhere "in the cloud" and its harder to loose - specially if you are traveling a lot, changing places you live etc.
  22. @debraspicher I might start using Publisher more after reading your post. I am making lots of notes and tips for different software I use and for now its OneNote. But one massive, continuous page that I have to scroll down with barely any order becomes very hard to use. So thanks for sharing!
  23. So once more I bought just whole package even if I dont really need Publisher - to support Affinity. Pixologic was giving away updates of ZBrush for free to existing users for over 2 decades. Today zbrush is not called Pixologic ZBrush but Maxon ZBrush. Pixologic is no more. People would gladly pay now for Pixologic to stay independent but its too late. Generosity has its limits. I don't want the same happen to Affinity. I want it to stay in hands of its creators, don't want to use "Adobe Affinity" in a few years or something. No thank you. I rather pay now and support it now before its too late. And lets be honest here - even full price is ridiculously low for next few years of updates and more then worth it. So lets stop whining and lets get to work I just opened 195 pages pdf in Designer. Took literally second to load. Love that software.
  24. So far I havent got any crash. I havent worked extensively on V2 yet, but no, no crashes so far.
