I have just moved from a windows 10 system to an iMac, so have purchased all three Affinity programs for my new machine. I have been working on a family history book in Publisher on the Windows 10 machine, but when I load the files in Publisher on my iMac to my dismay I discover that the Calibri light font I have been using is not allowed on my Apple system (seems it is owned by Microsoft!). Can anyone tell me if there a suitable alternative font I can use that will not throw all my formatting into disarray?

Hi Baldor, The object inside your document has a minus value for the Stroke Width which absolutely should not be possible - this is why it is failing when exporting. If you replace this with a non negative value your object will export. Do you have ANY idea how you made this object or got it into this state? As I mentioned this should not be possible! Thanks Hi Sean, As I remember the bad graphic came about when I was copying and pasting sections of an earlier version of the family history book I have been compiling. The object was originally created from the shapes that are available in the Tools panel. I used them to put alongside text to point to a photo or image that the text related to. Rather than create four graphics (ie up, down, right and left) I created just one but used the rotate function as required. So I had stuff coming from a publication created in Affinity version 1.7 being copied and pasted in to the 1.8 version. That's about as much as I can remember about how it came about. As Matt says setting the line width to a positive value clears the problem. Great to hear the code has been changed to stop it happening. Just glad to get to the bottom of that little problem. Still great software, just love using it. Baldor Conehead

I have posted this elsewhere, but I thought it might be of interest. I have been having the same problem (export failures to PDF) with some of my files using Affinity Publisher 1.8 for Windows (10). I did a step by step rebuild of one of my files testing export to PDF as I went. All went well until I included a graphic pasted from the misbehaving file. The publication I was rebuilding then had an error in exporting. I deleted the graphic from that publication and it exported OK. I re-inserted the graphic and the export failed. I did this several times each time with the same result. I removed the graphic from the original misbehaving file and it exported OK. I have attached a test file I created with some explanatory text in it along with the dodgy graphic. See you if have the same experience as me. Wonder what it is about the graphic? TEST 1.afpub

I have been having problems exporting to PDF with some of my publications and by a process of elimination have isolated a graphic that causes an error when included in the file and does not when deleted. I have a attached the file so others can see if they have the same experience. It is a publication file created from a leaflet template I have been using. I have added some text to explain my experience and included the graphic which was copied and pasted from another publication of mine. When I delete the graphic the export works and when it is present the export fails. I have conducted this exercise several times with the same results. I am using Windows 10 Affinity Publisher 1.8. Publisher 1.8.0 will not delete pages
Baldor replied to Alan Douglas's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
In my post say 'apparent' freeze when deleting a master page because that's how it appears. It may well be paddling away under the water unseen to human eye, but there is no notice saying something like 'reordering data - this could take a while - go and make tea'. I confess I have not waited ten or even five minutes to see if it springs back into life. And the apparent freeze seems to be a bit random using the same publication file. I am leaving redundant master pages in page for now. I was just experimenting with creating a template. I have not tried deleting pages in the body of the publication yet to see if I have the same experience. I'll post if there is anything to add. -

I have also experienced an apparent freeze of the program when deleting a master page in a new document opened using a template file. I duplicated the existing master page then deleted it. This caused an apparent freeze. This is a file with no data in it. Using task manager to close the program I find that if I say yes to restoring an unsaved file it is responsive again without the deleted master page. I have repeated this several times. Sometimes there is no problem and other times it freezes. It seems to be a quite erratic error. I have attached the file to see if anyone else experiences the same thing.
