  1. I opened another topic but I think this is the same problem so I add my previous report here as well. I found out that Affinity Designer has a strange cap in the FPS (like stuttering or low FPS) moving objects around. I have a 144hz monitor and in Affinity Designer 2 the FPS seems to be 50 or even lower for example when I'm dragging a circle or even when I'm adjusting the size of a form... It is uncomfortable because it seems as if the whole program is going slow or with spikes, but it is not the case. This was better in Affinity Designer 1, it was not that snappy, but it was less noticeable than in AD2 I tried changing the Renderer for WARP and turning on and off the Hardware Acceleration (obviously resetting the program in each change) and nothing works, low fps at dragging or moving objects around is still there. Windows 11 22H2 AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 32GB Ram GPU NVidia 3060Ti Thanks!
  2. Hello! First of all, congratulations for this big launching! I found out that Affinity Designer has a strange cap in the FPS moving objects around. I have a 144hz monitor and in Affinity Designer 2 the FPS seems to be 60 or even lower for example when I'm dragging a circle or even when I'm adjusting the size of a form... 3. Yep! it was just that case. Once i zoomed out, the curves appear way off of my canvas. On Pixel Persona I couldn't find the lines anyway. I just uninstalled Wacom Drivers and Installed the last ones and it fixed the problem but now the lines I'm getting are the same as the previous versions... the lines are not smooth in any case. Hopefully you guys can fix this detail eventually :)
  4. So I installed Affinity Designer... I created a new document and I changed to pixel persona... I tryed to draw and no line was displayed... just the assistant poped out saying that a new raster layer was created... but no line is being rendered. I checked the layers, the color but no problems there, every thing is as it should. I switched to Draw Persona and tried to draw something with the Vector Brush Tool... and nothing is being displayed on the artboard (in this case but this is not working with or without artboards involved) but funny thing is that on the layers panel the curves are being created. (Screenshot attatched) Another rare thing is that if I try to make exactly the same with my mouse every line I draw dont matter Draw or Pixel Persona works normally. So TL;DR Wacom Intuos isn't working at all on this beta... but it's working normally on Clip Studio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchbook and even on the stable release of Affinity Designer (1.5.2.58). Windows Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393 Intuos Pro Small Model PTH-451
  5. I used inner and outer glows... also I used gradients inserted in shapes and little shapes with dark colors using the transparency tool! By the way... I thought "Why is there a transparency tool separated from the gradient tool" but I find it useful after all :) I saw at the road map and I noticed that "multiple fills and strockes per shape" so maybe in THAT case transparency tool will be a little less useful, but the most important thing is... I followed this free tutorial on skillshare :) https://www.skillshare.com/classes/Vector-Illustration-Design-a-Playful-Character-Using-Geometric-Shapes/1832339814/classroom/discussions?via=user-profile&enrolledRedirect=1 Oh yeah! I just tested and that's how you do it, thanks to you Matt! That's true! Thanks! I'm so used to the Illustrators way that I totally missed this feature :)
  6. Wow! thanks! I will try those brushes right away! Hope the lines will be fixed on the next versions
  7. Very nice work :D a puntual question... Did you tweak something special in the brushes? I'm using an IntuosPro but the lines I get are not that smooth... Look this: Left affinity designer and right clip studio... And even trying a tool "Lazy Nezumi Pro" to smooth the lines I draw I get that result.
  8. After almost 10 years of using mainly Illustrator... I'm trying really hard to get used to Affinity Designer. I really miss to be able to select nodes from different objects and to move handlers of a node symmetrically... but even tho I find that some features of AD are really sweet and really engourages me to keep learning. I'm really looking fordward to the 1.6 update :D and I'm glad I bought this nice software.
  9. Oh yeah, that was the problem. Thanks! So an Arboard is different than a layer... so what is a layer exactly? and if it is above the Artboard why doesn't apply the hierarchy? Well... It's handy that Artboards work that way after all I think.
  10. Just bought Affinity Designer a few days ago and I have this problem: Even when I have a layer locked and I'm working on an upper layer... the paths goes right on to the locked layer and I have to manually move this object to the current layer I was working on. On the image you can see that the selected path is on the locked layer and I started doing that line on the upper layer... it's annoying... There is a way to avoid this? I tryed to restart Affinity Designer... Create another document but the problem stills there so I'm guessing this is a behavior and not a bug. Thanks :D
  11. Yeah... about that. Besides Flash is getting obsolete... AnimateCC allows you to export the games to HTML5. One of the major reasons Flash/Animate CC is still being used to make games is because there is no good alternative for the potential of the tool. Most of the "HTML5" "WebGL" engines out there doesn't have level editors and you must relay on software as "Tiled" that is not that versatile as making your game on right on to Flash. Even with Unity exporting for Web you have no way of debug any possible problem once your game is running at the navigator which is a Boomer... and you have a 14Mb file only for an "Hello World". You have options as Construct and GameMaker but the fact that Flash can work directly with vectos is a huge adventage.
  12. I think that depends on the developer and how he is gonna use the images that you are generating. Flash/AnimateCC it self is an animation tool so if the programmer is used to animate UI elements you will need to import the assets from affinity there. You could check how "Samrost 1" of Amanita Design was made... it has a lot of raster images working on the game. I know they generated several atlas for the sprites but exactly how they did that I'm not sure. If I would need to animate a button I would simply create 3 states... 1 Idle. 2 Active. 3. Support image... and support image being some extra border or glow that the programmer could give some interesting effect as bloom or ease-out for example.
  13. Hello! I really love how Affinity Designer is dealing with stuff that Illustrator couldn't resolve in so many time... but I have to confess that I still missing some features: Is there a way to activate a "Preview" at the Pen tool while you are working with it? Besides it helps to "predict" how the curve will become before you click on the next node, it gives a response for the user who knows that something is actually happening at the next click he/she's going to do. The other one is the "Shape builder Tool" that basically does dinamically "Add/Substract/Intersect/Divide/Combine" within the same tool. This is so handy when you are illustrating that something you make with 5 clicks for example you can abbreviate on 2. And the last but not least thing I really miss: "Paste in back" o "Paste in front" as a simple shortcut. What I do now is copy/cut something, click on the icon "Insert at the top of the layer" and Ctrl/V but this is a task that can be abbreviated on one simple Ctrol+F, for example. One thing I love is the "Paste inside" and how it works with the shapes, this is a really powerful tool that I like the most. I know the idea is not to copy every tool/way that Illustrator has but I think this tools I have mentioned do magic with the productivity. Thanks and this is an amazing software! Looking fordward to switch definitely from Illustrator.
