    No, like this:

    or rather, like this:

(except I use metric. Also there are lots of variety between countries how to present dimensioning.)

     *****

    Good evening to all.
I have used illustrator a lot.
For me the strength of this product lies in its shape design tools.
With the pathfinder and especially division, with the shape designer and with the dynamic painting.

There is another thing that I think is important. Once a path exists, it can be reused. Redoing a path is a waste of time and quality, perfect reiteration is impossible for complex curves.

For example, to make the attached Pokemon drawing, it is possible to "throw" the paths and automatically create closed shapes at the intersection and manage the outline and background (in a dynamic painting group with AI). Moreover, modifying a curve dynamically redefines the shape. With a good technique, the realization of this drawing is extremely fast.

Another example, to cut out the ellipse, one click is enough!

Please, Mr. Affinity, when will there be geometry tools that go beyond the basic Boolean operations?

A torsion tool would be nice too
And personally, I think it's a good idea to offer an alternative to Adobe applications. Good continuation to you.
I don't wear an Affinity T-shirt, but I'm thinking about it.

Can’t you simply create a compound object from the items in the group, and then add a stroke (or apply an ‘Outline’ filter effect) to the compound object?

@Affitoom: There seem to be two bugs:
    a) Disliking Align Stroke to Inside / Align Stroke to Outside ... Align Stroke to Centre is working.
    b) Arrowhead and expanded stroke are now two elements which have to be combined to one element.

As a line doesn't have an inside or outside, I can't see that there is any need to use these options! (Perhaps they shouldn't be available for lines, only for shapes.)

    Hi @Affitoom,
You can post this in the bug section.
Now, to retrieve the vector curves, you can export as SVG to get them.

Affitoom reacted to sirojuntle in Editing Nodes experience (deleting, moving and selecting)
There is some things I would like to suggest some refinement -- or maybe I'm missing something.
    1) Deleting
This may be asked a lot, but I'm missing a alternative to delete nodes other than Backspace/ Delete Keys or Edit > Delete, because I think it is a little less productive to keep moving the hand to the right side of the keyboard then back to the left.
So maybe a modifier in the Node tool, like Alt+Shift or a Toolbar Shortcut (like in Illustrator) would help a lot.
    2) Moving after adding node
I'm having some issues trying to move the node right after adding it in the path with the Node tool. It seems like I have wait some miliseconds - usually more than 1000 - to it becomes draggable.
    3) Selecting
And also in Illustrator with the Direct Selection Tool, we are able to select the nodes in a path that is not previously selected. In Affinity Designer, with the Node tool, when dragging over a node from a not selected path, it only selects the whole path, then you have to drag select the node again. Maybe it could be a option in Preferences?

Thanks and sorry for any repeated suggestions.

Feels like a bug to me. As a workaround you can use the Erase Brush Tool in the Pixel Persona to get rid of the border.

As perhaps a simpler solution, set the blend mode of the halftone to Vivid light.

True. It is very faint and I hadn't noticed it.
Interestingly when I turn off the half tone layer, and zoom the image back to around 30-40%, I see a very distinct white border around the outer circumference of the gradient.
Not sure the screen grab will show it as much as it shows on my screen.

You can almost get round this by slightly modifying the gradient, see attached image, but there are still some ‘artefacts’ (marked in red) that don’t make for a perfect result. The gradient stop marked by the blue dot is 0% opacity, the purple stop is 1% opacity and the green stop is 100% opacity.
I’ve attached the AFDESIGN file too.

Thank you Greyfox! I think it is better; but I'm still seeing a thin edge.

I honestly also think it is a bug.
For now, I think that with a mask I can hide that edge.
To both of you (Joachim_L  and  Greyfox), thank you very much

I will be happy if you could add the "Shape Builder" tool to Affinity Designer like in Adobe illustrator it will be very helpful. This feature will go with Affinity Designer to the next level.
I hope that you will take my request into consideration. Thank you

Rolling my eyes. We are not supporting a poor company in a third world country that hasn't got the funds to implement such features before several years pass. Affinity got both a lot of attention and hype and went far beyond a critical mass of paying customers. They are doing just fine. Wake up and smell the coffee!
This is not a kickstarter. You are paying customers and remember that this company is decades old and made similar more mature software with these features until recently (plus series). Did so for many years. You don't have these features because someone decided you shouldn't. Yet. Or ever. You don't know. It is all about business priorities and scaling. Designer obviously gets the least attention and features. I still don't believe Serif has the vector expertise or the required number of developers with this expertise to push Designer further in bigger steps than we have seen (tiny steps). I don't see the evidence. Publishing software was always Serifs pet project and flagship product so lets see if Designer ever gets the love and features it needs to become more than a tool for digital painters (bitmap). Niche software. Half of Designer - the pixel features - are shared with Photo. 99% of vector brushes are in fact pixel brushes. The other half is so feature weak it is depressing. The toolbar in the designer persona is mostly shapes. Shapes!
So it it perfectly valid to air criticism and wishes here. The very high number of posts with feature requests and customers asking in disbelief why nothing happened about this and that yet tells a story about where Designer should go to evolve and serve existing and potential customers. Stiff opposition from a core base of forum users (of which ever so few are more than hobby users with simple hobby needs and no insight whatsoever into more professional use and needs) is just not what is needed for Serif or from the customers requesting these features. It is ludicrous.
Cheap doesn't matter. As a vector drawing program Designer is not cheap because it has so few and just basic vector features. It doesn't cost "coconut money" whatever that is. Possibly an offensive term in Sweden. Designer is a simple product and you get only what you pay for. Not much more. Besides the great user interface that Serif really did well. Many small programs are actually often overpriced when you see how much you get for four times the price in professional software. But you will never reach that level of knowledge without experience and expertise. What REALLY is expensive in the short and especially long term is workarounds. Again something hobbyists doesn't see or feel.
So let the customers voice their concerns, wishes, criticism and input. Let Serif handle its unsatisfied (potential) customers and communicate the reasons for this and that. In a more professional tone.
