And like that there must be many other examples of what could be achieved with FX in the appearance panel.
You could apply Fx to the fill and the outline separately not like now that if you apply FX to the object the effect is applied to both the fill and the border.
Imagination would be the limit.
Of course it is a pity that the appearance panel does not work with editable text as seen in the video that I share.
That's another thing I'd like to see implemented in the AD appearance panel.

I also have this same concern, and I think it would also be good if they gave the option to choose between moving to the node tool or keeping it as before (V1) in the move tool.
Please consider it.

in Windows version, some buttons and options are clipped after open "Create Spiral" CTRL+left mouse click

+1 for on-canvas shape controls (not only Context toolbar)

Nice additional tool.
To bad it only has context toolbar options and none on canvas like other quick shapes.
The presence of nodes suggests as such but it would only draw a new spiral.

@Ash, I would very, very much appreciate this to be toggleable somewhere in the preferences! 👏
Especially when I'm working with the Corner Tool and need precision because I want/need to try different radii, it is very irritating for me and stops me in my tracks because I have to actively work against the automatic tool selection. I have become so used to the way it worked in previous versions that I currently see no advantage in automatically switching to the Node Tool. Maybe the option to exclude this mechanic from certain tools would be a solution?

The thing is my production requires doing this curving one text after another hundred and even more times every day so extra click (not talking about two clicks) each time unfortunately does makes a difference (and fatigue) in my workflow. Curving all text elements at once is not a way as I have to keep editable copy in one file too. 
So if it'd be possible, I will be happy to have a small dedicated switch/control/preference with the according 'No switching to Node Tool after' logic in Settings.
 
 

Yeah it was something we had a fair amount of feedback on - that switching to node would be best after a convert to curves (as well as various other logic we have implemented around the node tool). We could give some thought as to whether a preference might make sense.

Worth saying that hitting cmd-return and then V doesn't seem too terrible to quickly convert something to curves and go back to move tool, with a bit of muscle memory is pretty quick? Also to say it if you are not using short cuts then after a convert to curves double clicking outside of the object you've just converted (assuming on the background or something) should also put you back to move tool.

Now in Designer v2 when you do 'Convert to Curves', Move Tool is being changed to Node Tool automatically.
Earlier in v1 there was no such behaviour.

I do a huge amount of 'Converting to Curves' daily (without further purpose of editing nodes) and this constant switching to Node Tool hurts me workflow significantly. 
Is it possible to bring keeping selected Move Tool after 'Convert to Curves' back?
Or at least can you please make an according control/switch in Settings for turning off this 'changing to Node Tool' behaviour after 'Convert to Curves'?

Dear developers,
I have found various bugs using Publisher v. 2.00, I had absolutelly no similar experience in v. 1.x
First, reccuring selection problems, on multiple machines:
selecting a previously drawn line (that is a curve object, not a primitive object) sometimes is impossible selecting multiple curve points with the marque tool is not possible, I have to select one by one by clicking on them selecting objects sometimes is very hard when a text objects is near to the object, the selection automatically jumps to texts elements even if they are not too near to the object Disappearing images: yesterday I had a serious struggle in a document with multiple linked images, which disappeared, somehow I managed to reimport them, but it was tricky, the format was not particularly dangerous (transparent psd images saved with max compatibility), never had any issues similar to this beforehand
Unchanged images as changed ones: Publisher constantly tryes to make me believe that one or more linked images had been changed since closing and reopening the document, these times I had to update them. The files are on local ssds, but within an Icloud shared folder, never had any similar issues beforehand with v 1.x.
Wrap object with layer effect(s) applied: When I switch to Designer persona inside Publisher, and apply a wrap deformer, after this I revert back to Publisher persona, and try to apply a layer effect (for example drop shadows), the effect is applied only within a boxed area which is unusable and nonsensical, if I make this wrap object to a simple curve object then the effect works correctly.
Color palette problems: sometimes the palette reverts to cmyk sliders, it is a little irritating compared to v 1.x with which I never had any similar experience
Thank you for your attention. I hope these will be addressed very soon, because most of these are serious flaws in the new application. Anyway Publisher is my preferred tool in a lot of scenarios.

We have now added this as an additional menu option ("Fit to curve delete") in the right click menu in the latest build.

Extrusion in this context is a fairly well-understood function.  The application makes a duplicate of the object and connects the duplicate to the original at each node around its edges, forming shapes between those connected nodes which are then filled with an indicated color, pattern, gradient, etc.
 
 
Not to be confused with the extruders which are components of 3D printers.

Good handy  idea, also a reset to standard is very handy.
