Sorry to hear you're having trouble! I can recommend the following:

1. Make sure your NVidia GPU driver is fully up to date, directly from NVidias Website - as outdated GPU drivers can cause unexpected crashing.
2. Open the Affinity app and navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance - at the bottom of this dialog, please untick Hardware Acceleration and then restart the app as prompted.

Having made these changes, does this reduce the crashing behaviour you're experiencing currently?

Hi, I was experiencing the same crashes. It would close immediately after attempting to open any image. Your solution helped, but does it now mean that affinity's performance is lower without HW acceleration?

[Hold Z/Z+Alt zoom controls]

as a long time photoshop(also seeing same mechanic on Sketch), I'd like to be able to hold zoom and click in order to zoom in and hold z+alt+click in order to zoom out.

 

Right now when I hold Z or Z+alt, I hear repeated error sound, which is really annoying.
