    No, it keep the "void" for white paper, not considering it transparency, and transform in image every other part that is transparent, like a shadow in an image with a gradient from grey to white, for example. Each part of the PDF is then solid colour, and if there's nothing it's where is the paper.

    Yet, sending my PDF for "normalization" in the Lulu printing process, I still get the warning of a document containing transparencies. I wonder if I'll ever mange to avoid this frustrating comment one day...

    Notice: The PDF as been exporter as FLATEN...

  2. Thanks for your fast réaction,
    Yet, how do you get these options?
    Using Publisher 1.8.3, there seems to be no way to have an empty presets field... There's also no "Compatibily" choice neigther...
    Amongst the presets, I can only find a "flatten" option... but this as probably nothing to do with avoiding an ICC profile attribution.
    It's puzzling, sort of.

    Auch! No wait... There's a small "Plus" (french version) at the bottom of the main submenu). There I get the following (see image)

      A good habit is not to use special characters as accented ones or punctuation, etc. in file name. And avoiding spaces too if the files are used for Internet/browser/epub… web based usages.

    Yessss! Of course: I've overseen the "è" in the file name (damned auto-corrector!).
    Thank You!

    PDF to fixed layout probably works well, but PDF to reflowable epub is something that usually takes days of work to fix and requires some understanding of HTML.

    Do you think it would be possible to create an ebook just like a website? That would be fine. At least, with HTML, tons of limitations could be clown away and allow beautifully constructed books.

  5. As Scrivener user, I find myself less disappointed of a lack of ePub export in Publisher.
    Yet as I see how well the job has been done by the Serif's team, I have no doubt that an Affinity Publisher epub export will be amazing. A real Applewise WYSYWIG way of bringing out exactly things you want to have them done!

  6. This year, I'll probably turn about six of my existing books into ebooks. But They definitely will cost much less then the 14$ average. It is absurd to sell a formless and graphically downgraded (non)object at such prices! Text content alone can be beautiful, of course, but typography and page arrangements are fundamentals.

  7. Yes Imarcos, I'm with you regarding the perpetual sabotage of standardization. It's a nightmare since there are no more existing tools to create things the way graphists and artists dream of. Everything has to go through conformity. It's a pitty and a shame... but who are we to fight this strong established claws?
    Yet, I dream of the day websites and ebooks will look pretty, and full of astonishing visual freedom!

    @Castle Al

    I have split your posts off into a new thread, (these ones were not about EPUB anyway).

    @Leigh

    Do you have any experience of a MAS customer for whom our software updates never complete. They have now uninstalled and lost all access to the application

    Thanks for your attention.

    I'll use the above CastleAl to give a follow up if any glitches run through may way.

  9. SOLVED, SOLVED; SOLVED! Sorry for my squatting.

    I copied photo and Designer on an external SSD, restante the Mac and went back to the Store. It immediately accepted to UPGRADE my copies!
    Now it works... yet it changed and I'll have to find where all the brush types are...
    🙏 Thanks a lot for your tips! 🙏

     (:51_scream::51_scream::51_scream: I've thrown away Photo and Design... And now, I can't get them back anymore because the AppStore sticks to thing to go on upgrading! :51_scream::51_scream::51_scream:

    I probably WILL have to start a topic about that mess... :60_sweat: )

    I suggest that you make a new thread about this in the questions forum, but try a complete uninstall/reinstall first in case the binary/delta update is the problem

    I think making a thread about the is a little too much. Maybe you can just tell me how to uninstall/reinstall ... Can I simply erase the apps (Photo and Designer - Publisher as made the upgrade), and download them (for free) from the AppStore? 🙏

    And what if the free download is not automatic? :S

    I was secretly hoping for it happen in 1.8

    So do I... but my 1.8 Appstore installation gets stuck in a perpetual circle, making upgrading impossible.

    @PaoloT: Yes, I full agree with you. I have 8 books to turn into Ebooks this year. I'll probably try it again through Scrivener (it will certainly make a good job, once I'll have learned to use it right).
