About Me
I'm a retired informatics engineer from CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research(*) but my original training was in mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Ghent (Belgium). I worked in computer control systems, documentation systems (wrote a successful but now defunct text processor in 1975), www, and public communication.
My main interests now are in flying around the beautiful Alpine/Jurassic mountains as a member of the local aeroclub, promoting all kinds of education for all ages, promoting renewable energy, debunking religion, and playing with Lego.
(*) CERN is known for the Large Hadron Collider and the invention of the world-wide web in which I played an important role.
