I have had this concern for a while, too, and still do not know what it is about, even after reading this thread. What do the x's actually signify? "It has something to do with the Master Pages." is not enough info for me to understand the situation. What does it have to do with master pages or whatever? Likewise, to make the text editable, "Tap the adjacent layers until ... the text appears with roundels and not x’s..." is not enough to make it editable for me---"nothing happens". What is this random tapping supposed to change; what is it instructing the program to do? Can someone explain what the x's actually mean and exactly how to get at the text reliably? Thanks!

I was eager to upgrade to Designer 1.5 and get the Grade UI Kit and it went pretty well. But when I double-click the zip file I get "Unable to expand "[the file]" into "[where ever I have located it; I tried several locations]". (Error 2 - No such file or directory.) @R C-R > Very interesting about the old Archive Utility. Thank you. But neither my Sys 10.10 nor 10.8.5 have that Archive Utility app. And a very interesting detail is that all other zip files unzip just fine. This is the first such problem I have had in years. @ Lee D > I get the same error where ever I have put the zip file--Downloads, Desktop, an ad hoc folder I made up, and Applications. Same result with each of the four different downloads I got. But here's the weird thing--the sizes! 1st download is 3,864,207 bytes 2nd download is 34,589,327 bytes 3rd download is 16,494,223 bytes 4th download is 3,185,295 bytes None of them gave any error and they all look normal if you don't consider the sizes and they cannot unzip. This answer does not involve printing metadata on the output, but only in the filename, accessible before opening. Since the filename prints, I hope it is useful to you. I add a version number in the form "v00" to my working copy's filename, using a two-digit number with leading zero if necessary so that they sort in order. I have never gotten to more than 99 versions. For the PDFs that I send to printer, I also add the date in the form "YYMMDD" to the filename, again so that they sort in a useful order. (I do not expect to encounter the Y2.1K problem like we had 17 years ago.) In both cases, this metadata is in the filename so is accessible to everyone involved immediately. It has worked well.

So, have you hard-coded the location into the zip file or must I try to do troubleshooting on my own operating system (Yosemite)? Thanks for all your work and help! M. H.
