  1. Right, made in camera and expressed in PP. Thanks jer!
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vignetting Vignetting — From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In photography and optics, vignetting is a reduction of an image's bright- ness or saturation at the periphery compared to the image center. The word vignette, from the same root as vine, originally referred to a decorative border in a book. Later, the word came to be used for a photographic portrait which is clear in the center, and fades off at the edges. A similar effect occurs when photographing projected images or movies off a projection screen, resul- ting in a so-called "hotspot" effect. Vignetting is often an unintended and undesired effect caused by camera settings or lens limitations. However, it is sometimes deliberately introduced for creative effect, such as to draw attention to the center of the frame. A photographer may deliberately choose a lens which is known to produce vignetting to obtain the effect, or it may be introduced with the use of special filters or post-processing procedures. When using superzoom lenses, vignetting may occur all along the zoom range, depending on the aperture and the focal length. However, it may not always be visible, except at the widest end (the shortest focal length). In these cases, vi- gnetting may cause an exposure value (EV) difference of up to 0.75EV. In modern photography, vignetting is peripheral and differs from falloff which may be directional. I don't pretend to any competence in your language — I still have a hard time with too many aspect of it.
  3. Darn clever assumption, Franklin as he looks round enough to justify such deduction! …didn't think of that! Cool!
  4. • Personally, I see nothing so wrong within the persona window. The histogram is at the left because the recorded data contains, as I see it, no or very little high keys. The camera back screen is not showing a preview I would be happy with… pretty irrelevant as, mainly, the histogram is more revealing than the preview, and iIt clearly shows that no values are too low or too high for the DR. The difference in width of the histogram between the camera's and AP's tells me that AP is capable to work with much greater dynamic range than your camera does! The other thing is that the preview has value only for compositional considerations and focusing control in my book… though, with my high end bodies, these screen renditions are much better. Your second screen shot tells me that you have a decent RAW file to work with and that you should not worry! Go for it!
  5. • …whatever it's looking for, good luck. I know that to find such bird would be quite a miracle! Well done… and, though irrealistic, very credible execution.
  6. Thanks Philip… maybe he should be fitted an eyepatch?
  7. Just for the clarity of it… Vignetting is (and therefore limited to!) to the periphery of a 2 dimensional object and is caused by the lens or accessories attached to it. The correct term for the effect you want to achieve, as it is done in studio very often, is falloff which could even be directional. It may, however, include the application of zone taming as in scenery and brilliantly executed in the video sugges- ted bellow by carl123 WOAAAAH! very cool tip carl123!
  8. • Sorry Charles, I won't let it happen! I don't know how just yet but I will find a way. ;) When will I have the pleasure to see some work of yours?
  9. Yep, he looks "guiltier" already! Thanks Charles.
  10. Welcome to the club! Wildlife photography offers lots of such moments… one has to appreciate luck! Great take and cool rendition!
  11. …'cause they are… should be or will be!
  12. • Very exotic take Paul! One thing though, did you try the best to recover the highlights?
  13. I would say… lucky capture, clever crop maybe?
  14. • …now I remember why I don't like golf! :P :D  Scary take indeed, Carl, well done (the dog!)
  15. • In the wintery low afternoon Sun, these pirates are keeping an sharp eye for anyone eating anything… shot with a 600mm ƒ4 @ ƒ8 on D810. C&C most welcomed!
  16. • This juvenile Black-headed Gull is, for unknown reasons, missing a leg. For what can be seen, it is doing just fine! shot with a 600mm ƒ4 @ ƒ8 on D810. C&C most welcomed!
  17. • My favourite blue eyed Goose! shot with a 600mm ƒ4 @ ƒ8 on D810. C&C most welcomed!
  18. • Copying the RAW*** to your desktop will certainly reduce access time as the file would be readily available from there! *** Thanks Aeros4
