polygon or shape area calculation
stokerg replied to eluengo's topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
Hi eluengo, This question has come up before here. We don't currently have a way to see the area of a shape/polygon in Designer. I can get this moved over to Feature Requests if you like -
Hi thomasvs, Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Are the crashes at random or do you have a recipe to follow that always results in a crash, if so what are those steps? Could you give the latest beta a try from here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/60-affinity-designer-beta-forums/ And see if you still get any crashes. Also is this the Mac or Windows version of Affinity?

Hi Uncle Mez, There are some methods for colour matching talked about on this thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/6326-colour-matching/ As for a seperate Live Colour Match Adjustment, i've no idea if there are plans for one or not. I know the subject of colour matching has come up a lot on the Forums, so i'd expect to see something happen in this area in the future

Hi Pixelnerd and Welcome to the Forums, With the icon layer selected, call up the Layer Effects (by clicking on the Fx icon at the bottom of the Layers Studio) and Select Colour Overlay. When you click on the Colour option on the Colour Overlay dialog, you can set the colour via the Wheel or by using the Colour Picker on this dialog to select the Red from your original image.

Hi ToniD and Welcome to the Forums, Just make sure on the Studio menu that Layers is showing as ticked, by default this is enabled so it's possible its now been disabled. Once you can confirm it's ticked, then it should be on screen. If you still can't see it, go back to the Studio menu and select Reset Studio and that should put the Layers Studio back in place on the right handside

OCIO contextual transform support
stokerg replied to dsideb's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Thanks for the extra information @dsideb as i said, my knowledge in this area is limit, so i appreciate you explaining how we could improve things. I'll get this post moved over to the Feature Requests section for now but i will also log an improvement request with the Dev team to see if this is something they can do -
Hi obrndsgn and Welcome to the Forums, With Affinity Closed, do the following: Depending on the age of the install, if you can check these two locations: C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Photo\1.0\ or C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\ In one of those locations you should see a Licence.xml Delete that file and then start up Affinity and you'll be asked to enter the email address and product key again

OCIO contextual transform support
stokerg replied to dsideb's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Hi dsideb and Welcome to the Forums, My knowledge about OCIO is very limited but we do support a OCIO workflow, i'm not sure if it matches everything you are looking for, but this page in our Help explains a bit more about how we do things. Might be worth checking out the 10 day trial from here and you'll be able to have a play around with the OCIO options. If there is anything missing from the OCIO options, please let me know and i can get a Feature Request logged to see if we can get them added -
Hi Tbergaren and Welcome to the Forums, Only time i can replicate that is if i don't have the correct layer selected. Make sure you have the correct layer selected for the one you want to use the Inpainting brush on or set the option on the Toolbar along the top from Current Layer to Current Layer and below (depending on your layer setup). If it's still failing, please post either a screen recording or screenshot showing the Inpainting brush selected and the Layers Studio. Again, i can only replicate this if i have the wrong layer selected. So same advice above applied, make sure you have the correct layer selected or set the option to Current Layer and below.

Hi Paul Spence and Welcome to the Forums, Couple of things for you to try: 1st, right click on the shortcut for Affinity and select Properties. Then on the Compatibility tab make sure none of those are enabled, i doubt they will be but always worth checking, if they are enabled untick them and try starting Affinity. If none of the compatibility options are selected, i'd suggest a reset of the program by Launch the app with ⌃(ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Press the Select All button then press the Clear button. Note this will reset everything to app defaults - user preferences, palettes, macros, everything. Once you've done that, Affinity should continue to start up as normal.

Hi BCPhotography and Welcome to the Forums, Yes this would be possible. If you record a Macro of you cropping one image to the correct size, as well as using the Healing tools you need to, add it to the Macro Library and then start a New Batch job, you can set the Macro to be run as part of the batch. A good video tutorial for Macros would be this one and a good video for Batch processing while applying a Macro is here

Hi borose and Welcome to the Forums, With all tablets we suggest making sure you have the latest drivers installed for that tablet. I'd even suggest uninstalling the current drivers, downloading the drivers from XP-Pen's website and installing those. I've had a search of the Forums and others report the XP-Pen Artist is working with Designer and Photo. Hopefully a reinstall/update of the drivers will solve the issue. Failing that we may need a screen recording showing the issue. Also is this on Windows or Mac?

Hi William, As @Alfred has said 'The usual advice is to make sure you sign in with the Apple ID that you used when purchasing the app.' Can't say i've seen it before where a Mac is locked to using just 1 App Store Account, i've owned several Mac devices and change between accounts i have without issue. On your Macbook you should be able to sign out of the App Store and sign in again using the Apple ID for your iMac and you'll be able to redownload Affinity from the app store. If that isn't working, i'd suggest contacting Apple as you should be able to switch App Store accounts without issue.
