Ros reacted to gdenby in Cisco Systems presentations 2016-2018
Hi, Ros,
Very well done. So many techniques with fine execution. I'm really impressed by the animation of the sphere's w. logos zooming into the scene in slide 2. I think the presentation must have been a success.

Keep up the good work Sully. Some people are more offended by words than bombs...the pen(tool) is mightier than the sword (or bomb).
Memphis Belle springs to mind when I see this pin-up. Her skin tones are really warm and inviting as well as that mischievous glint that she has in her eyes...a true bombshell.
Explosive material: nice one Miguel!
As for being to hot for a show case, I would tend to disagree, as there would not be not 100 French Franc note from the mid 1990s, featuring the work of Eugene Delacroix.
Or even Spike Milligan's WWII sketch, which was used as in a calendar.
Keep up the good work.

Hey Everyone,
Just felt like posting what I was hoping would be included in the previous contest for promotional artworks but I didn't make it. Understandable because the material is a little risque but here it is in all its glory.
This was created in Affinity Designer with a mix of Vertor shapes used as a mask in the Draw Persona and painting in the Pixel Persona.

Ros got a reaction from EZeemering in Cisco Systems presentations 2016-2018
Hi, everyone!
For the last 3 years I've been commissioned to design presentations for Cisco Systems general manager in Spain. I wasn't allowed to show it for a while, despite it being openly posted on their official YouTube channel (at least the speech). Now I can share some parts.
Hope you guys like it.
Have a great weekend.
EDIT: Some of the icons are from Shutterstock with little editing (the blue outline ones).

Ros got a reaction from Kevin Martin in Leonardo 100 % Done only using Affinity Design.
I love it. It has some Teen Titans flavour on it, but better.
Are the tribal details (like the bones and belt) from an existing storyline or are they your own idea? I've been a TMNT fan all my life, and it's been fun to see the different stylistic choices made through every iteration of the franchise.
They have gone a long way since issue #1
I still have it, since 1990. As a kid I was stunned by the style, the roughness of it. But I was even more stunned by the fact that all the turtles wear red bandanas.

been playing around with the Affinity Design Features.. And OMG... Loving the results.. started this one yesterday and finished it off today.. So easy took 2 day, granted not the full day only half or each...
this detail piece would have took me weeks, and i still would have never achieved the colorise tenique and would still end up butchered to pieces and be plagued with way too many nodes.. Adobe Illustrator.. is way too complex and extremely painful to use...
Affinity Design you RULE...
back to Crystal Frost Character Designs..
Just thought i share my color results.. what do you think...

Another weird animal i've just drew. Its a hedgehog. With three eyes!
AD is a joy to work with, if to talk about vectors.

I've just put a mini-how to in the tutorials section. But when you use the colour picker tool (not from the colour palette, from the tool palette, so shortcut "I") there's an option in the toolbar to specify the sampling size. It defaults to a single pixel but there's 3x3, 5x5... which averages the colour. For low poly you normally want that as your just enclosing similar areas not exact same (obviously), so you want an average. You still need to decide exactly where to sample but it makes it easier.
I'd use 5x5 and then, if need be, go smaller 3x3 in tight areas like eyes. There's a big jump after 5x5 to 17x17 which is might be too big but depends on the reference image.

I always thought they were generated by painstakingly dragging out the vertices of thousands of triangles and getting a modest amount of help from the snapping features in the program!

Ros reacted to avo in Black metal crow
Yesterday i just doodled randomly in AD's pixel persona and came to this guy. I thought it is a pelican or something like this but i now think it's more of a crow. He likes it dark'n'heavy.
Made a sticker with it...

Thank you Lon, I appreciate it. It is way easier to do than you may be thinking.
Here is the AD file in case you wanna take a look.
Cheers!

Oh, you are definitely a hero! I've often found that what looks entirely impossible, turns out to be rather easy, once someone shows you the way. That's why video tutorials are so important. Thanks for showing me the way. I love that effect, and plan on learning how to do it.

Thanks, I did do a second Caravaggio, The slaying of Goliath 1610. Not sure I like it though, I like some bits of it but not others, I like Goliath but not David.

Thought I would just share this one...took a little break from vectors
Created in AD pixel Persona at A4 (300dpi) with a little help from some texture brushes

It's nothing clever and the polygon fad might have passed but it was fun to do. Most use a very low polygon count and just something like a face but I like to make it more complicated for myself, not necessarily better though. I had already done a version but wasn't happy with it so this is my new attempt.
A tip is to duplicate the layer(s) and perhaps add a tiny bit of blur to the background copy. That fills in the minute gaps between the shapes and the output's much nicer.
Click on it then click "full size" and it's not so blurry.

Ros reacted to TonyJ in Scarab Temple painting.
Finished this to a satisfactory level. Painted on a budget HP laptop that cost me £350. A3 processor and 8GB RAM. Hat's off to the developers.
