Affinity Photo Paint Mixer Brush stops painting regularly. I've watched the youtube tutorials & this never happens. I use a wacom 6 with n, c & l set. This file is 6324 px x 5200px. Is there a file size limit problem?

I do hundreds of the history portraits, first in AP then imported into AD where I use half a dozen export sizes. I used the paint mixer brush for Rodin, the rest mostly regular brush. I really wish the paint mixer brush worked better. I do have my wacom table mixer brush set for C & L. But the mixer brush is just not as good as painter or photoshop, which I've mostly given up for Affinity Photo. I do have hope that it will get better in future versions

Whew, it's the modifier option: Found this which agreed, "When using the paint brush on an image you can use the ALT key and click anywhere on that image to switch to that colour for your brush" All is back to working 😀

This is a new intuous 6. It's been working with the i & b until 2 days ago. I've checked the Wacom settings, reset the AP studio, logged out & logged in.

AP v10.10.5 Wacom> brush > click i on wacom > click b on wacom > click x to switch colors. But previously I didn't have to click b to get back to the brush then x. I just released the i. Thanks for looking into this .

With brush selected, clicking i dropper then lifting my finger off the click no longer reverts to brush and when I do select brush the dropper color reverts to previous color. Dropper works with option but not i with waccom intuous 6

When I work in AP on a top layer the bottom white layer suddenly deletes part of the white, leaving checkerboard pixel.The first screenshot shows the full white layer. The second screenshot shows what happens when I started working on another layer. Help please.

Layer thumbnails do not update when I make a change or delete Cmd X and paste from one layer onto another. After some time they update. Any way to do quick refresh? .

How do you modify brush opacity while painting? The AP book shows that the #s keys work, but can't figure out how.

Not perfect but a good suggestion. No way to zoom on a specific part of the image like the ship, which I can do in Painter's reference panel.

One of the reasons I go back to Corel Painter is their Reference Panel. In AP no way to access a reference image except to separate windows, do a Mac preview, or drag or place the Ref image in the AP doc I'm working on. Since I prefer AP merged with a nice preset for all my panels and don't like having to clutter up a working doc none are great options. How does everyone else work with reference images?

The problem was that the artboard was too small.

I downloaded ai templates and can't figure out how to fill the path in either vector or pixel persona. Can you help me understand what's going on in this file. Rather not go back to ai for this.

One of my combine panel tools (screenshot) has a "Xor" label. As nothing says compound is Xor compound?

Pencil with sculpt is nice. But if I leave an open path and come back ho do I join nodes. The red and blue on the screen show. I could go back to pen and click close path. is Xor in combine tools compound?

That's pretty much what did, Alfred but used the combine instead of compound, then switched to AP. Do I get to keep both layers if I use compound. I keep starting a new path instead of continuing the old path and end up with 2 paths. Any tips on how to join node points to create 1 path. Close path makes a mess

Probably a simple solution, but how do I turn an Affinity Designer path into selection?

Perfect! James is one of my fav teachers. I watched this before several times. Repeat, repeat, repeat. James said dragging top layer onto the text area puts it below. I have 2 macros, 1 for a mask layer and 1 for an hsl layer because clicking a mask puts the mask above the layer rather than into the layer.

I think I need to watch a good tutorial on layer clipping. I've been doing it for years and still have a hard time wrapping my head around this one. Also what is the difference between dragging a layer to another layer next to the thumbnail and dragging below the thumbnail? Easy to drag a layer next to a thumbnail, but dragging below rarely works. Thanks for your help and patience.

The layer that says prism asset 07 is the asset. It is at the top of the selected stack. And seems to have turned my star layer into a mask. I tried dragging the prism into the star. The star shape remained but the star fill and fx disappeared

I can't add an asset to a layer. Asset disappears. I have to set the asset layer to overlay, luminosity, etc – then drag another layer to the asset as a child. Am I doing this right?
