If I color excel rows with a theme can I import into Apub? Could find any Affinity format presets.

Thanks for suggesting a screenshot @bbrother The red rectangles are forced line breaks, gold rectangles regular paragraph text. Can't control leading. I do remember awhile back turning off attach to baseline grid. This time didn't help. Back to affinity paragraph youtube tutorials ; ) Always something new to learn. Thanks for the help.

I'm stuck with leading in a table text style when I do shift split text to a second line. I've had this happen before in other styles. Sometimes turning off align to grid works. Not this time. Troubleshooting tips please.

Didn't work @ryan1969. It just plops all data into the first APub 2.4.2 cell of the table. Still selecting the table tool then place>excel data>drag out table works fine.

Watched the tutorial @panhors. I think you and @Alfred are right to many masks. Ivan Weiss creates a group with adjustment and luminosity mask (done on image then "released") inside, then drags in additional adjustments as needed. Does each item dragged into a group go to the bottom of the layers inside, so the mask remains on top affecting all below? Do I have this right? Luminosity mask inside adjustment layer group, which I can drag into 1 image layer. Additional adjustment layers each with it's own luminosity mask can then be dragged into the image layer? Thanks for the patience.

Why doesn't the luminosity mask work when I drag it inside me face layer? Works fine outside as in creative session I've been watching

@walt.farrellShould like you might have set the Vertical Alignment to Center. That would leave equal amounts of blayck space above and below the text. All that did was align the entire text frame. Guess you can't use align to align text within a frame.

#1 Justification works fine. All centered. The problem is space before the top paragraph and space after the bottom paragraph. Changing space before & space after does nothing. #2 - I made a hyperlink, exported to a small pdf included hyperlinks. All that happens is clicking takes me to the first page of the pdf.

I'd always used MS with InDesign for large books and reports and directories. And assumed it would work for this 6 to 8 page newsletter in Apub — didn't. But I'm getting the hang of it thanks to the forum's help. New Qs: 1. How do I control text spacing within a rectangle frame? 2. How to make Hyperlink URLS that break on 2 lines work? I remember this from InDesign but can remember the trick to fix. I love that I can edit an Apub in AD & AP - awesome.

I remember it being bottom layer starts first in InDesign. It took me ages to figure that out. I'm beginning to think that master pages are only good for page #s and reoccurring items as with book. But bad for newsletters where everything moves a lot. Thoughts?

How do I reorder TOC items. I want Spotlight to come before Text Frame 1 & 2 in TOC. But though Spotlight is on the top of page 2 it appears as the 4th TOC item for page 2?

Is there a way to detach Master Page items completely, so that all MS items remain on the page but no longer attached to a master page? I know that Edit Ms is Shift Command D and Edit Frame Content is Shift Command C

Can I use GREP in a TOC, also in Find/Change? Also how do I put "Page" before a # in TOC contents?

@Brian_JI watched the top How to Create TOC video. But it's over 2 hours long. A lot of it is her trying to figure out how to make things work, so very confusing. The Affinity Revolution TOC is much better, 15 min long; it's 4 years old. @MikeTOPDF is now my GO-TO. It has everything. I'll use it instead of Affinity help from now on. Qs: Can I change name of the TOC group & style adding prefix AA-? What do anchors look like. I remember them from InDesign.

Is there an easy to understand Table of Contents tutorial for Apub 2.4? I looked TOC up in help, very limited: nothing on how to set period after tabs, style the TOC, etc. I can make a TOC and populate with heading 2, but when I click anything in the TOC panel then unclick, then click update TOC, no way to undo. Help please

Is there any difference between a group style and a category that you can import and export? Is a group style more effective than renaming all styles with one prefix?

Can I create categories for text styles in APub 2.4? If I import styles from another file would I be able to separate them with another category name?

I'm getting a sense of what I want to do in APub and would like to create a wireframe. Advantages to creating a wireframe in AD and import it into APub?
