Some of the contextual toolbar like bullet list show tips, but the ones on the right don't. My tool tips delay is the same as yours.
But so glad you sent me to setting. I upped my black and white contrast; much easier for me to see.

Perhaps add a node on the textpath with the nodetool where the trim needs to be and delete the section or last node to actually trim.
I tried that; didn't work. I think I'll just copy the section I want with the pen tool in AD and copy/paste the text from the elipses. More or less what @Alfred indicated.

I've got text on a path, on an eclipse in Apub 2.
I switched to AD to trim the ovals and get rid on the path without text on it.
Knife and scissors did not work to trim the path. Is this possible?.

Amazing @Old Bruce it was simply centering. Found it on top menu but not in paragraph style; is it there?
What is the arrow with lines under it and a P symbol on the right side? Nothing happens when I click it

I still can't get my TOC to give me indents when I shift return for a 2nd line. Plus everytime I update my TOC 2nd line indents get wonky.
I've attached a single page with the TOC with wonky 2nd line indents. Problem is obvious though you can't update as nothing to update to.
Thanks for you patience.

You can set negative #s in Paragraph>Decoration, there is an indent checkbox. Possible there is a way to put an asterisk outdented there. I need to learn more on this. Really interesting.
-
Finally got it.
I suppose hanging indents are impossible where an asterisk or # hang outside of the text frame.
-
Here is how indent to here is done in InDesign. Is it possible to use a negative # in APub?

The TOC is controlled by text styles, and you should adjust them to make changes.
Where in text styles?

In this short short video it shows I should be able to use the ruler, but when I try no top arrow. I tried looking it up in @Alfred's Affinity Publisher manual, but couldn't find though I got tons of finds. I used to do 2nd line and hanging indents all the time in InDesign.

How do you create them automatically. I used the hyperlink panel to create them.

What hapens to my TOC page hyperlinks when I update TOC?

I'm on mac OS, so sounds like my excel will not import correct. Thanks for the info @lacerto

So formats are for color, stroke, etc only. No text formatting included?
Good thought @bbrother: You have to deal with what is and live with the hope that it will be improved by developers in the future

You're right, Walt. For whatever reason Resource mgr came up this time.
Stock photo even had a link to the photo site. But all I found was the photographer's name and url. Is that all there is for credits?
-
Is there a way to get photo credits after downloading stock photo to Apub so I can add them as notes?
What is Apub resource manager for? I downloaded photos and imported excel to Apub, but nothing shows in Resource manager.

- Make the table in Apub.
- Copy paste from Excel.
- Format in Apub. See screenshot
It does work @lacerto
A lot of duplicating effort. I had previously tried saving an Apub table format, but the text style didn't come thru with the table format.
I need to figure out how to deal with table as I'd prefer content creators to give me excel files. This time I got pdfs with a ton of little text boxes.

Why is Apub v2 placed xlsx excel as a table's data wrong? I've attached the Apub, excel table and excel pdf.

By the way, if you're using paragraph breaks in your table cells, in addition to Leading you need to worry about the Space Before and Space After settings in the Paragraph panel or in the Text Style that you're using.
- character - leading override
- paragraph - leading and Space Before and Space After
- paragraph text style - leading and Space Before and Space After
- table cells - Space Before and Space After in paragraph panel
- text frame>top menu> leading
Anything else?
I did fix the issue using override leading. What is the default for override leading that will leave my leading alone.
If there is a tutorial on this I'd love to watch it.
-
So to deal with leading I have to use the character panel, the paragraph panel and the text frame. Eek that's a lot of panels
-
I do see it in text styles screenshot that I sent under paragraph spacing.
I thought leading was in paragraph panel and on the top menu bar, too.
-
Right you are @Alfred
Found it in Publisher's Manual. But still confused. Need to read more in the Manual.
Override leading is in the character panel. I thought leading was in paragraph panel and on the top menu bar. But now I can't find it.

text on a path on cut ovals in AD?
in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

I created 3 elipses without text>convert to curves> added 2 nodes> clicked both>break curve.
Thanks guys, didn't even have to leave Apub : )
