  1. Another example why the "crop"-function in Affinity is not intuitive: I have a picture like this, with a swan. Now I want cut the left part and replace with a (text) box. In Photoshop Elements it's very easy: How can I get this result in simple steps with Affinity?
  2. Hello Mark, no, the error is not fixed. Please look here. It's occurs in Windows Photo, too.
  3. @LilleG @jer: Ok I understand. So in my view the actually "crop"-function in Affinity photo makes no sense (for me). It's rather irritating. Normally, you already know whether you want to edit the entire image or only a part of it. In general the nondestructive concept is very good but not in this case.
  4. @LilleG: I don't understand you - is this a point for or again the crop-function in Affinity? Of course my understanding problems are also there because english is not my native language.
  5. Hello, there are reproducible crashes with a tif file. Here a "instruction": Make a screenshot of one website with "print" Open it with Strg-V in IrfanView and cut out perhaps the desired element. Save it as tif file. Open the tif file with Affinity Photo or Designer. Take a shape like the speech bubble. Go on the text tool. Crash. Regards Martin
  6. Very easy: Imagine you make a screenshot from any site and you only want one detail of it. Why is it useful to hold the complete picture in memory? For me the Crop-function is irritating - in Photoshop Elements it's so that this function erase permanently everything outside its bounds so how DavidMac wrote at first.
  7. Hi, here sometimes Windows crashes, too, in context with the crop function. I'm using Windows 7 - 64 bit.
  8. Hi again, ok, I give up. ;) And I'm aware of the possibility with the "Edit in..."-way which I tested out the last hour. There were any crashes but I know of course that Affinity Designer and Photo are in beta status and the error reports were sent to you.
  9. Hi MEB, ok, 3D is a completely different house number but I think that a selection which can be filled with text was possible already in earliest versions of photoshop. Ok there is no problem (so I can see so far) to open a picture in Affinity Designer to do that what I want but I think why not equal implement this function in Photo to save the way with Designer? By the way in Photoshop Elements at least it's possible to align text at a path.
  10. I don't think so. Photoshop is a professional photo editing program, too, and you can make there from a selection a text path. Please look this video so you can see what I mean: Text is also a shaping agent. A second example: PS. I'm just irritated. Is it not possible to link YouTube-Videos here? Ok - then in this way: In the first example the title is How to Create a Custom Text Box Shape in Photoshop, the second is Typography Effect Photoshop tutorial.
  11. Hello, in Affinity Designer it's possible to convert any shape into a text frame or text path. Unfortunately, this is not possible in Affinity Photo. :( Please implement this great feature! Regards, Martin
  12. I'm so blind. I have tried so much in Affinity Photo the last day but this I totally overlooked. :D Thank you!
  13. Hello, very good work, I'm very impressed! For beta status Affinity Photo is an absolutely good software. I wish that you integrate shapes like cirles, rectangles like in Designer also in Photo - I think they are indispensable!
  14. Hello, I have Affinity Designer Beta for Windows. And with me the text bar does not go down as you can see in the attached file. What's wrong? Regards, Martin
  15. Version 11. Yes it's ONE pipette but you can choose a black point or a white point with it.
  16. No I mean the point "Remove color stitch". I only know that in Affinity Photo there is no way to choose a pipette for a black point or a white point.
  17. Hello, what I don't like in Affinity Photo is the function of white balance. In Photoshop (Elements) there are three pipettes for the black point, white point, and the neutral gray values. In AffinityPhoto there is only the possibility of matching the middle tones. But what if you do not find anything in a picture that corresponds or could correspond to a neutral gray? I hope that Serif in this respect improves the function at example of Photoshop. Regards, Martin
  18. Hello, there's a interesting discussion about it here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/1554-add-a-lighterbrighter-ui-mode/
  19. Hello, it would be nice if I do not have to reload my custom shortcuts every time I start the program. Regards, Martin
