Keyboard Shortcuts Cheat Sheet for Affinity Tools!
Bento replied to KateM's topic in News and Information
A french version would be pretty cool but i assume, french community has to do it that would be fair. But you should know that some shortcuts are simply unreachable on AZERTY keyboards. For example i had to rebind the decrease/increase brush size tool because "[" and "]" needs "alt+shift+(" or "alt+shift+)" in order to work (and "(" and ")" are placed on upper numbers 6 and .. 11 (ok lets say after the "0"). So if we (talking about AZERTY keyboard users) create a complete rebinding of the shortcuts could the configuration file be extracted and added to AD and AP as a setup option? By the way talking of that i think our german fellows QWERTZ keyboards might have same issues, but i'm not sure. -
ok i'll keep it attach until then ! Thanks for the tips ! This topic might be moved to the "Bug" section ? Cheers !

i've tried to reattach it in one of the right panels did not work. i've also tried to desactivate "separated mode" in view menu , did not work either.

Hey no need to be sorry, even if i'm alone having this issue ^^. But it's clearly a bug .. but from where?! Good luck finding it i'll be waiting  . If you need more info i'm here. Thx !

I am working on mac,. That's weird oO. I tried to set my keyboard to qwerty thinking it might have something to do with our national azerty key mapping but it doesn't change anything...

Hi, i'd'like to ask a really annoying thing to be changed. As an everyday routine, i'm resizing tons of things in AD and AP, and one little thing is driving me crazy   :o <_< : As probably generated as table "fields" when i try to change width and height of an image, i usually use TAB instead of my mouse to be quicker. And as a routine i expect it to go from W to H, and not from W to Y if you know what i mean. Am i the only one bothered by this? Is that resonable to think about changing it  ? Thx in advance. Cheers !

Wow good to know, it virtually adds it or it increase size/placement by one? That's a tricky part. AD has a lot to offer but for the moment it's still a big learning curve for the every day routine. Are you guy's planning to do more Tutorials around the different setups and tools so that every use has its good habits? Anyway thanks again to the Serif team for your reactivity. Cheers!

Right, i've tried a bunch of things, UX presets with only pixel alignments seems the best option for me. But i'm still having an annoying issue : Every time i move an object it had it a 0.2 pixel on the X axis... And i can't even correct it definitly. It will be added again if i move it again. EDIT it seems i've found what i was looking for : Setup (if it could be usefull to anyone else) : Result in action : Thanks again MEB for your time ! Have a nice day !

Hi MEB, first i'd like to say that you're always quick to answer, so thanks for that! Second, it seems i'm already set to all these : But i still have decimals. When creating a bloc or adding an image, or even when i use arrows to move an object px by px. Am i the only one? Or maybe i'm missing something ? Thanks again !

Hi, i'm trying to figure out if, there's a way to work on a pixel based document wich would be rounded up to the nearest whole number. I'll try to explain : Let's say i'm working on a ui/ux webdesign, and my base value is obviously pixel. As i need my design to be as square as possible i really dont need all the decimals wich are more a pain to correct every time i create or move something. So is there a way to tell AD to get rid of decimals, and snap things to pixel perfect position ? Hope to be clear enough. Thanks !

Hi, i took a look to the devs roadmap, so i know it's full and i'm really waiting for that warp/distort tool ;) . But maybe one day you'll have the time to think about that : As a web designer, i'm using iconic fonts (like fontello sets of fonts), and i also use a font manager (of course). I've seen that i can put characters in the assets panel after copy/paste them from my font manager to my layout on affinity. So then i can reuse it afterward and that's pretty cool ! (as i can skip the copy/paste process), and i'm sure you know those fonts come with a stylesheet which name every characters... And your assets panel have a wonderful feature : search-box. So the idea is to be able ton import an iconic font (the all 2000+ in one clic gaahhh...) , with it's stylesheet (naming characters) et be able to use and search directly in affinity... Aannnd maybe, the coolest thing of all would be to be able to export the finished layout with it's iconic font (using only the few characters used in the design) with it's stylesheet up to date. Hope i'm clear enough ! Thx again , you rock guys i love your work as an old Firework user (finally switching) ! Cheers ! Bento

Hi, i was wondering, if there was a way to import an iconic font direcly into the assets panel to use the icons directly from it, than using my font manager to copy and past the characters i need. Like for example i oftenly use Fontello iconic fonts (in one single exported font of more than 2000+ characters) and i can paste them one by one in a text box on Affinity Designer, then i can drag'n'drop them in the assets panel. But as i said ... thats more than 2000 characters so... Is there a way to do it all in one action? Thanks again ! Bento

Hi everyone, i'm new to Affinity Designer, an di'm trying to learn how to use symbols. I think i have mostly understood how to use them, but one thing still has no answer : Is it possible to "unsync" text content from a symbol, without unsyncing it's properties. Like i have a button wich it's text is red and bold, and i need to duplicate it and change the text (let's say from "OK" to "KO"). Will i still be able to change the color of all my buttons on a layout (as the are all based on the same symbol) ? And if yes, how do i do it? As it seems that Unsync and Resync button doesn't work on texts. Thx ! Bento
