Whilst I haven't personally used ACDC Canvas, why don't you give the Designer a try? You could download the free trial, and at the moment after winning the Apple Design Award, the program is discounted if you did want to purchase it.

[Consistency of Tool Positioning and Naming]

For the sake of ease when moving between apps, wouldn't it be simpler to have tools in relative positions?

 

For example in Designer it's the Pan Tool and down the bottom yet in the Photo Beta its the View Tool and at the top (although it still says Pan at the top when selected)

I like to test them against backgrounds, layers, and different sized objects to see how they're affected. The versatility also allows for experimentation as I can switch between styles, apply them to different layers, and shift all of my objects around without affecting the styles, and the app keeps up whilst I'm doing it. They're also a lot of fun.

My first image that came from playing around with the pen and pencil tools. Very useful and extremely accurate, although as always takes a bit of practice to get exactly what you want out of them (such as when creating the clouds and hills)

I'm trying to create a rectangle covering half the page snapping perfectly to the edge of the document with the pen tool. Struggling to get perfect accuracy. How do I get a node perfectly in the corner and then on the edges? Where am I going wrong?

[Page Presets - Video]

When creating a new document, will there be more page presets for film i.e. NTSC DV or PAL DV Widescreen?

 

For film (often with a transparent background) it would be usful to be able to change the colour of the transparency grid with darker options available

 

Rather than just a grid, is it possible to have the safe area guide?
