Thank You Both, for the fast responses, and thoughtful discussion above.
@sfriedberg's interpretation is spot on... and for all of the reasons he mentioned.
Ironically, I can still remember the day when I first opened up the Grid Manager Panel, and how impressed I was to see such a nice assortment of options. I even distinctly remember toggling between the Basic and Advanced options wondering what the difference was going to be back then too. But, I had wrongly assumed that the only change that took place occurred within the available options for the grid manager panel itself... and never did realize what this setting meant regarding the dynamic grid behavior during zooming.
But alas,... I DO Get It Now, and I'm very happy to know how we can override the dynamic grid behavior. Having said all this, I also want to say that I to like having BOTH Grid behavior options as well. Ideally, it would be nice if we could override the dynamic 'advanced' grid settings, by temporarily holding down some combination of 'modifier' keyboard key/s (as a shortcut between the two modes). Being able to toggle between the two options while actively zooming in/out would be an extra nice functionality to have.
Anyhow, Thanks Again guys... I really appreciate all of your help here!!
