StuartRc got a reaction from Ash Eldritch in Infected & Comic Book Toolkit
Comic Book Toolkit
It is really about building a comic Toolkit rather than Template in Publisher. Just wanted to see how feasible it is... Used images from Inktober and Untamed as they are a mix of vector and raster images + can create pages | panels in AD and just place!
Still some work to do yet but it is getting there! Still a lot of assets to add
The test template (below) was built in Publisher but a lot of the layouts could also be constructed in Designer.
Mask Overlay Assets (Orange)
Layout pages
Panel and Tier inserts

Absolutely!...couldn't agree more...'There is nothing you cannot do'.... I like that! .The real discussion should be about what you can learn and achieve.. especially with the newly added tools and features...not whether you not appreciate the colour of an icon or shape of a button.
Well said😀

This is my first drawing using Affinity Designer 2.0 (A revamped version of the colourful Lena which I have not uploaded!)
It is really a test of the updates made to the Brush Dynamics in Affinity 2.0
Created a new set of inking brushes that makes use of interpolation and the new Distance options with the brush dynamics. I have found that the brushes are much smoother, faster and more responsive..I really like the ability of 'Distance' to allow for the tapering of the nozzle. Even though you have to adjust the direction of the graph!

Gorgeous work! Who needs "other software" when Affinity programs are so brilliant (and keep getting better)?!

Three of my last digital collage artworks. I used this time exclusively Affinity Photo and Inkscape with my MacBook Pro instead of other well known software.

As I see, some haters are posting their "I deleted" and so on opinions here. As mostly those rare voices post their individual state of mind and the people who love the product, don't, let me jump in:
The update is amazing. Thank you for your work Serif. Looking forward to the journey on V2 and all the micro enhancements in the future.—Nothing is missing, if you are a "real" creative, who could also express hers/his visions on paper and then make it work digitally in even basic tools. Here with all the complexity of the ALink and the power of the personas, there is nothing you can not do.—And pleaese stop with the auto-tracing-request. This is so immature and you are outing yourself as a lazy amateur who simply can not illustrate or don't want to support other creatives who have illustrated images you want to use.
All the graphic design "heroes" are from before-the-pc-era. They didn't cry about a missing tool or prices of back then really (!) expencive technolgy. I never read anything about Rams, Eames, Rand, Aicher, Carson wining about software and missing functionalities.
GROW UP!
As I read some of the negative "critics" here, I don't see, why they bother to stick to this tool (V2) and voice their thoughts here, as V1 is still perfectly fine as long as MacOS won't be updated or the M1/M2 chip upgraded. This generation of greedy demanding one-time-purchase-customers is beyond my empathy. I doubt they jump into forums of their car manufaturere to scream and demand features for free if they release a new car model upgrade and they stick with their "old" one which still does everything they have paid for.

Version 2.0 Ammonite Vector Brushes
1. Removed reference to old versions
2. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions
3. Re-built all Brush Nozzles using updated vector raster brush elements and removed transparencies and any other old effects!
4. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version!
6. Updated the Sample Sheets to newer (latest) layout.
7. Naming arranged to match the raster versions...mostly!

StuartRc reacted to MaartenTummers in [Affinity Photo] HDR Urbex
A picture in an abandoned residence I took and edited with Affinity Photo V2.
Perhaps useful to people but the way I go about it is:
1) File > HDR Merge
2) Select your HDR stack/bracket
3) Deselect Tonemap (you can always do it later but imo its not a good starting point )
4) Merge the HDR and Edit all you want.
