The Style Picker tool definitely copies text styles but there is a trick to pasting paragraph styles. I wrote about this in my manual and I retested it just now and it worked fine.
Once you've loaded (copied) paragraph formatting, you must drag select the entire paragraph you want to apply it to, including past the last character as shown in this screenshot. This is easier with Show Special Characters selected.

    Cheers

That is incorrect. The Style Picker applies paragraph and character text styles. Please see the screen recording below for a demonstration.
You are probably missing the End of Paragraph symbol. It is very tricky to select the End of Paragraph symbol because Affinity inconsistently selects the End of Paragraph symbol when you drag to its right. Here's a screen recording and a test document (created in the 2.6.4 beta). I intentionally recorded me struggling to select the End of Paragraph symbol. After each application with the Style Picker, I switch to the Frame Text tool and click in the text so you can see if the style has changed.
Drag select past the right of the End of Paragraph symbol to try to select it. If the End of Paragraph symbol doesn't become selected, drag down to the left of the first character of the following paragraph to select it. It won't select it if you drag to the left of the column edge If you drag just a bit too far to the right of the left edge it will select it but also the first character of that following paragraph which you don't want The target is the very narrow area between the left edge of the column and the first paragraph I don't know why drag selection of the End of Paragraph symbol is inconsistent but this isn't limited to the Style Picker, it's like this when selecting text normally. I'll do more testing to see if I can figure that out.
Note that when you apply formatting with the Style Picker, the History panel shows "Apply Object Style". That is correct but misleading. What it's doing is picking up all the text and object attributes at the point you click, subject to your Context Toolbar options, and storing them in an object style which you're then applying when you drag select.

    hi
There are a lot of options that you have at your disposal here. Looks as though the image has been hand-drawn with a paintbrush rather than a pen... I would suggest making more use of the available tools at your disposal (Note 2 combined with Note 3 might be your best option)

    1. Export and Convert
    Look at alternative options
Consider taking the line sketch to another application th convert the raster to vector (I use inkscape but there are lots of other options!)
    a. You can just copy a raster image from Affinity to Inkscape and convert to vector using the dedicated tools.
    b. You can select grouped objects and process with copy and paste
    c. Re-colouring using adjustment layers is copied to Inkscape (So coloured objects not dark enough for vector conversion can be adjusted using adjustment layers)
    d. Be aware that Vector Conversion can be simpliefied in both Inkscape and Affinity Designer (Does crash | slow with Complex objects and sometimes repeating the process on the same selected object)
    e. That coverting a hand drawn line does sort of reverese the process. Where the outline becomes the fill!. That copying back to Affinity creates a container layer (used to be group!) that you should remove by dragging the object out in the layers panel. Also a line is added which also should be removed
    f. The vector Flood fill tool (R) can be used on these converted objects but the outline will act as a 'barrier' to a total fill
    g. You can use the 'Fill Holes' | 'Separate Curves' | 'Remove Inner Curves ' to simplify a converted object (Also good for creates base Layers for solid fills)
    h. Make sure your outline is solid i.e. no gaps
    i. Apply adjustment layers (Threshold and Levels in particular!) to adjust the appearance (density) of visual appearance prior to export for vector conversion

    2. Brushes for Painting | Drawing
If you are thinking of redrawing your artwork create the brush tools that will assist you in the process

    a. Use a basic brush to draw your outline elements (Basic Brush can be converted to vector by 'Layers > Expand Stroke ). This also applies to changes made to the brush using Properties and Pressure.. (Graph) meaning that you can mimic and ink calligraphic stroke to the dram outline
    b. Using a 'custom' raster brush... If you create a series of simple brushes using 'New Round Brush' The shape of the brush can be adjusted using the 'Dynamics'. Setting a low spacing and manipulating the Brush size (distance | Direction) + reshaping the curve & Size Percentage can create a reasonably smooth raster brush to lines line the ones you have described above.
    c. Creating a few simple brushes (b) can give you a lot of flexibility in inking. and omit any complexitiy in the Brush Dynamics without brush nozzles (I have a category of these!)
    d. Also rotaing the brush shape will add the the effect

    3. Re-draw artwork
    start again!
    a. Already suggested but you could also re-draw using simple lines that overlay (cross-over) with the Pencil tool (This tool has seen some recent work to improve the smoothness and node reduction). You can use this to create a line grid for filling objects with the Vector Flood Fill Tool (R)..Might be a quicker way to recreate your artwork. (Fill in the gaps between lines by flooding with vectors!)...You cane them manipuate these shapes as you choose including adding line and reshaping the line with the Pressure graph or the 'Stroke Width Tool' (W)
    b. Use the Pen Tool to re-draw artwork (Best redraw option but can be really really slow!)
    c. Use the Sculpt Mode in combination with the Pencil tool to simplify lines with lots on nodes
    d. Delete Nodes on complex lines with the lasso Tool (+alt) with vector object selected or quick lasso
    e. Use the quick assess tool | s to speed things up.. i.e like Raster Brush selected Press E to erase... really helps
    f. Also if raster drawing | painting for line art set both line and fill to black so taping g key when using a brush (b) will yet you quickly fill a shape.. just remember the outline needs to be solid for this otherwise you will have a surprise!
    g. Dimming out the artwork to redraw: Well absolutely.. but you can also change its colour with Layer effects (handy for drawing over Black ink)

StuartRc reacted to Patrick Connor in 2.6.4 (3439) is available to beta test
We have released a beta build to try and address a number of issues found in 2.6.3
We think a few of these fixes require some time to test them with our affected customers but we would like to release 2.6.4 to customers very soon, but it may require a number of weeks of testing.
Here are the release notes for the 2.6.4 (build 3439) beta
If you are suffering from any of the 30+ issues mentioned in that 2.6.4.3439 beta post, then please (sign up for and) install the latest beta build. If you have reported a bug and it is not yet fixed, please do not report it again. Nor can we correspond in this thread on when other bugs will be fixed (or why they are not yet fixed).
This beta is open to ALL Version 2 customers

    March of the Robots 2024
Moved this project out of the Comic Book Template as it has evolved into a much bigger project
Used prompts from 2024 to work on the Zine part of the template but there are now 31 sketches!

    01 First Complete Inking
Mix of Vector and Raster (Mostly Vector!)
    420 x 540mm 300dpi Affinity Designer

    Process
    1. Complete all the sketch ideas first!...work up to final vector artwork
    2. Included some samples of development
    3. Used the Border assets from 210mm Zine Toolkit project
    4. As usual create lots of vector assets and goodies!
    5. Made use of the nice new tools to speed things up
    6. Used a mixture of Affinity Designer and Puplisher for this project as it feeds from templates!
    7. Used new set of inking Brushes (Basic Inkers | Scribble II | Challenge Inkers) mixed with older ones like PB 33 Comic Ink Blocking | PB 35 Zombie | Monster Club II
    8. Vector Conversion using same settings for each raster object.
    9. Used vector Flood Fill to speed things up but had to resort to Pen Base Infilling for some elements as Vector Flood Fill is to edge (Borders are filled objects not lines lines)
    10. Avoided Contour Tool as could end up with excessive nodes
