  3. True..but don't need to if just painting (raster)..can get a bit more control and mix the two types of brushes...+ can use them to create ink outlines with shading;then back fill with colour.. suppose it depends on the effect/s you are tying to achieve... A bit like this one (ongoing!)
  4. Thanks You again!....hope you find them useful...I have been using these type of brushes a lot recently...(paint then render to raster ..repeat!)
  5. Thank you..but this is a very old set (my second attempt I believe!) and superseded by the Texture Brush sets (version 2) and inkBrush
  6. Hi Thanks for liking/using the brushes....hope they help you to get more creative. ...it has grown into a large project!.. over the last 2 years! (just updating the docs for the inkBrush/Vector Paint which have 990 brushes alone ) including 150 (60 inkBrush and 90 Vector Paint) in this section. The full set/s display is here: Vector Paint Brush Test Sorry!... have not set up a process to sell the brush sets at the moment. It is probably something I should consider at some point. However, If you haven't already there are is a similar group of free brushes in the inkBrush Project here: inkbrush Project Set 07 Containing Render I Render Texture and Linear...which you could use. There is also vector texture set available to supplement these: Project InkBrush Vector Assets This is something I am currently working on to extend (currently 3 additional sets complete ) hope this helps!
  7. Congratulations!..brilliant....completely deserved for creating something magnificent!.... but Apple is just catching up..I am sure most of the forum already knew that!
  8. Resources: Added a selection of brushes from Render II and Linear II to resources as part of Project 12:Vector Paint brush project They can be found here: Project Brush Set 12:Vector Texture Red ones!
  9. Resources Added sample set using all 5 new brush sets (30 Vector Brushes). They can be found here: Project Brush Set 12:Vector Texture Enjoy....
  10. Inkbrush 07 and Project Set 12 Added new 5 new sets of Vector brushes to library based upon work for Inktober 2019 and Camouflage II with some help from the supplementary Vector Assets library Sample set inkBrush Vector Paint as below consisting of the first 6 brushes from each of the 5 set (30/150) Red:Render and Linear II extensions for inkbrush Project 07 White: Vector Texture Sets 01, 02 , 03 Project Brush Set 12 Vector Paint Sample Set 01.zip
  11. Hi poly ticks....na! it's more of a self portrait of what it has done to me! Brushes Some will but haven't quite finished the sets yet!......or updated 'Creating Vector Brushes' in the tutorial section as it's a slightly different technique.... I will put together a sample set for resources (taken from new brush sets)... With these type of Brushes there are 3 set of vector brushes in resources (Under Project Brush Ink) here already I have extended these to include Render II and Linear II (using new base shapes). These are part of the inkBrush Project (Set 7 )which is now complete.(Render II) Some of these have formed the platform/structure for Project Set 12 [Vector Paint] (as above) as I needed to create a variety of compound/curve masks into which I drop different textures (mostly from Camouflage I) I have completed a lot of raster brushes but I felt the vector brush was getting a bit neglected...as they are extremely useful for painting...even though there are complaints about their validity! I use them all the time.. The process does slow AD but I just Group and Pixel/raster and carry on painting....
  12. Vector Paint Brush Sets Three New 'Vector' Brush Sets [T1 T2 T3] Based on an idea around Render I and Render II with option of using vector based brushes for texturing and setting a base shape as a mask Vector Paint [T1] Vector Paint [T2] Vector Paint [T3]
  13. Vector Paint Brushes and Painting Test Created a new set of vector Brushes to supplement Render II and Linear II Experimenting with a new set of 'Vector Texture Brushes'...and a bit of fun! Again using a repeating process of painting with the vectors ..then raster the grouped results [repeat]... Painting Experiment as below!
  14. InkBrush Render II and InkBrush Linear II Extended the inkbrush sets with new vector/raster brushes
  15. Thanks for pointing out the link...Wish I had found that when I was trying to fix it! ....That's great..one less issue...but it contributes to Beta testing as it highlights areas for efficiency improvements..hopefully!..and this is the first imtroduction of IDML ... my concern would be the number of times you had to disable the checkbox if you have lots of pages and subsequent text frames..There are no options on IDML import at the moment..
  16. Hi, Converting and importing an old template file (CS6) with some text centred over rectangular box (defining template sizes) I Noticed that the vertical text alignment of the is well mis-aligned..... So I created a new file just with the text (4 versions [top/bottom/center/distribute] + Arial) in separate text boxes. Converted to IDML and imported back to publisher...all ok except the centre alignment text File conversion for publisher as attached (marked original text position with lines) alignment.zip
  17. Evening, Been experimenting with the new IDML import feature tonight...wow!...Impressive..I like the way tables get added to the Table Format Panel and Paragraph Text Styles are inclusive...I was not expecting that... Unsupported Feature Found an additional option of inDesign/IDML that is not listed on the currently unsupported feature list. Publisher does not seem recognise .indd linked files nested into a master file. So a structure of: indd[parent] with linked child .indd files [inc PSD | Ai | PDF] does not appear to work. The IDML import to Publisher returns an empty container frame
  18. Sorry about delay Windows interfering as usual..! Just checked with new File and new table(any size) Worked fine but when you add/place a table (Excel)...the initial response is as the image. So Place Excel file/Click on screen/let it populate then I was stretching bottom middle node /then drag...and I get an artefact each time..It does no stay on screen if you keep moving the table around...not a big issue..just a bit weird!..but looks to be associated with import xlsx Same when you drag and drop (OneDrive)....but GDocs locks up Publisher!
  19. Added screen Shot Same Process as above stretch the table object and this is the result
  20. Been playing around with the Excel Import feature today 1.Created(copied country stat data) from original file into Excel online (oneDrive) and downloaded as XLSX file (Std) 2. Copied Same Data into GDocs (Spreadsheet) and again downloaded as XLSX file Open Publisher and try to place files.. The Excel file imported as table as expected except when you try to drag/resize/stretch the file/table around the page artefacts are left behind! The GDocs file completely failed...no import at all. Files are attached as below (They are pretty basic!) Data Import xlsx.zip
  21. Hi, just starting to have a look at the new rules features which seems to be working well..but I noticed that if you change the inset values on the Text-frame/general tab the rule can become offset/indented from the top/bottom of the text columns..Even though the top/bottom offset gap is 0 So 1 Acquired the text from the the sample Trifold brochure [pg2 section 1] (its using 2 fonts). Which is initially set to 1 column (you can do this on the brochure) 2.Change to 2 columns and add a solid rule 0.2 will do but i changed it to 1 3. inc the insets and the column rule appears to be offset from top of 2 cols 4. If continue to inc offset then get compounded The top +bottom Gap is set to 0 even though it is visually offset.. Tried same process with a new file and text frame + fill text..and it works OK! ..is it related to font content?
  22. Thank you....for all the work and a yet another big leap forward...look forward to trying to break it!
  23. Camouflage:Effects Added last of Camouflage I raster Brush sets 30 Raster Nozzles
  24. Hi Yep sure... apart from the lack of sleep and a worn out Wacom it is simply a drawing challenge started by Jade Parker 4/5 years ago... The official Link is here: Inktober but there is also a YouTube Channel: Jade Parker and also: Extra There was also a report on the BBC this year about the project: bbc interview There are a couple of articles on affinity Spotlight that give you some insight into what people do for the project: RoundUp 2018 RoundUp 2019 Hope this helps! Basically, 31 drawing =31 days (INK) [Word Prompts] but you don't need to..the objective is to take part. There are lots of options that you could choose A. 1 Drawing/1 Drawing with 31 elements from the word prompts B. Follow the official word prompts or not or make your own or not C. Do as many as you like ..Pick the first 10/every other one/5/10/15/20 etc D. Post online with #Inktober +Date (wherever you like;instagram/twitter/pinterest are popular) (I choose Pinterest:was Google but they took it away!) Ink/paper/pens/pencil is the official line but yo can be digital. There are no strick rules. Equally you can use colour if you choose One rule don't be frustrated if you do not complete...in 31 days...I have only managed it once in 4 years (2017) but was unhappy with the results...I last year I decided to concentrate on producing 31 drawings and ignore the time...(see how many you could do(18 last year/12 this year) in a month then carry on!)..Same applies this year but the drawings are more detailed but taking longer..+resources....When you put all the drawings side by side over the years you can compare and see the improvement (it works..but is time consuming) Hope this helps...have a go If you cannot wait until next year there are other challenges for most most..or create your own...There is also March of the Robots..in March strangely!..the same but with robots....
