Hi Just had Affinity Designer lock up completely needing a reset using Task Manager.. Trying to save a file at the time! seemed to carry out instruction but would not let me back into app I not seen this type of error before!...There is no crash report in the folder There are 3 logs in the event viewer 2 for information 1 for Application Hang Source I have copied the information into a text file and zipped it up! AppHang data.zip

Absolutely!..AD is much faster...AI just had too many 'clicks'/tool changes to get things done...always swapping between Pen/Node tool to adjust the curve...Mesh tool I was never a fan of...it was so easy to mess it up!...Freeform gradient tool looks interesting but that suite of applications is history for me now...so sort of irrelevant. I must admit I am not using the Fx layer functions that much at the moment...but the adjustment layers..that is a different matter incredibly useful and powerful..for lighting effects and colour adjustments..

Thank you.. Yes! organic shapes can be difficult to deal with...partly because there is so much variation....but equally a great source of inspiration if you get stuck for ideas...I totally agree with what you say about AD...I just cannot leave it alone!...Other software simply just does not have the flexibility to combine vector and raster...in this way...and you can get some staggering results.. and it is definitely much quicker... I have been using this brush set a lot recently..I only created it because larger drawings were harder to work with small ink brushes...unfortunately I changed them significantly in the process! I created the pencil brushes so I didn't have to keep switching back to Sketchbook ..well to sketch! ..But... I am looking forward to some new features for 2020..check it out (here) A flexible ruler..eek!..I did see a thread in the forum recently requesting these types of tools..

Thank you.! If you haven't already....Have a look at Affinity Spotlight it will give you an insight into what can be achieved... This one is entirely raster based but you should find the applications extremely versatile especially when combining raster and vector drawing! but it does help to have a drawing tablet...I don't think I would be able to achieve this with a mouse...especially my mouse..which has a mind of it's own sometimes!

Hi Difficult one to answer really..it's about personal preference..unless its all about price. I am still using an old Wacom 4...even this is pricey to buy new However: I did notice there is a budget Wacom One recently released! for a similar price to the ones you are suggesting above. Also have a look at some reviews online These are usually a good start https://www.parkablogs.com/tags/drawing-tablet-reviews https://graphicstabletguru.com/best-drawing-tablets-2020/

Affinity UI becomes sluggish over time.
StuartRc replied to Aammppaa's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
Hi I have also noticed this!.. With constant use the app does slow down...To the point where you have to deploy a restart...Oddly that is exactly what I have just had to do... Been working on updates to the hatch brushes (essentially converting them to 1.7/8 brush engine to take advantage of the sub-brush)...I feel it's related to the constant switching between tabs and copy and pasting objects between open files...I have had the situation where I am waiting for the app to respond to copy/paste/select or typing into text boxes. Consider that on my sample sheets, there are a lot of vector elements. -
I don't see there is an issue..as they are 'tools' I would expect them to be used to create artwork....and modified accordingly..as I have stated.. I hope you put them to good use...
