  1. Hi, While updating seamless patterns for some brushes... I Seem to be having an issue with symbols and nested layers (+groups). Where Copy/Paste between tabled files generates severe lagging in the recipient file. 1. Open 3-4 working files (Originals created in 1.8.3 versions!) 2. Copy a Symbol file between open files then move it across screen (to try and position on grid)..it sort of vanishes! 3. I have attached a video (.mkv) of the process and results for reference and an image of the breakdown of 1 pattern... Files: a. Untitled for testing brush (dynamics and subbrush) b. Pattern Export file (20 on predefined grids (200x200px) or 800x800 for Style c. Symbol construction file (testing seamless pattern and stacking variations NB These symbol files and working files can be quite complex with multiple layers and 100's of vector objects.. Essentially multi-layered seamless (ish!) vector patterns stacked to generate different results by switching layers or changing/adjusting the layer options Unwanted Layers removed when finalising pattern... They were working fine in the previous version/s If you detach the symbol.... delay effect is reduced but can look as though the images are constantly trying to re-adjust inside the symbol area...I was thinking it was due to complexity of file (symbol) Graphic card driver is up-to-date...(been constant for past few weeks) output.mkv

  7. Thank you!...part of the purpose was to build some new assets....but I have not completed all the plants yet..some didn't make it into the drawing...Still it will keep me busy! This one was a bit of challenge though!..I have not tried creating 2 drawings at once in a month!...originally I intended them to connect as a full 1.6 metre drawing but just did not work out that way"..especially when I had to increase the height of the second drawing!

  10. I have updated the toolkit as the instructions looked incomplete and annoying!. Changes Version 2.0 as zip file above (older version removed!) A. Edited instruction sheet to make it a bit more obvious! B. Added additional Vector elements to the object sheet (as displayed on updated image above!) C. Added an extra layer to the construction artboard (Hue) so can further edit colour from single layer D. Reduced opacity of texture overlay Should work a bit better now!

  14. Vector Toolkit Vector Toolkit for grunge backgrounds or sky as above but a bit refined...! Added a version of the Vector Texture Toolkit to resources.
  15. Vector Texture Toolkit When working on latest project: Rock Monster World.I needed a tool to create textured backgrounds using only vector elements. Added a truncated version to resources hope you find it useful! Contents The Toolkit contains various elements to allow for the construction textured backgrounds using vectors but some aspects will need to be refined independently according to requirements (Size for instance!) A. A set of simple styles that define transparency B. Set of vectors (These are contained on a separate artboard) C. A set of vector assets sub-dividend into 4 categories. (I was a bit concerned about the number of nodes here!...as their are compound paths included!) D. A layout artboard with containing mask E. An artboard containing irregular vector shapes. (and some textured compounds!)...does not reflect exactly the assets panel! It will require a bit of experimentation to create what you need.. Export as bitmaps or Multiple artboard file to be re-imported to other files using the place tool There are some 'basic' instructions included in the file There are some samples here!   18. Construction Toolkits This project has a lot of vector construction toolkits associated with the embedded layer deployment Built to make texturing a little easier. 1. Sky Vector Texture kit 2. Textured Background Vector Kit 3. Rock Monster landscape Builder (shown under 'Fallen' here) 4. Rock/boulder Construction Kit 5. Tree Builders (3 versions) Kit (created for Camouflage but edited for this project) There are 2 versions; one of 'sky' and one for 'texture'. Each is made up of basic colour layer | graduation overlays | Texture of overlay The Texture overlay is combination of grouped transparent objects (So if they are moved around..different effect!) Vector Sky Builder With the sky/backgrounds I have frequently painted using texture brushes to get the desired effect. As this project is completely vector I needed a 'tool' to experiment with pattern for the background sky. Background Texture Generator More elaborate version of 'Sky builder' with additional textures. All texture elements are compund paths...was a bit easier to manage!   23. Hi, Thought it was about time I posted something new..... Been working on the Lightbox Expo Challenge (Environmental Design!) for nearly a month now...for a bit of fun..and to learn something new!. All Vector Construction in Affinity Designer with multiple layer embedded files and manipulation of adjustment layers.....mostly for re-colouring objects Two images created for projects Size had to be scaled to a multiple of 1940px width or height EV01 Original Size is 9600px x 3880 px (had to scale to 1940px) and 300dpi EV02 Original Size is 9600px x 4500 px and 300dpi Extended the height of this one during building as the framework looked squashed forced into the original size!
