  1. Hi That's a good question...I tend to apply both techniques when creating slices...In this file I initially generated the slice position from a rectangle.. but I believe that I may have created some of them manually as well...some times it's just easier!... Do you want the file to have a look....It's nothing special...just a copy of an older file to try and create the brush for Jim?
  2. Hi While trying to recreate Jim's Brush in resources I noticed there is a an issue with the deletion of artboards and slice positions...It occurred in the live version (1.8.5.703) but is also present in the new beta Steps to reproduce 1. File with 3 artboards and centre one containing a set of slices for export (brushes in this case!) 2. Delete the first (left) 3. Go to Export Persona and see position of slices on remaining artboards! I added a couple of screen shots as below NB:I believe there is a much older bug where editing adding artboard to left of original caused issues with slice positions
  3. Its not quite the original but along same lines...Pleasure!
  4. Hi Had a look around some of my older vector brushes to see if I could get one to match up...but no luck!...There is a 'blob' type brush in the linear vector set but in no way matches what you are looking for...So! I had a go at this one this afternoon....It's not perfect.. It would have been better to have a linear rather than circular brush sample.... As attached (There are 12 variations on the set). As lee has suggested you can tweak the position of the 'blob' for effect (to exclude from stretch effects!) Jims Brush.zip
  5. Hi I have been asked this one before!....I believe they do but I cannot be 100% sure as I currently work exclusively on a PC and tracking bug issues for Mac OS closely. However there is a lot of information around that will help you... 1. Affinity produced a series of instructional pages to assist with assets/installation: 'Guide to installing Creative Resources' 2. There is a list of brush based help at the base of the Assets Library List 3. There are numerous youtube instructional videos Frankentoon: Affinity Designer for iPad - Installing Brushes, Styles and Assets How to Load Brushes into Affinity for iPad Hope this helps!
  6. very nice!...They may be small changes but it is a big improvement!
  7. Hi, There are a few sets available non the forum that were built some time ago that you may find useful. I have listed then below with links Vector Brushes These are based on the principles in the tutorial Vector 1. Project Brush InkBrush Set 07 and Vector Paint Sample Set 12 2. Vector Paint Brushes This set was not released on the forum but will give you an idea of what you can achieve 3. Project Brush 04 (Ammonite) This is a mixed set containing both raster and vector brushes (It's quite old now and build for a specific project). The Raster set was updated recently! but the vector set still needs some work..but you may find them helpful in what you are trying to achieve. Raster 1. Fur Brushes (Raster) Raster set of fur Brushes (have not been updated to 1.7 brush engine yet!)
  8. I like it!...impressive texturing and a decent set of brushes!
  9. Hi, It is ok I assumed it was designer but... It is CONTROL+Click...just tried it with the donut tool....in photo!
  10. You can draw a vector Shape (ellipse/circle in this case) and use it for the selection in Pixel Persona 1. Draw shape 2. Switch to Pixel Persona 3. Control Click the object layer in layers panel 4. Works with any shape and you can multi select Add combine and negate
  11. Added Rock Monster Kit Toolkit and updated a number of external links including vector brush creation
  12. Thank you!...I believe this project thread has a lot more potential yet...but I have been a bit slow adding to it as still working on brush upgrades!
  13. Thank you!...much appreciated!.... just a bit obsessed with textures and patterns!....
  14. Rock Monster Construction Kit Added the first version of the Rock Monster Construction Kit to Resources consisting of 6 categories including 2 complete samples: Assets
  15. Vector Assets: Rock Monster Kit Added a little Monster Construction Kit based upon Rock Monster World: There are 2 complete samples contained in the assets from a current total of 12 Asset: Rock Monster Kit ...Subcategories 1. Samples 2. Shapes 3. Textures 01 4. Fractures 5. Features 6. Textures 02 ....samples as below and .zip file for installation: Rock_Monster_Kit.zip
  16. you could try these: Project Brush inkBrush Set 07 or for Raster:Texture Pencils and ink Sketch Brushes
  17. It was just a little less visible than originally thought!....hidden in devices and configuration....which I suppose is a bit of a grey area!...thanks for picking it up ...and so quickly!...
  18. Pleasure!..least it's clearer what the issue was...These layered brush base texture patterns...work pretty well but they do use a lot of nodes...again thanks for fixing it!
  19. Hi, No problem..I have toggled the mode.... Yep..that was exactly it!...in High Precision Mode there is a considerable delay/lag when dragging objects..just like the original video, Low Precision works fine...
  20. Update I just compared the same files with latest Beta (1.8.5.703) and Live version open at the same time The issue still occurs...for me...(1.8.4.693) which is what I expected! Repeated same process in latest beta...it's basically gone away! Thanks!..for whatever you did! Happy now!
  21. Nice video....yours works better than mine!..that's what I usually see! I usually reboot when the app start to slow...in this case for me it did not have much effect.. Last night I reset the APP and rebooted (had to really...as windows was doing .net updates!)....again! I tried it with less files and breaking out of the symbol by copying one of the layered symbols onto a new document...(so the doc is then much simpler!) and detatching in symbols panel This sort of works but did find that when you move the symbol around the delay was gone but the image inside seemed to be refreshing at different rates as you scrolled. This made me think it was the graphics card but it's up to date and there are have been no other issues. I was surprised to see the lagging...I expected the files to slow down due to the number of objects but..not seen AD do something like this before....for a long time anyway! Just reopened the files and I am still getting this delay effect...oddly If I use the keyboard arrows the object moves without the delay..If I use the Wacom I get the effect (Its an old Intuous 4)... I will see if I can get it to do this other effect and record it! ... and work around it for now and simplify the layering
  22. Thank you!... That is something I would like to do at some point myself...certainly colourful...some of these drawings are 3 metres across though!
  23. Hi, Yep no Problem! I have absolutely no issues supplying the files...I am sure the results will work their way to the forum at some point..and they would be useful for testing! I have uploaded the three files to dropbox... that I have been using..If you also need the brush set let me Know!...but it's a bit of W.I.P. There were 4 files in the video 1. DrawingBoard concept Ink patterns 13.afdesign Concept ink patterns is the export files 2. DrawingBoard Poison Grass 03.afdesign Poison Grass 03 is the upgrade file for the brush set (I am just working on upgrading the brush sets to 1.7 engine!)..but thought it would be a good idea to use pattern generator! 3. pattern Generator_04.afdesign pattern Generator is the development files 4. untitled.afdesign Just a brush test file (Pixel Persona) A4 Landscape I believe They are complex but self explanatory. The same process was used to create these:Camouflage Patterns The mechanism is documented here: pattern creation but I have reworked this document since but gives you an idea of process The files are quite large as I have stacked some of the older files inside.... I am aware things slow down with complex files but I can re-order them and delete what I do not need...I think they will have to be simplified so I can complete the brush set! NB Sometimes I have >4 files open..but aware this can slow down the app over time...! Thanks for picking it up!
