  1. Updated Resources Patterns 1. Fixed some issues with the patterns 2. added additional 14 Pattern Styles 'Dinosaur 02' Brushes Added Brush set to supplement the new style assets: Dino 01 30 raster pattern brushes
  2. Project Brush Set 23 Dinosaur: Pattern Brushes Added a set of 30 brushes to complement the pattern styles Sample sheets as below: Brush Samples and Nozzles Base Textures (imported as greyscale to brush dynamics) Brushes Dinosaur Skin Patterns.zip
  3. I just replied to your email! I found 2 of 3 issues...I rebuild the styles into 2 sets as was still working on....There is a brush set to go with them which I will put in separate thread
  4. Notes: Edited original a. Fixed some problems with the original patterns b. Reordered the filenames and split the btimap patterns into two groups of 15 styles. c. Added 14 new patterns to create a second style set (Dinosaur 01, Dinosaur 02) There are now 30 patterns...needed for accompanying brush set
  5. Dinosaur Pattern Styles 0215 seamless dinosaur skin patterns15 independent styles (set with maintain fill aspect ratio/wrap)File size is Larger than usual! ....Exported the .png but a t higher res (400dpi) Sample Sheet as below with .zip file for assets: Dinosaur_02.zip
  6. You have made me speechless yet again!... I am pleased you found a use for the palettes
  7. Pattern Styles Added 16 Seamless Pattern Styles to Resources: Dinosaur Patterns
  8. Dinosaur Pattern Styles 0115 seamless dinosaur skin patterns15 independent styles (set with maintain fill aspect ratio/wrap)File size is Larger than usual! ....Exported the .png but a t higher res (400dpi) Experiments Sample Sheet as below with .zip file for assets: Dinosaur_01.zip
  9. Style patterns added 2 primary sets 1. Greyscale 2. Coloured
  10. There are a couple of things you could try a.is protect alpha selected on context bar b. check brush opacity/layer opacity c. are you painting with the same colour of the parent object (this one catches me out!) d. are you trying to paint with a background colour e. is the layer you are trying to paint selected f. sometimes I get caught out by trying to paint in an object only to find out its not selected and I am painting somewhere else on the page g. is there something selected?
  11. Dinosaur Assets A set of multi-layer vector symbols and textures based on dinosaur skin Cover Image 290 x175mm 300dpi all vector Built from 15 multi-layer symbols all vector based to be used for brush base textures | assets | styles | scalable grunge tiled patterns
  12. Thanks for the latest update...so quick! quickly had a look at SVG issue...much better thank you!....I will try and break it later!
  13. Just to let you know I did some more digging....I found a way to make it work! If you turn off 'copy as SVG' in prefs The Symbol will copy and paste like they used to...including pasting into the symbol box...Strangely I believe this was on in 1.8.5 and has been for a long time... So doing the opposite of the previous settings to get it to work...if you know what I mean... Or having 'copy as SVG' on in prefs breaks copying symbols between docs
  14. Yep no problem...I tried some of this on Sunday.. 1. When I just copy the symbol from the pattern builder onto a output grid (base textures and styles) In 1.8.5 it was fine..AD would just move symbols between files as a symbol object...In the 1.9.0 it created some very strange results. I was wondering initially, whether there was issue with opening 1.8.5 files into 1.9 and mixing the 2 but there seemed to be more to it.... 2. I could not see any reason why it would rasterise the compound vector, other than in this case it is a blend/transparency object 3. When I selected the copy/Paste options I did get different results. But I can run through those again: This is what I get with Dino 5 a. Paste special:inkscape.svg=as video .no symbol b. SVG=breaks c. Unicode text =breaks d. PDF = very small not correct size e. PNG=no result F. Device Independent Bitmap=no result g. Serif Persona Nodes= no result I could get the image/symbol to paste correctly with 'Paste without Format' but it was no longer a symbol
  15. Ok thanks for the quick response....I am sure it can be solved!.... Just one other thing I noticed.. I am sure before (1.8.5) if you copy and paste symbols between files they were added to the symbol box in new file...seems to have stopped!
  16. Ok your file is close but I tend to put all objects into the holding rectangle so acts as a mask for the seamless pattern...I added a process/tutorial somewhere....here
  17. No Problem.. They are quite complex at the moment....I am trying to make dinosaurs! 1.dino05..was the original multi layered version It's quite a complex symbol..but you have seen the results in the video. There is also a strange issue of pulling a symbol out of the box on to the page...it appears to do the same breaking issue.. I have no idea why it is rasterising the compounds textures. 2. dino 06 Is a simplified version still working on it.. But this the one I set up to be same colour per object so I could select same and pull out the groups..It does work but sometimes AD just folds.. but have a play around...with the files Test_files.zip
  18. Hi Thanks for the latest beta..that was quick! I was trying to get to the bottom of this issue yesterday as part of occurring problems with symbols and copying/paste...but as there is now a beta I will report it here! If you refer to this thread regarding symbol issues I thought it would be a good idea to try out the new select same:fill colour to extract the objects to a new layer from within a symbol. It mostly works but yesterday... everytime I acquired the selection and then grouped ...AD crashed...(might be unique to the file!) Process a.Build a grid using symbol as base with containing rectangle b.Set up objects containing compound curves for texture pattern and apply duplicate colours to each object c.Add objects into the containing rectangle then: d.using symbol containing several grouped objects but with 4 repeating colours. e.Select object then select same:colour f.Group selected g.Worked mostly but also crash (NB:the vector objects are compound curves) I have attached the crash report 8623018e-84c8-4ceb-ae9e-955ab6551b7c.zip
  19. Evening, I am getting some very strange results with symbols in the latest version of AD. Appears to be breaking on the simple process of copy and paste. Using a basic grid format for testing seamless patterns. Constructed a multi-layer seamless pattern When Completed I attempted to copy the file for further editing onto an older output grid If I use a group and copy/paste between files it sort of works also If I use 'Paste without format' I can get the symbol object to be stable! NB Using a combination of previous files (AD1.8.5) and latest version...so essentially opening previous file and copying a symbol created in AD 1.9 to that file. It is breaking....with some weird results a. some of the elements (vector get rasterised) b. The scale is way off c. vector objects contained within a rectangle are released or duplicated If I break the symbol or use a group it works as copy and paste should I am using complex multi-layered symbols Video to follow!.. I just recorded the process so you can see what is going on copying_symbols.mp4
  20. Her you go....See what you can do with these patterns.... They are all vector! Skin_Lizard pattern options_02.zip
  21. No Problem!...I am just putting together a quick assets/Ad file from some vectors that may help you..won't be long!
  22. Always up for dinosaurs! I am sure you will get a good response! Maybe... You could try these Camouflage There are also some brushes you could use Organics There are also some scalable patterns in the new 'Poison Asset Set' but not on forum yet
