  1. List update Project Brush 28 Ink StippleAdded new set of Ink Stipple Brushes combined with Textured Pencils | Concept | Inker | Big-T brush sets. Added new set of nozzle images and adjusted dynamics for better results
  2. Thanks! Just uploaded the new brush set...Project Brush 28 Ink Stipple to resources
  3. Project Brush 28 Ink Stipple Uploaded new condensed set of Ink Stipple Brushes mostly based on existing nozzles which I have adjusted significantly to get better results! You can increase the nozzle spacing for greater stipple control Consists of 35 Raster brushes extracted from PB 03 (Big-T) | PB 19 Inker | PB 15 Texture Pencils | PB 17 Concept | PB 21 Scratch & Scribble Added 6 Sketching Brushes from Textured Pencils Added 5 Ink solid Concept Brushes (red brushes on sheet) as necessary if you are going to use for inking Added 24 Stipple Brushes old nozzles but new dynamics removed Accumulation and Flow Jitter Samples as below: Affinity V1 ProjectBrush 28 - Ink Stipple.zip Affinity V2 PB 28 - Ink Stipple A2.zip
  4. Argh! There are so many now!.. I have been watching a lot of concept art tutorials recently, which are equally as useful. If you have an artstation account all learning videos are now free. I came across this recently on all the brushes you will ever need! but it is PSD But also responded to a similar Question here at the bottom of the thread Frankentoon TV has a lot of demonstration videos envato Tuts has a general one here and Olivio Sarikas + the rest of the channel Should you create a favourite...I would say yes absolutely.. It's why I created the Project Brush Sets...It is difficult to trawl around huge brush sets. better to be more selective and have dedicated sets for projects even though sometimes they get duplicated (See affinity Spotlight article). It is easy just to create a category and copy brushes to the location. Use import and export with some renaming if they are compete sets you wish to duplicate. I may be wrong but I don't think there are any shortcuts for switching brushes... Preloaded..mmm well not really but you can duplicate brushes and edit the nozzles | Textures and Dynamics to create different brushes/effects or adjust spacing size etc to get a different result. With colours it is sort of yes and no...Not for Intensity Brushes but Yes for image brushes Hope this helps!
  5. I have almost finished a new project (Project Brush Set 28) set for this!...I will put it into resources asap! Added some new stipple brushes with a combination of Solids (inking) | Pencil brushes | and Texture brushes taken from Inking set and concept art set! Should be a bit improvement (won't need to jump around sets!)
  6. No Problem!...I noticed that this set does not have any sketching | drawing brushes to supplement the stippling...Whoops!.... But the Pencil Sketch brushes would help a lot. Most of them are small and textured so should not interfere with the stippling too much...
  7. You can just use the size of the brush to vary the effect. Or adjust the X Y jitter to edit the scatter
  8. Hi, I can as @v_kyr has indicated there are a couple of brush sets you could try to get this effect. In addition to the dot texture brush already mentioned it may be better to download and try a couple of the Project Brush Sets. The texture brush set is quite old now! So have a play around with these 2 sets (I have updated these to version 2 and work much better with the later brush engine!) A. Project Brush Set 03 Big-T B. Project Brush 04 Ammonite Big-T set was build specifically to create the effect you are requesting.. There is a link to a test drawing here Hope helps!
  9. Thanks!. Wow I think it is the 3rd time the drawings have been compared to Moebius...Take me a long time to get that good!!
  10. Fantastic!..Just let me know what you need!...
  11. Thank you!...and we are!...an unlimited supply of ideas!...I was very tempted to draw some plants based on your latest image (green Trees.)
  12. Mushroom Forest Biome Mushroom Forests New size 800 x 300mm
  13. only the first (it is a bit fine on my screen)...I change the size of brushes constantly while working anyway just tap the square bracket keys until you get something you like
  14. I would go for a single stroke brush....(any of the first 6)..but set the first 1 to 4px rather than 2... The last 3 are also effective (Sorry I usually label my brushes but haven't had a chance with this set yet)...built a larger version but not complete! Any of the first 10 in the Textured pencil set make reasonable hair paint brushes!
  15. Hi, With regards to the video You seem to be using the quick test brush set (4 brushes)...The later version (V2) has 15 brushes. Where the dynamics have been refined significantly and there is a lot more variation in the brush nozzles including some quite fine single stroke ones. It is unlikely in trying to mimic the hair you will achieve it with a single brush type. Can I suggest you make sure that the snapping settings (magnet) are completely off.. This can cause brush operations to stagger a bit..(may improve if turned off!) If you are looking for fine strokes...you could try another brush set...ermm! in Resources have a look at The Texture Pencil Set
  16. Hi Thanks! Firstly I have updated the little brush set this morning. There are now 15 brushes to play around with. Should provide you with additional options. As @firstdefence has indicated you could just change the colour of the working brush. There are a couple of other options that you could try... a. increase the accumulation value in dynamics and | or add concave curve to graph b. Reduce the flow | accumulation in Brush Editing > General c. Change the opacity of the brush while working.. easy to do just tap the number keys for different values (0=100%) (1-9=10-90%) Hair Experiment V2.zip
  17. Hi Probably not!...Creating hair brushes is quite simple but to get them really effective it can be a bit of trial and error.. I had a play around with creating some this afternoon using existing 'Bristle brushes' created some time ago. I will upload a few so you can experiment yourself. Process You are really creating a 'scratch brush' that can easily be achieved using a a scatter of small round dots or extended lines (prefer the latter as you get greater directional control) Set the spacing low (Use a larger dot or scatter of dots so that you can avoid brush lag when you set a low value < 8 spacing don't make the mistake of setting to 01 or 00 Dynamics Experiment around with Size Jitter (Tilt useful) Accumulation Jitter Flow Jitter Rotation Direction Initially set X Y Scatter to 0 until you have something you can use
  18. Thank you! I am enjoying doing this one! I had to look up Rodney Matthews!.. I can see what you mean!...impressive artist...oddly runs art classes very close to my location!.... Changing the colour was just about looking at time of day on another planet. Using the tutorial referenced above re-colouring used LUT imports to adjust greyscale images but I had a lot of trouble getting that to be effective. Opted for graduated/painted mask overlay. Also found that Gradient mapping is a much better option if painting in greyscale | BW
  19. Project Brush 17: Concept Texture V2 Added a Texture Painting set to supplement the concept brushes Modified from nozzle sequencing contained in the updated Texture Brushes (Set 1-3) Again used the sub-brush to randomize and build but texture with each brush stroke Adapted the base texture to be greyscale without white/transparent so will fill/accumulate when overpainted
  20. Giant Tree Forest Biome Giant Tree Forests zoomed out from original idea New size 800 x 300mm Vector Version
  21. just been on your website...the macrophotography ....nice! so much texture on the beetle!
  22. I can see that this has advantages but at the same time it is not really necessary...it is just adding to the complexity of the app for a simple process that is already achievable with a shift of workflow As @loukash and @GarryP have indicated artboards are just any other object which you can manipulate in many ways One thing that has not been mentioned is Duplicate (Control+J) you can duplicate the artboard and drag it anywhere you like. This also applies to the layer panel. Where you can duplicate multiple artboards with a single key press and drag them around. It is just a matter of process. You can create a grid of rectangles and convert to artboards (with the caveat that it is not available to multiple objects | a pity as it would me more useful!)
