Thanks!.. Wow these are getting old now...It is one set that I have not updated to version 02! However Today I attempted to improve the set by adjusting the brush dynamics + Flow and Accumulation settings. You should find them a bit easier to work with.... I have replaced and archived the original .zip file. Latest one now has a V2 Suffix Just replace the old set

Hi The brushes you use for this type of artwork are really down to your own personal preference. You are on the right lines but have a play around with the options below. How you refine techniques to to re-create the artwork will help lots General A. Keep the inking on a separate layer (Much easier to change the colour with layer adjustments and correct any mistakes!) B. Create a block of solid colour in the background of each object (Raster or vector) [Vector always better as can rasterise with a single keystroke]. Then use protect alpha to add texture or re-paint. C. make use of opacity when painting. You can also use this to blend colours together and remove harsh edges D. Draw with vectors for the outline; group and raster the results Brushes: Inking A. Use a brush that responds to pressure or apply cycles to the size variation B. Draw with a fine textured brush C. Draw with vectors Brushes: Painting A. Paint with a 'texture brush' - gives you much more variation | Effects while painting] B. Use opacity to build up your texture | pattern | Colour C Use protect alpha or paint inside vector shape and you could have a play around with this brush set..it was created for this type of work!

Project Brush 27: Texture Painters Finally found the time to add to the texture brushes again using sub-brush with 400px seamless textures. This set built around dot textures to supplement the new Stipple Brushes (PB 28) Set D Set E Set F

It is a common method...but have a play around with the blend modes...as well...you can achieve some dramatic effects..

No Problem! Check this video out here ....it will give you an idea of process Protect Alpha basically lets your paint over any pixels that have value...I think! .So if you just paint a solid area on a pixel layer. then turn on Protect Alpha. When you paint again on the same layer any brush work will only affect the filled shape...It is really useful. I use it all the time! bit like a reverse mask! Lock Layer is a bit different.. You will not be able to paint on it!

Thanks...! I have not been selling them!..I should! but that was not the initial purpose of the library I missed a set that you may find useful though...

Hi I made a habit of creating solid block areas before starting to add any texture Mix up your techniques! A. An outline areas with pen tool to create solid blocks so you can either paint inside to get a clean edge for pixel solids (or rasterise to paint onto with raster brushes in the pixel persona) I work this way lots! B. Make use of opacity when painting textures.. a quick tap on the keyboard for me...not sure how that works on ipad. Opacity with texture brushes is really useful for blending 2 solid colours. have a look at tutorials from other apps on youtube.. I made a list a the bottom of this thread here But Found something last week..... a comprehensive painting/creative/tutorial reference list from Maddy Bellwoar on Artstation here......much better than mine! Make use of Protect Alpha in pixel persona...sometimes it can be your best friend!

Hi and thanks! There isn't a problem...it's just that I have not made all my brush sets freely available. The current brush library is very large!. I usually provide a single set or sample set on the forum. Available brushes and the full library is listed in resources here: There are 2 brush sets associated with this project you can download. The test set (using a mix of a single pattern) is buried in Camouflage Patterns. here If you are interested in texture patterns there are a couple of other sets that you could take a look at. Dinosaur is the most prominent...and one of my favourites: But also Camouflage I has a similar sample set I am currently working on updates to the original texture brushes using a couple of newish techniques for creating the brushes. but this project (PB 27 Texture Paint) is far from completion. There are some image sheets visible here if you want to have a look at the progress Inker (PB 19) has a few of the new texture patterns mixed in with the set

List updateProject Brush 17 Concept Completed the update of this brush group. now works in a similar way to Project Brush 19: Inker Added 2 additional sets to support the brush group A. Project Brush 17: Texture 30 raster texture brushes B. Project Brush 17 Painter 60 Raster paint brushes many with bristle effects applied C. Project Brush 17: Bristle Sub-Brush Supplementary 15 brush set to drag into sub brush menu (I am sure the hatch brushes would have a similar effect!)

Spritz effect over carbonated beverage
StuartRc replied to Gilchrist's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
If you wanted to use raster brushes.. There was a new set 'Ink Stipple' added to the library recently that you may find useful. -
Concept Painter Added additional Brush set to Project Brush 17:Concept Attempted to refine 'paint brushes' 60 raster paint brushes with a large number of new bristle type nozzles Enhanced with 15 Sub-Bristle Brushes Again made use of the 'Erase' options in the sub brush menu to try and create more realistic paint effects. Notes Using seamless patterns for this could only be achieved by using 'greys' and avoiding black and white Applying erase to a sub-brush was much more effective.. and allows the texture to be 'destroyed' by successive brush strokes and them repeated with a different colour (textures!) Adjustments to the X | Y Jitter quickly changes the bristle/paint effect.. So there is a lot of potential variation of each brush hatching should have a similar effect This should complete the Concept Brush Set

It's strange. on the original file when you select the pixel brush AD is creating a pixel layer when you click on the screen..to paint...only other thing I could think of... Just use a Px layer outside a Layer Rasterise the JPG to see if it lets you draw on the image (normally you can!)
-
Does look like it is something in the original file...I see what you mean with the stroke size...Hopefully a Moderator will pick that one up...

Ok no problem!

Hi I watched these videos a couple of times but I cannot see anything obvious. Like Protect Alpha being on! Are you using a mouse or tablet? But there are a a couple of things you could try or look at 1. Have you tried switching off hardware acceleration in Prefs 2. Is the opacity of the selected colour set to 0 on the colour panel 3. Are you trying to paint inside a mask? ..that catches me out sometimes 4. try an app reset see if fixes it

I like it!.....
