  1. PB 31 Base Texture Toolkit for all Brushes Added some sample of the of the latest brush sets. [improve seamless textures and do a bit more work on re-formatting the original texture paint set] This one is a bit more complicated as it involves improvements to several existing brush sets and the formatting of 2 new sets A. Project Brush 29 Grass B. Project Brush 30 Comic Grunge Pattern C. Project Brush 19 Inker Base set samples D. Vector Comic Dot asset conversions and Extension of Project Brush 17 Concept Painter I added a sample brush set to experiment with. This one is a bit different as it contains 20 raster brushes assembled from 5 different sets. But the base textures are included so each brush can be adjusted with a different pattern Contents 20 Pattern Brushes (Raster) [Pattern Painter.afbrushes] 25 Additional .PNG files to exchange in a brush (Duplicate the set if you wish to preserve original without re-loading) 2. Sample Multi-layer symbols (Simplified these as can sometimes have over 20 layers) Sample Sheet PB 31 Base Texture Kit.zip
  2. Hi Which ones? There are quite a few!...that I have been working on recently... I quite like these news sets...I think I finally managed to work out how to make brushes! Associated with this project are 2 main sets (The Concept Toolkit which is a collection of several brush sets (I use it a lot!)) and the new Comic Pattern Set which is really an extension really for Inker 19 collection.. There are 200 seamless patterns for concept patterns alone + at least 100 new seamless patterns for the Texture Paint Set alone + 90 Grass textures I have also just quietly added 2 new brush sets to the Texture Painters (Which is where I have some of the Patterns Stored) You can see these in the inktober thread here On the back of these new sets I have just also added a 'grass toolkit' into 'a stand of trees' There is still some work to do on this is toolkit with regards to assets.. which I have not finished yet. Currently working on a Texture Ink Set for INKer (PB19) as inktober is looming!.. and I like the new brush sets I have been trying to improve some of the existing sets.. One of the ideas is instead of adding lots of brush sets.. was to set up a base set (which is what you can see above!) and then extend the set with a collection of seamless patterns.. The patterns originate from a collection of Symbol Layer Stacks and are all vector based. hence the vector asset option above. To create the pattern it is just a matter of isolation and deletion I will put together a sample set!.. shouldn't take too long... so you can have a play!😀..and add it to resources!
  3. List Update Added 2 new project brush sets and extended the texture painters Brushes Project Brush 27 Texture Painters Added 2 new brush sets to the Texture Painter Toolkit (Update on the re-working of the original set now archived) Project Brush 29: Grass Added a Grass Toolkit with a new set of grass brushes built from the original set created for 'Poison' Added 3 seamless texture paint sets (90 Brushes) Project Brush 30: Comic Pattern Grunge Added a set of inking brushes to mimic comic texture patterns to support the Inker set [PB19]
  4. Project Brush 29: Grass Toolkit Added new brush set with 30 Grass Brushes and supplemented with 90 seamless pattern texture painters. Used the Original Poison ink set as a base for re-creating this one Grass Brush Supplementary Seamless Pattern Textures 3 Sets of brushes with seamless patterns (A-C)
  5. Just Awesome as usual.. making me hungry just looking at it...I don't think my eating habits would be described as 'Kawaii' though
  6. Project Brush 17 Re-worked the Concept Brush Texture Painters to include 10 new Nozzle Sets (replacements) and added a Texture Pattern Library to supplement them Edits Texture Base Set: Created a unique texture set 30 brushes for grunge painting Pattern Library: Added 200 new texture patterns (all vector based) and 400 x400 output 30 samples shown below:
  7. @carl123 Thanks for that. The problem is I am working something quite complex (a generic seamless texture set for my concept brushes!). I used layer stacking in a symbol to create optional texture layers with an additional containment rectangles that can be transposed between symbols or adjusted using colour | layer options | transform etc... layer groups can contain multiple stacking! To get the pattern: Duplicate the centre symbol and detach Delete un-used layers (manually)..may need to get into habit of colour coding! and use layers > select same tag colour Then copy to grid output and export You can do colour but this slightly increases the file size! test in Base brush set (using sub-brush erase options for added texture)
  8. Funny I was thinking this yesterday!... When toppling layers to create patterns you can be left with a substantial layer stack!.. un-used in the symbol It would be useful to be able to select all 'invisible' \ hidden \ deselected layers and remove.. or all 'visible' Only because when cleaning up some stacked symbols I had to manually remove the unselected layers...I was looking for an option at the time.. but also decided I had just really been inefficient by not assigning a colour in the first place😀
  9. Snow brushes You are almost spoilt for choice.. any solid brush with a small random scatter should be able to achieve this! I constructed a brush set called scribble and scratch for adding features like this to branches. It which would certainly do this job...is not available on the Forum However... Check out brushes named: 'Uncontrollable' | 'Blotchy' | 'Bubble Edge' | 'Block Stipple' | 'Regular Edge' and for Texture 'Sovite' Ink Stipple If you have the time you could add your own using the Snowflake vectors as brushes The Snowflakes (which you could use as brush nozzles with a little effort!)
  10. You can do it with artboards in Designer with: 1. View - Clip to canvas [\ key] 2. Rasterize and Trim -Also something I use a lot is Rasterize and Trim' on the Layer Panel Menu. Really useful for cropping back images that overhand the artboard 3. Mask to below with rectangle in layer above 4. Paste everything inside a rectangle
  11. It is!..So far been a valuable exercise... Some way to go though yet!.. I have certainly learnt a few new tricks. Been following a few concept artists on YouTube and Artstation which has helped a lot! I like the mix of raster and vector (but in reverse) gives you so many options to paint/colour.. including.. But here are a few new things I picked up in the process so far! A few Changes to workflow 1. You can place a vector inside a pixel layer and colour the pixels (just wow! ..I like it!)..with blends! and transparency! 2. Use a colour mask and paint out (erase) to create non-destructive objects 3. Use layer options (Erase) to punch out overlays without having to compound the vector (Useful if you want to make use of a dual set of overlying vectors)..and much quicker! 4. Build modular elements that you can re-use (which is a big par of the process) 5. Use block colour overlays to adjust the overall final colour. Again re-edit as a mask with adjustments 6. Paint with texture brushes not flat ones 7. Always use a base block (colour) ..much easier to stack layers 8. Sketch - redraw -sketch -redraw (not just draw and hope for best!) 9. Use the pencil tool to sketch with stabilizer set to minimal amount (gives you more control)-draw with vectors then sketch for raster shape 10. Split complex vectors to several shapes then re-combine (had to do this as complex vectors with lots of nodes and cutters can slow down lots!) (and crash sometimes) 11. Set a Colour adjustment layer for sketching (A work-around for using Blue or red pencils to sketch)...and a standard feature of Clip Paint Studio. So whatever you draw on a particular layer is always a single colour 12. Use vector elements as templates for inking .. really useful technique as you can Re-scale | Transform any vector to new shape and redraw with pixel brushes 13...Get to play with and refine my brush sets!
  12. Looked into this some time ago have a read at this article https://topten.ai/image-upscalers-review/ But also there is a free one on GitHub.. that used to be popular https://github.com/AaronFeng753/Waifu2x-Extension-GUI and https://vanceai.com/anime-upscaler/?source=ttai_waifu2x and GIMP apparently (not tried!) There was also this but is PSD here but I am sure it could be adapted
  13. Common Vector patterns Something I should have started a long time ago...an asset Library of vector patterns | shapes..but still better late than never Compounded as single shapes to keep the elements organised Set 1 Generics
  14. I just stopped placing px images | layers into groups or layers until the work was finalised! or complete...
  15. List Update Brushes Project Brush 06 Undergrowth :Re-activated links to archived old poison brush sets (12 6 vector 6 raster) to make grass brushes visible Assets Lots of new assets Untamed Project Added some of the new vector toolkits associated with this project 4 so far! Tree Toolkit (Mesh Trees) Set of 5 Vector template shapes for Inking and Sketching. Includes a selection of leaves and textures Membrane Toolkit MT1 A collection of basic compound meshes to enhance Tree Toolkit T7 Rock Toolkits (Untamed) 40 Vector Rock shapes that can be used as templates for inking rocks Meadow Plants Toolkits Sets of vector ground plants with Bellflowers with Composites and colour variations
  16. Everyone works differently.. sometimes it is difficult to see what the real issue is and how to fix it...just part of the learning process I guess.
  17. Tree Construction Tried something a bit different with the trees Used a vector base with a Layer Erase as overlay to punch out the spaces. So essentially the outline is raster painted and underlay all vector. A slow process but added much more flexibility to the tree options and it's non destructive.
  18. Ah!.. 1. Select all in file 2. Go back to Lighting filter. 3. Select remove and then click apply... This releases the pixel layer or image
  19. In Photo there is a background alpha channel as a mask sitting in the file. but not sure how to delete it...In Lighting effects. removing the effect then apply worked once for me but does not work everytime.
  20. Sorry the pixel layer is an image (I pulled the file into Designer to have a look...The Pixel layer does not appear to exist as a resource. I thought initially it was some kind of mask. or clipping mask..but If you group the pixel layer/ image in Designer it releases the object..(which is why it it weird!) You can then copy and past and duplicate as much as you like. The elusive box snaps to the position of the image if you group REsingle.afdesign
  21. Weird!...had me going not quite sure what the extra box is ..but No image is showing in resources...but if you GROUP the image you can access it and copy /paste.. between docs
  22. Hi I was sure that I had uploaded a set of brushes for creating grass effects somewhere!... I believe they in the brush sets created after 'Poison'. But I had to check! It was a log time ago! They do not appear in the Brush Library list as I sort of disconnected them when updating some of the sets....!#@ to concentrate on Project Brushes The Demo Sets are in this thread here The old brush sets (version 01) are still available in Resources (vector and Raster) if you want to try them Here They are just not very visible...you may need to reduce the accumulation and flow jitters down in brush dynamics as they worked a little less effectively in AD 1.7...
