  1. I would go for a single stroke brush....(any of the first 6)..but set the first 1 to 4px rather than 2... The last 3 are also effective (Sorry I usually label my brushes but haven't had a chance with this set yet)...built a larger version but not complete! Any of the first 10 in the Textured pencil set make reasonable hair paint brushes!
  2. Hi, With regards to the video You seem to be using the quick test brush set (4 brushes)...The later version (V2) has 15 brushes. Where the dynamics have been refined significantly and there is a lot more variation in the brush nozzles including some quite fine single stroke ones. It is unlikely in trying to mimic the hair you will achieve it with a single brush type. Can I suggest you make sure that the snapping settings (magnet) are completely off.. This can cause brush operations to stagger a bit..(may improve if turned off!) If you are looking for fine strokes...you could try another brush set...ermm! in Resources have a look at The Texture Pencil Set
  3. Hi Thanks! Firstly I have updated the little brush set this morning. There are now 15 brushes to play around with. Should provide you with additional options. As @firstdefence has indicated you could just change the colour of the working brush. There are a couple of other options that you could try... a. increase the accumulation value in dynamics and | or add concave curve to graph b. Reduce the flow | accumulation in Brush Editing > General c. Change the opacity of the brush while working.. easy to do just tap the number keys for different values (0=100%) (1-9=10-90%) Hair Experiment V2.zip
  4. Hi Probably not!...Creating hair brushes is quite simple but to get them really effective it can be a bit of trial and error.. I had a play around with creating some this afternoon using existing 'Bristle brushes' created some time ago. I will upload a few so you can experiment yourself. Process You are really creating a 'scratch brush' that can easily be achieved using a a scatter of small round dots or extended lines (prefer the latter as you get greater directional control) Set the spacing low (Use a larger dot or scatter of dots so that you can avoid brush lag when you set a low value < 8 spacing don't make the mistake of setting to 01 or 00 Dynamics Experiment around with Size Jitter (Tilt useful) Accumulation Jitter Flow Jitter Rotation Direction Initially set X Y Scatter to 0 until you have something you can use
  5. Thank you! I am enjoying doing this one! I had to look up Rodney Matthews!.. I can see what you mean!...impressive artist...oddly runs art classes very close to my location!.... Changing the colour was just about looking at time of day on another planet. Using the tutorial referenced above re-colouring used LUT imports to adjust greyscale images but I had a lot of trouble getting that to be effective. Opted for graduated/painted mask overlay. Also found that Gradient mapping is a much better option if painting in greyscale | BW
  6. Project Brush 17: Concept Texture V2 Added a Texture Painting set to supplement the concept brushes Modified from nozzle sequencing contained in the updated Texture Brushes (Set 1-3) Again used the sub-brush to randomize and build but texture with each brush stroke Adapted the base texture to be greyscale without white/transparent so will fill/accumulate when overpainted

  8. just been on your website...the macrophotography ....nice! so much texture on the beetle!
  9. I can see that this has advantages but at the same time it is not really necessary...it is just adding to the complexity of the app for a simple process that is already achievable with a shift of workflow As @loukash and @GarryP have indicated artboards are just any other object which you can manipulate in many ways One thing that has not been mentioned is Duplicate (Control+J) you can duplicate the artboard and drag it anywhere you like. This also applies to the layer panel. Where you can duplicate multiple artboards with a single key press and drag them around. It is just a matter of process. You can create a grid of rectangles and convert to artboards (with the caveat that it is not available to multiple objects | a pity as it would me more useful!)
  10. Thank you!...sharing assets was always part of my project!
  11. Thank you!.......hope you can make use of them.. I believe there is another set of resources like this somewhere! (Vector Texture Toolkit II Ammonite II)
  12. Thanks...It is a big universe! I am just trying to do one planet!
  13. Rock Desert Biome Building Structures Reworked and Landscape Enhanced New size 800 x 300mm Original Fading Light Night
  14. Thanks Alfred!.. I have a few more to do yet!...
  15. Thank You!....I was looking for a way to speed up ideas and sorted ended up working in reverse. Normally I ink then colour but in this case relied on flat solid brushes to build the forms first...The vectoring will be a lot slower obviously...but have already defined what the objects are going to look like. The idea was to create a series of Environmental Biomes in (vector eventually!) It is also really easy to do even though it looks complicated. i was following a series of tutorials on YouTube on how to create a landscape in 10 minutes...(took me a bit longer but I liked the technique!)... Try it yourself...It is by The Geek artist (here!). I have refined the process a lot and spent a lot of time redrawing details afterwards...hence the later images are less complex/detailed and with imported objects. This is why the first image looks different (followed a tutorial!)..but I made it a bit too complex with the texturing me thinks!... So the process has just evolved for me! I used the distress brush set but Inker sample set will do it maybe with a mix of organics (PB 08) and as you noticed some of the vegetation ones The colour can be changed in seconds!
  16. Landscape Experiments 01 Woodland 02 New Mushroom trees 03 Cone trees 04 Reworked building structures
  17. Project Brush 17: Concept V2 Updated the concept brush painting set so I could experiment a bit more with new worlds Added 7 new Distressed Pattern Brushes Removed ones not being used Updated the ink brushes to work the same way as Inker Brush collection Adapted the base texture to be greyscale without white/transparent so will fill/accumulate when overpainted
  18. Hi Thanks!....It reminds me of a lot of things as well....sore eyes...worn out Wacom!.... I had a look at 'Riven' artwork, very impressive...You should have said 'Myst'.. I would not have had to ask Google... I can see what you mean...I will have a think about what the next image could be!...But I think a vector version of this might be the next option...(and some more resources!).. Have a look at Luca Pisanu's (Croods!) work on artstation or Emilie Vaccarini-Francis Either way I will need some more trees and weird rocks!
  19. I see your point but maybe it is just taller...are all humans equal height?
  20. Thanks.. sometimes I wish there was not so much detail!
  21. Hi I see @Wosven has been helping you But if you wanted to try both types of brushes you could download Project Brush set 04 Ammonite which I believe still has 30 Raster and 30 Vector brushes in 2 sets. It has also been updated to consider 1.7 brush engine
  22. Untamed Untamed: 'When Animals Ruled the world' Challenge contribution Could not participate directly in this challenge as it directly conflicted with Inktober but done one anyway.... Original size:1000mm x 500mm Raster 300dpi (not submission size) upload 2362 x 1181 px
  23. Excellent...Hope you find them useful. For learning stuff it isn't necessary to just stick to AD AP APu tutorials...many of the techniques for apps are perfectly adaptable to be used.. (just need to press the equivalent keys!)check some of these out... https://www.youtube.com/c/thebustermonkey https://www.youtube.com/c/DaniloFiocco https://www.youtube.com/c/ProkoTV ....and if you are on Artstation all tutorials are free .and https://affinityspotlight.com/
  24. Thank you very much.! I don't unfortunately....but what would you like to know? If how to do brushes there are a few instruction sheets floating around the forum! If artwork just ask I will try to help....
