  1. I got the same problem; I am surprised that Serif Co. do not take the proper steps to solve the problem; this is not a simple ussue. I have removed the Command.xml file and now it works.
  2. I do not understand where is the actual problem; I enclose my updated file with just a pixel layer. LeafItTransparentMainPersona-2.afphoto
  3. Thank you for the very fast answer; I have changed the setting and now it works. The strange matter is that prevuiosly I have uploaded several B&W photos and never I got this change from Colour to Grayscale.
  4. I have upoaded a B/W photo in AP and I got the message that it was assigned a Grayscale D50. Therefore it is not possible to apply any colour as I wanted. I enclose a screen-shot to show as it is.
  5. Thank you for the screen-shot; the basic issue is not concerned about the icon colours (dark or milk), but an evident difference to show when is ON or OFF; now they have almost the same colour and it is rather difficult to understand.
  6. I confirm that this is the same issue with me; while the brushes are visible in PS, they are not in AP.
  7. I do not understand; the title of this topic is File Icons on Windows 7. I also was supponing that Affinity Icons and Affinity Thumbnails have the same meaning. Therefore this should be the right forum.
  8. I am not from Serif; I am just a user that suffers to understand which icons are ON or OFF on both AP & AD.
  9. It has always been like that since the very beginning; I enclose the screen-shot to show as it is. I do not know anymore what to do.
  10. Over 2 years have elapsed since this post and the problem is still unsolved; the icons are rather small due to tha lack of space and this can be reasonable, butthere is no reason at all why we must make efforts with the eyes to perceive whether the icons are active or not (take the "Snapping" icon as an example); it appears that mostly of the Affinity users are complaining by this obviuos fact.
  11. I have successfully installed the 8 plugins of the Nik Collection and after playing a bit with them I have the following very serious question: as I already have Affinity Photo, that makes already everything, why I should use the additional Plugins of Nik Collection? I do hope to get some explanation to get clear my mind.
  12. I have installed today on AP 1.5.0.45 on Window 7 the plug-in Nik Collection and I can confirm that all 8 of them work perfectly well and without having any problem. It has been the first time for me.
  13. I already installed since over a month all the files you mentioned (i.e. the same as in AD are in the Common Folder), but still I cannot see the file image (only the file name and the affinity logos appear). I have both AD & AP with the official release (no more Beta).
  14. I have tried your afphoto file and exported as JPG file with 85% size and I did not get the result you claim. I attach the JPG file:
  15. I know pwerfectly well to use both CTRL or Shift and Drag; the problem is that in the meanwile the circle moves from the corner; it works perfectly for rectangular shape. In any case I have overcome the problem by Tips and Ticks.
  16. I attach a screen-shot with the list of files I have now, after the last AP 43 release. As you can see they are all there. To be sure, I have also restarted the PC, but nothing has changed at all.
  17. I work with Windows 7 and I already have in affinity > Common all the files you mentioned, but still I see only the Affinity Logo and the file name.
  18. The link you have attached seems to be for Visual Studio 2015 (I do not know what it is for); what I can do with it?
  19. I enclose 2 screen shots to show that having already installed the required file in Affinity/Common the file are still shown with the name.afphoto and name.design under the Affinity Logos. Is there any way to get the image related to such files?
  20. You are right. The only point is that I am not so young anymore (73 years old), therefore I want to focus now in AD & AP, have a good knowledge of them to be used for what I intend to do. Everything I will create will not be for professional use, but only for my own pleasure.
  21. You have been an exellent support for all the aspects related to my above issues. I am not a professional user as designer, but I have a huge number of old photos that I aim to publish in some way. I was looking for a software suitable for may needs, beside IrfanView that I have used successfully since too many years, despite that is almost a toy. A few months ago firstly I tried GIMP, but I did not like it so much. Then only three months ago I discovered really by chance Affinity Photo, that looked great, but was not yet available for Windows, therefore I started with Affinity Designer, just for curiosity (as a mechanical/electric engineer I have used of course Autocad, by means of script commands, and a lot of Solid Edge 3D that I have enjoyed a lot due to the fact that, by means of Exel, it is possible to create complex parametric products). Immediately I have appreciate so much also AD due to the fact that it is basically a technical software, where you get easily what is expected for. Since AP for Windows has been available I started the use of it, but I discovered soon that the matters were more vague. After about 2 months of struggling I know now enough, but each time I discover some new difficulty; I do not have at all the experience with Photoshop and everything is new for me. One of the last thing I was looking for was that blody command on how to Copy and Paste; despite all my attempts I could not find the right simple way and I was surprised to realize that Serif Company did want to consider this as a problem. Now thanks to your help I have come to all I wanted and I can start to work on my projects by using not only AP, but maybe much more AD that will be of great help, mainly to create artistic Photo Albums. I thank you one again for your ultimate great tips and advices. Ciao Daniele
