  1. A few questions about the "Copy items as SVG" from preferences: - If turned off, how are items copied? - what's the benefit of turning it on? - if turned on, is text copied as outlines?
  2. Since I updated to one of the latest beta versions, AD now uses Points as the default unit types for typography. This is despite having selected Pixel units as the document units in Document setup. How to force AD to use Px units everywhere, including typography options?
  3. Seems like this bug only affects the buttons in the toolbar, not the entries in the AD menu.
  4. Since I upgraded to 1.2.0.25338, it doesn't seem tog be possible anymore to switch personas after switching to Export Persona.
  5. I hope that's a solution. Using the ALT/option is not only totally hardwired in my brain, it's also a convention used across the products I mentioned before. So it would be a great usability boost to stick to the convention. I noticed that ALT/option overrides snapping indeed - could that be simply replaced by CTRL?
  6. @TobyB > I hope you will learn to like it. When you are in the node tool a single click on and object will select it so you should still be productive. I've been trying to get used to it in the meanwhile, but after countless documents created in AD, I just cannot get around to like this. I think this restriction is just a productivity killer. The addition of the object selection requirements adds an extra step. After many operations for moving a group of objects + individual nodes from different objects, that's a lot of extra additional steps. > One of many advantages is a drag selection of nodes is constrained to only objects you wanted. That makes sense, so I propose the following: 1) If no objects are selected, enable the behavior I initially suggested 2) If there's objects selected, enable the current behavior I feel this would be such a huge workflow improvement to AD, that I decided to make a quick screencast illustrating the workflow difference between Illustrator and AD. In the following example, I'd like to add a shape inside the black container, above the existing content: - In AD: https://v.usetapes.com/5SNdC1jPpA - In illustrator: https://v.usetapes.com/oLjRzPV9v7 Note there's two important additional advantages to Illustrator's way: 1) any margins/padding are preserved. e.g. the bottom padding of the black container got preserved and I wouldn't be required to do extra work to match it to the original padding. This is a huge advantage in UI design. 2) text objects can also be included in the selection done with the direct selection tool 3) does not require standard objects to be converted to curves first in order to enable node selection This was a simple example, but there's also more complex scenarios where the mixed selection of nodes from different objects would be beneficial after many repeated operations of this type.
  7. This seems like a small effort with a huge usability impact.
  8. In order to resize a vector: - proportionally - need to press SHIFT modifier key In order to resize a bitmap: - proportionally - need to press ALT/Option modifier key This behavior should be consistent, regardless of layer type and SHIFT should be the modifier key.
  9. @Ben - that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! @MEB having the same behavior for curve handles would also be great!
  10. Awesome, can't wait to see support for adding arrows to open paths!
  11. Would be great if AD supported snapping curve nodes to pixel grid. That'd be super handy when adjusting the nodes for, e.g., a scaled icon. Right now the workaround I have is using the transform box :(
  12. Hi there, Is there a tool to resize the document with drag&drop (e.g. Crop tool or canvas handles)? I'm looking for a simpler, faster way to resize documents in AD without having to go into the Document Setup dialog or opening the document in AP just to use the crop tool.
  13. Bummer, too bad. Think it's the only impediment I have from collaborating with people using other applications. E.g. handing over a .PSD to a developer using Windows (for which there's no AD).
  14. Hi there, Is there any way to export a document from AD to .PSD with editable text? I tried with the latest beta (v1.2.0.24299) that and text layers are all rasterized when I open with Photoshop. Thanks!
  15. Sure, but there's also several non-Apple, non-App Store apps using it without any issues.
  16. Hi there, Would be awesome if the AD beta had an update manager, something like http://sparkle-project.org/. That'd make updates so much more pleasurable compared to got to website > dowload > verify disk image > drag to apps folder :-)
  17. I fear this one is starting to get buried in oblivion. Any chance this could change or become an option?
