    Agreed!
I think we have been quite patient waiting for this feature. Moreover, I have recommended to others that Affinity be considered on many occassions. For some reason, this feature request keeps getting put off and I have nearly lost all faith amd trust in this company. I can no longer recommend this product.

I recall one developer saying arrowheads was a complicated feature. Well, if preview can do arrowheads, I do not understand why we cannot have a basic arrowhead in AD. Maybe management needs to think about hiring a new developer? Or instead of trying to implement arrowhead utopia, they could just give us what we can get with Preview. For heavens sake, its already baked into OSX.

Similar to your situation, my use case involves a lot of technical and marketing illustrations and arrowheads are required in nearly everything I do. And likewise, I never seem to be abe to use AD for anything useful. In fact, I use Autodesk Graphic for all my illustrations these days. Apologies for the criticism.

I am astounded at how complex features are added on month after month, and there are no arrowheads. There is something weird about this, did someone in the management once make a (drunk) bet that s/he would make an Illustrator competitor without arrowheads?

I am a scientist and there is no way that I can regularly use a vector graphics program in my work, if it does not have arrowheads. Given the apparent attitude of the developers towards this topic, I come to this forum, actually this particular post, to only learn lessons about sociology (wow, the aggression of people with nothing at stake in this discussion, railing at users asking for a standard feature).

I loved the program when it came out, have never used it for anything useful, and it looks like that's how it's going to remain. A waste of my money and time.

    @ Hokusai
There is nothing megalomanic in posting the truth, the fact that there is no viable work-around for 'true' arrowheads, in a form usable as obviously many want and even need to use them. There is no need for "In my opinion", "I think", or "To me" when stating what many others have, in your own words,  already stated since the beta version of Affinity Designer.
It could be argued that in life there is a 'work-around' for almost everything but that is not a valid reason for them to have to exist, or be used, in anything where they should be expected to exist as a basic, even essential, component.
If anyone, including the very silent development team, can think of, or even give an anywhere near possible reason why they did not exist from the start, or why they have not been added already then I will from that point on stop reading this thread and continue to (impatiently) await their introduction.
As a Serif 'devote' I do not mean to 'belittle' in any way the Affinity development team, who have done fantastic work, but it is not good practise to leave your customers, many of them new to using Serif products and whose business you have been 'fighting for', trying to "guess about their reasons for the omission" of something that to many is obviously an essential part of the program (app).
My only "guess" is that Designer's original concept was as an 'Artistic' program (app) with no thought for those of use who have a more 'practical' use for it........ and who, with (some) respect, may not have the time to keep finding and using work-arounds.
Nor is it good business practice to tell your customers when they are continuously and vociferously asking for something "you will get it when we are (good and) ready", without giving a valid reason for the delay, or a realist time for when the omission will be rectified.
If in my 40 years in sales and marketing I had told a new customers when they asked why an essential component had been missed to "find a work-around for yourself", our "you will get it sometime in the unspecified future" then that customer would not, in a highly competitive market, have been a customer for very long.
    That is my opinion.

Lets be honest with each other here and stop with all this "fake news". There is currently no viable workaround for arrowheads in Designer. The so called "workarounds" mentioned are not in anyway useful or acceptable. Moreover, anyone who thinks these so called workarounds are useful has either no use for arrowheads, does not use arrowheads or is being dishonest to try and prioritize their own feature requests. It's about time Serif addressed this long standing feature request.

Arrow heads in progress... This is what I hear since two years. Very frustrating. Here is a little list of software that allows drawing arrows just to see with what AD still cannot compete:

    Inkscape
    Gimp
    OmniGraffle
    Paint2 (!)
    EazyDraw (!!)
    and PowerPoint

and I know that PowerPoint is no design software, but imagine that even horrendous Microsoft "software" offers this simple feature.
Please, if there is a most wanted list, I am pretty sure this topic should be somewhere on top. Please make it happen for us guys who are not simply drawing beautiful colorful pictures. Cheers.

@ronniemcbride: Well, it is a pretty basic feature. And if you need a lot of arrows for a diagram, making them one by one and adjusting the size and direction of the arrowheads on a path is kind of annoying. Nobody is using AD just for arrowheads - but they are the one, repetitive part of my workflow that is annoying in AD and easier in pretty much every other program right now. So it would be great to see them added!

Also, there is a huge opportunity for Affinity in the scientific/medical/education communities, precisely for the reason you mention - I don't need anything of great complexity (Illustrator is overkill and AD is much more intuitive to use), but I need a way to easily create clean diagrams combining images, labels, arrows and clean vector graphics to convey ideas, processes, research results etc. AD fills that hole perfectly at a very affordable price.

    Cheers, Oliver.
