I'm now a proud owner of AP as well, after I bought - and fell in love with - AD a few weeks ago. I might not use the program that often in the near future as my focus lies more on AD at the moment, but for that price with the release offer, I had to take my chances. ;)

Affinity Designer for Windows has launched!
JokeRat replied to TonyB's topic in News and Information
Congratulations to your milestone release. I bought my copy 3 days ago. I wanna thank all of you guys for this masterpiece of software. I know this sounds silly but I'm so happy right now as it is a joy to work with AD. Don't get me wrong, there is still quiet a few potential to optimize the programm ;P but it's already sooo good. And I hope Affinity will disrupt the 'de facto' monopol status of a certain graphic software developer in a major way. :P @Affinity crew: You're wizards! -
As I can't edit my previous entry: What are the reasons for your partners to exclude countries like Switzerland and Norway from the shipping? Because they are highly risky countries to do business with?

Okay, I gave it one last try (despite the hassle and much higher price) and tried to order it via amazon.de with the same result. No shipping to Switzerland. Now I'm fed up. I'm sorry to say, but keeping quiet a few potential customers 'out of the game' because of some weird restrictions of your retail partners isn't the right way to go, in my humble opinion. From my point of view you, you've chosen the wrong partners. I know that I might be only one little voice here but as it seems I'm not the only one that is dissapointed.

@Patrick Connor: I have the same problem. Tried with Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version) and IE (v11). JS is on. OS is Win7. Too bad, I'd loved to order the book.

ZBrush equivalent, please! :)
JokeRat replied to davemac2015's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Huh? Some 3D-based functionality for a 2D-vector/photo software? Doesn't make much sense, does it? Don't get me wrong, I think Zbrush is fantastic but let's keep it in the 3D sector, no? -
This looks fantastic, Rosie! Especially nice since owls are one of my favorite animals. Thanks for sharing. Do you mind to tell us a bit more about the process you did them? What brushes did you use, did you do it digital only or did you start to sketch on paper first? Anyway, I'd love to see more of your work. :)

What I DON'T want in APhoto
JokeRat replied to bizbeblu's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Nice insights, Ben. Thanks for that! I'd love to read more about developing challenges and such things. -
I can't recall the original image exactly, but the highlights on the skin are a bit strong, aren't they? (they are as white as the white of the eyes) But it looks fantastic, that's for sure!

Sorry if this is a somewhat stupid question, but what does that effect do? Can't you just select the background/elements and add a 'gaussian blur' effect to it?
-
To give a more serious reply to this: It looks great David. I like the colors and how everything looks like it has like a darkening layer on it. PS: I'm a sucker for the noise effect lately. :)

Serif/Affinity shot chimps into space? :o ;)

Yeah, that was the only thing that gave it away for me. :)

Why didn't that cross my mind? D'oh! This is kinda embarrassing. :D Thank you retrograde. Much appreciated.

Wow, that looks great retrograde! I really dig your style. And I even learned two new things here. :O About the color picker: There should really be an indicator (like that the cursor will change to a picker), because first I thought that option/alt doesn't anything for me. And about rotating: is there a shortcut or key-mouse-combination for rotating the canvas?

Wow, that looks fantastic. I'd never expected it to be a vector graphic. very well done, cjclip!

I vote for the third too. It's more sinister to me as it's not as clearly visible (as bleduc already mentioned) and that creates tension. It might be different if they eyes would be less human (monster eye, or something like that), then i might go with the first one too. But that might miss the whole theme/topic of the book of course.

Hey Callum. Thanks for your answer. It's interesting that people were posting in wrong sections by product. I'd rather expect it to be in the wrong subforum by topic (for example: general question, rather than 'feature request') as that is the part where I stumble a little sometimes too. But I understand your point of course. Maybe it's just me. :) It's nothing that bothers me to death, I was just throughing in the thought and see if others had the same experience.
-
I'm a member of this forum for a few days now and I am a anonymous reader for a while and there something that bothers me quiet a bit: pretty much all the subforums are not separated by product (designer/photo) which makes it very difficult to recognize the relevance of a post for me or a certain product. Wouldn't it be much more convenient to get separate subforums for each product in the main areas (like tutorials, for example) or at least giving each thread a praefix (like [AD],[AP]) by having the OP selecting the coresponding product when opening a new thread? You kinda already did that within the beta-support, why not on the other subtopics? ps: i didn't know where to put this question, as it is more forum relevant than product.
