Pining got a reaction from esaramago in Copy/paste slice or edit all slices -- is this possible?
I'm creating a font using Affinity Designer and I have to export each letter individually, this could be done easily but I need the slices to be 256x256 in their dimensions. Right now the only ways I know how to do this is by either dragging and creating a lot of 256x256 slice squares or by turning each letter object into a slice but then I would have to rescale those as well!

It would be really useful if there was a way to just copy drag a slice, or being able to edit the transform of multiple selected slices. Am I missing something or is this really not possible?

...which probably means I've screwed up the translations in the last couple of builds then... ahem...

Bri-Toon, isn't the first behaviour you describe caused by having Show selection in layer panel checked in Preferences > User Interface?

It would be great to be able differentiate between the fill and stroke selector while using the Color Picker. Quite often I find myself applying a stroke color when I want a fill. Maybe a small cursor overlay or something would do the job.

    Status: Beta Release
    Purpose: New features, fixes
    Requirements: Purchased Affinity Designer
    Mac App Store: Not Submitted
    Download: Here

This beta version represents a substantial change to our codebase and as much as we have tried to ensure the quality of the code, it should be considered to be not suitable for production use. This means that you should not attempt to use it for commercial purposes or for any other activity that may be adversely affected by the application failing. In addition it is definitely worth noting that files created in Affinity 1.6 may not open in 1.5 so always make a copy of your important documents before opening them in 1.6 to ensure you do not accidentally overwrite them and are unable to open them in your 1.5 version.

To use this beta, simply download the file from the link given above and double-click on the file to open the installer. Follow the instructions to install the beta version. The beta sits alongside the Mac App Store version and will not interfere with it.

    Fixes/Improvements:
Further Light UI improvements Added 'Lock'/'Unlock'/'Unlock All' and 'Hide'/'Show'/'Show All' menu items with shortcuts Fixed many symbol bugs and crashes Fix for PDF/EPS export of large rasterised areas causing visible gaps on occasions Fix for Gray8 format documents failing to draw as intended Fix for crash when copying artboards that contained symbols with text inside Fix for crash when moving compound objects inside constrained containers Fix for slices and guides not drawing correctly sometimes after a pan/zoom Custom pixel brush wet edges Fixed inability to hold shift and click in brush tools to create a straight line Fixed inability to load Procreate PSD files Localisation improvements
    * Please note that macOS Sierra has a bug in Metal with AMD graphics cards which means colour correction will not function perfectly, hence why it is disabled by default. If you have an Intel or Nvidia card then feel free to try it. This bug was fixed in High Sierra so all cards should work as expected  :)

Okay so I have been looking for what could possibly be the cause and so far I've consistently got my macbook fans to start spinning when I'm drawing rectangles and having snapping enabled. This doesn't happen in OpenGL view (or at least not as bad).  With snapping off everything seems to be alright, maybe metal doesn't like to draw the snapping lines if that makes sense? I've been drawing rectangles for like an hour or so and so far I'm convinced snapping is the only thing causing it, not artboards or number of objects per se (need things to snap to though I think?).

Hero do you have the same issues when having snapping disabled?

I have attached a workfile but I don't think it matters all that much, this one is just a bunch of rectangles for testing.

Added a screenshot of my specs, I don't have 'Use integrated GPU only' checked as my macbook has no discrete videocard. The grid only shows on all artboards (incorrectly) when view quality is set on nearest neighbour and Metal is enabled. Seems like there is no connection between macbook heating up and enabling grids as the same happens without grid now I checked it out more, only on Metal though.

This describes my experience as well. Hope it can be sorted out for the next build
