This is a feature that would be very useful to me too. Regularly processing tens of thousands of aerial images, and affinity does good things with raws pretty quickly (would be nice to see batch working more reliably and more use of GPU too, but parallel processing is very effective on my system)

This is also needed for smart object compatibility in order to import mock-up templates correctly.
And need to be applicable to embedded documents too.

Is in your plans allowing programmers to control the affinity programs with code? Like commands/actions in Python, C# or Javascript? Preferibly Python or C#.

So we programmers can develop commands/actions that people can install or run to execute certain tasks.

I need a definitive answer to this, to see if it's worth waiting for it, or a definitive NO!

Even though, ordering the newest artboard on top and exporting the first created one (bottom of the stack) first, makes absolute sense and is logical, it would help if the artboards were numbered through, starting with the bottom one and counting upwards — maybe with the counter number in brackets, independent from the name of the artboard and unchangeable (always updating when moving artboards in the layers off course). Displaying these numbers in an additional column in the layers palette could be optional. Would help greatly in seeing the export order for those who use the artboards as pages in multipage documents.

I think I arranged the artboards top to bottom to ensure they would print in that order - so I inadvertently created the problem myself. I have rearranged the artboards on the layers panel and the print order is now correct.

Wooww.. Even they been updating it, still dont have a lot of essentials features in both (photo and designer). I have to use 2 softwares for make some designs and sometimes sucks, just cause designer dont have some features..

I agree with Nikola and Aammppaa. Preferences is mostly an intellectual mess and takes too many clicks to find the right category. And there are not even that many settings right now. Imagine what will happen as they grow with future versions! Put a simple list of categories on the left that shows the options on the right. One click!

I would like an Affinity DAM, damn it!!

Adding the suggested improvement, to update bitmaps in Designer would be great. Linking in Publisher cannot practically replace  updating in Designer.
In Designer I am placing bitmaps behind digits: that works fine (except for the updating option) But when doing this in Publisher: First adding the designer picture with the digits then trying to place images behind the  digits, there are no more separated digits, just one picture and the bitmaps will be placed after the complete designer picture, the separated digits don't exist as digits anymore...

I tough I was missing something, but it seems to be an improvement opportunity for the Affinity Suite. This option has been included on Affinity Publisher (as a linking option) and it will be awesome to have it in the rest of the programs.

Just a thank you for a sane licencing agreement. Have a couple of kids home thanks to coronavirus, and being able to load Designer on their computers and let them learn and be creative is awesome, and a good long-term strategy on your part. I switched from Adobe in part because of their increasingly restrictive licensing, and I am moving students to Serif platforms as well. No question, just a "thank you."

Adding a "Update" button so the embedded document updates.

I use Photo the most, because I can work both with vectors and rastered images and use all the pixel editing tools, also Photo has Live Filters.
But, when I want to mount everything in artboards in Designer, and I embed my assets, they don't auto-update, or at least there is no update button. Having to click on Replace Document, find the document, click ok, in order to update changes is not practical.

Auto-update would be even better but it's optional.

In what version we're finally getting the Trace Bitmap? It has been promised before.

Also, I want to request a feature to create a vector shape/path from a selection. Thank you for all the work done, really appreciate all the developers hard work, as a developer/programmer myself.
