same problem here with EOS M50 raw CR3, and waiting for the support.
this new raw file CR3 support now 14bit and compress raw file

As of last night I was still unable to open .CR3 files created with the recent Canon EOS R. Quite disappointing as fellow users have pointed to the issue long ago and the forum moderator doesn't look much interested in providing swift support. Time to abandon Affinity and switch to another editor? Have to seriously consider...

I'm waiting too, I received my new Canon M50 last week and it's horrible to convert every picture to edit it in Affinity Photo on my Windows computer.
