    Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning the paragraph composer or whatever it's called in APu.

In Czech, and I guess in other languages too, it is considered ugly and bad practice to leave single-letter words at the end of the line, especially in the case of prepositions, which then get separated from their main word. Is there any setting I can apply to make APu work this way? I can of course manually (or maybe in the Search bar quasi-automatically) fill in the &nbsp, but that's very laborious and time consuming. Could you introduce an option for this to be a standard behaviour?

    Thanks for any answer!

Try this in Find/Replace via Regular Expression:

    Find:
    (\b[\l\u]\b)\h

    Replace:
     $1
(behind 1 add nonbreaking space Alt+Space bar on Mac)

    or

    Find:
    (\<[szkvaiouSZKVAIOU])[ ]+

    Replace:
     $1
(behind 1 add nonbreaking space Alt+Space bar on Mac)

With these simple hatching styles you can hatch your vector objects in Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. Affinity Publisher Beta seems not working yet (previews looks strange on my machine).

With the red styles you can easily change the color of the hatching while using an adjusment layer recolor.

    Keep on drawin'

    Thank you, it's amazing!

    Hey all!

Does Affinity Publisher have an equivalent to a "book" file where I can string multiple documents together for rendering into full fledged PDF for print? I'm working on a graphic novel and I'm not keen on the idea of creating one massive super document when I can have a way to organize and see the entire project without having every chapter open.

Here's an example (and link) from someone else's work online of an indesign book for reference: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/vdcek7LPAH8/maxresdefault.jpg

The feature of the „Book“ in Affinity Publisher was mentioned by Andy in the article here: https://affinityspotlight.com/article/creating-the-affinity-publisher-workbook/

    Hi.

It looks like the problems lies in the file path to the Profiles folder. In the updated version it is now /Users/Me/Library/Containers/Affinity Photo/Data/Library/Application Support/profiles and not /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ as in the older versions. You can use File -> Import ICC Profile in the Photo Persona to import your profiles: this will put them in the correct folder.

    Biff

Bingo! You saved my life! :) THX

This would be a REALLY great idea!
Especially, when the profile can't be installed (or maybe I'm too dumb for this...).
I'm on a Mac with Big Sur (it's an old MacPro from 2013 so no, it's not an M1).

On my system there ist FOGRA 52 installed but I cannot choose this profile within Publisher.

    Please see attached file.

Just emergency solution. You can copy the needed profiles straight into Resource folder and restart Publisher. It works for me.

    Andy...

In response to your comment about Studio Presets – it would be extraordinarily confusing to have a preset update itself when a change is made. In my mind (and only mine, for now), what good is a preset if it is that fluid? To me, the whole idea of a preset is that I can come back to it at any time; in that scenario, it should be stable (in the sense of not updating itself).

Also, how would I ever make a second preset? If I start at my default studio, add and subtract and move around studio panels, then create another preset, it seems I would have 2 presets that have become the same. The only way to do this would be to create the second preset at the beginning and then start changing things. To me (again, this is only me for now) this is the exact opposite of what I would expect.

Obviously, your game and your rules. But I think you'll get more traction (and user acceptance) if the studio presets don't update themselves.

Totally agree and I prefer not selfupdating preset, please.
