  1. I am 'not sure' about using a 'Macro' to convert/develop your RAW file a number of times to give you what you want. If not the you will have to develop from scratch for each of your levels. Also the 'Develop' Persona will convert your image to a file type of your choice - it does not develop to a RAW. RAW has to be developed to be seen and be adjusted outside the Develop Persons. The RAW file is entirely digital and needs a reader to be 'seen' - you cannot print a RAW file hence your selected image not being RAW. It must mean that you have selected sRGB as the target file type.
  2. No. Your file type after development is shown as sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Where you intending to develop your RAW file into this sRGB one?
  3. Understood. Thank you. I will give both a go over the weekend and report back. Thank you again.
  4. I have not. Always tried to keep things as simple as possible. Having file types converted just seems wrong and the Fuji software is IMO disasterous!
  5. I have been a 'photo' user for some time and am happy in general with the performance&usage. Of late, however the following things have begun to annoy. My usual workflow is open RAF file (from Fuji X-T2), develop as required (including cropping), minor adjustments post developing and signing. Export using export from document dropdown. 1-opening RAF time is exceptionally long (always has been but now getting on my nerves. 2-cropping in 'develop' occasionally leads to freezing (un-responsiveness, force quit & relaunch) 3-signing (unless image 'flattened first) instant freezing as above. Comment:- (1) has been with us for a long time with promises of improvement still not being fulfilled. (2) the develop part of this has never (imo) been stable and cropping is not the only action that can cause problems both in develop but also, I am told, later in adjustments? Again these gremlins have only been present since moving to Fuji. I doubt asking Fuji to change their code is going to get a positive response so I guess it is Affinity Photo that must learn to play more effectively. (3) this is the reason for this post.Unless I 'flatten' an image the signature writing is a freezer. Thats three (or more) little gripes. Is it just the Fuji usage or me or All of the above? Anyway. Will an update help clarify the picture? Using 1.6.7 at the moment. Regards Sharkey
  6. Trying to write a 'Macro' for bulk conversion of jpegs prior to upload to website. I have been able to create all the steps except the signature. This is not a 'watermark' overlay just the placing of my pre-made signature onto and then flatten100 to infinity of images;-) Everyone has been very helpful to me so far and I would like to thank you al, especially any that I forgot to thank individually - memory downgrade due to age and - well another story. Example below is ©. Regards Sharkey
  7. OOOOOPS! Understand ppi v pixels Dyslexia and high functioning Autism make for funny bed fellows!
  8. Thank you 'toltec'. RC-R. I do really appreciate that you know what you are writing about, I really do. BUT - I do not understand a word of it - sorry. Only question now is how do I blend the toy into the original image?
  9. A quick question. I have a jpg of a dog. I want to put a toy in front of the dogs nose. Yhe toy image is a png from the web and far too large. What is the workflow to achieve this. ? The result must be of a quality to be posted online again - full size on webpage. Normal jpeg posts are 1920 ppi longest side at about 500kb.. thank you
  10. very kind of you - can you let me know the result - if fixed?
  11. the affect seems now to be more erratic. one file from a shoot opens and another does not? confused as usual. perhaps best to just keep going and see if Sierra update/ FRV updates and Affinity updates finally sort it. thanks for trying. Sharkey

  13. The screen shot is how many of my files, browsed and opened from FRV are opening in Affinity Photo 1.6. They open the same way from Finder or off my desktop. Pixelmator and Photo open them OK.. but if I try and open in Affinity from Photo I get the failed image. Any suggestions. At the moment I am managing to edit what is needed in Pixemator but cannot continue as workload rises.
  14. My problem also. On a Mac - no fire wall active. Just no response from reset request and not accepting a long time password.
  15. I have been trying to claim the extras but server just keeps rejecting my password/email combination. Tried resetting password/rebooting etc etc but no joy. Is it system overload? Or what.
  16. Appreciate the responses but the problem seems to me not my choice of using FRV and Affinity but AP being unable to handle the Raf files. As I said using 10mb jpegs AP is a dream to use. 50Mb Nikon files pretty much fly but with the Raf - sluggish is an understatement. It is typical for me to choose a software just before changing my camera and for them to work - ish just when I need them to really "work". Oh well, my fault I guess. Cannot be anyone else. The fact that I love the Fuji and Love AP just means it must be a disaster - right?
  17. My first two day shoot and 1200 images in Raf. Culling not bad using FRV buy AP not good enough for bulk editing Raf. files. V Very slow at most things. Used iFoto Convertor in the end to get jpegs/signed from 200+ Raf. files. AP handled the few jpegs edits I needed and obviously posting was no problem for our super site. If I just shot jpegs (hi quality) it would not be much of a problem but the grinding lack of speed with the Rafs. is soul destroying. As the number of shoots will only increase (theres confidence for you) I am thinking of using an available CC licence that has been offered to me Gratis.. This will mean going back to my MacPro.. My backup at the shoot took nearly 2000 shots and finished her editing a full day ahead of me. She shoots large jpegs on Nikons, but a whole day??? Thoughts anyone. Will Serif sort the slow Raf handling or will I have to, unwillingly, return to Adobe for the foreseeable future? Not happy bunny - money spent and may have to go backwards to get the job done. Back to Adobe that is. Regards. Sharkey ps:- not meant to be a shock horror post - just sayin!
  18. Thank you again Carl. Because it will eventually be quite a small print I have managed with the Clonetool. I will research a little more later. Thank you
