Can I suggest you take a look at “Mir Rom” videos on “YouTube. He is a prolific producer of composite videos. He uses Photoshop but most of what I’ve seen is transferable to Affinity Photo. He has a great sense of imagination when compositing so you might find these useful when looking for inspiration.

My four penith it’s here. I use ‘Everweb’ for Mac. It’s a very competent web design piece of software. Go to their website, there is a very good library of videos and templates if you find them useful. This software is capable of producing simple, right through to complex websites. You need to take a look at their website to truly see to power of this software as there is too much to say here and you don’t have to be a code nerd and it does all the background coding for you. They also have a very good support system as well.

AP will give you most of what you will need as an amateur photographer. I wouldn’t agree AP is set up for artists actually as AP is an all inclusive piece of software for both the photographer and artist/designer. Improving your workflow will be something you will gain the more you use the software and begin to understand its capabilities. Affinity does provide a substantial help base and video tutorial library which should help improve your workflow. best wishes

Hi LerwaZorz I have a Huion1060P tablet on OS Mac which works fine right across the system. Tablet works just fine with Afinity Photo. Not sure if this was your question but hope it helps. Not sure I would have admitted Piracy but glad you have bought AP as Piracy was a major factor in Adobe turning to subscription.

Hi just to add my 4 penth here, I use a Huion 1060p. This has pressure sensitivity and short keys. I would recommend looking at the Huion website and reading the specs etc. I bought mine from Amazon awhile ago after looking at all alternatives and costs and it works just fine in all software etc and has been very reliable. It’s also very competitive on price.

That's actually not true, Flood 2 does not work on Mac properly either. App starts up and functions to some degree but the preview and end result is broken same as manu01 states...unless you know something I don't. I run on a 2017 27" imac with MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3. Are you saying you have it running ok on MacOS?

As I said earlier in this post, I have tried many times to contact Flaming Pear both by email and even tried sending a typed letter direct to their address. To date I have never received a reply which seems to be what others have found, maybe they have simply just given up support for this app, or maybe Flaming Pear entirely. Not being able to get any response out of them is frustrating. I used to think it was just me but I know many others have not been able to make contact. At the moment it's a useless piece of software.

Customer Betas asking for Product Key? (split)
Raymondo replied to Raymondo's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
Hey presto Jeremy, worked a treat! Decided to not wait for Patrick and follow your example and all’s well. Thanks again for heads up. -
Customer Betas asking for Product Key? (split)

Maybe not a bad idea Jeremy. Got an ongoing discussion with Patrick from Serif on the subject, if he doesn’t offer an alternative solution, I will do what you’ve done. Thanks my friend for info. -
Customer Betas asking for Product Key? (split)
Raymondo replied to Raymondo's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
Yep Walt! All applications are located in the application folder, the retail and beta versions are sitting right next to each other in the applications folder so no obvious reason for the beta version not to recognise the retail version. -
Customer Betas asking for Product Key? (split)
Raymondo replied to Raymondo's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
All three are latest full versions. It says to use validation key or go to Mac App Store but at this moment in time, I don’t see any beta version to download in the App Store. I could be missing something of course but right now I don’t see any beta download option. -
Preset
Raymondo replied to Raymondo's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Just an update to the above, version 1.9 of AP still doesn’t seem to respond to pen gestures, this time in LUTS adjustment. I have the latest updates for the tablet (Huion 1060P) and have tried setting to mouse mode. Still nothing. As I have said I don’t use presets very much but I do use LUTS. As the tablet works fine in all other respects and other software, I can’t work out why this issue is arising. You can tap as many times as you like, the presets won’t work unless I resort to the old mouse click. I’m pretty sure I’ve exhausted everything my end, any ideas team why this issue exists and has anyone else had this problem. It’s quite possible of course that I’m overlooking something simple. At the end of the day I won’t lose sleep over it but I have always problem solved, being quite savvy where computers and software is concerned, and do like to get to the bottom of issues but this one is proving problematic to resolve. -
Adobe Bridge Alternatives
Raymondo replied to Shae Redding - Rogers's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
For Mac users, have you tried “Neofinder” or “Pixave”. I use these to catalogue and organise all assets. -
Not sure I can help here but have you tried opening a new document and see if you get tools etc then. From your screen shot I can’t see if you have a document open. Also what version are you running? Try going to “customise tools” not “customise toolbar” and try dragging each tool over to the far left and see if they show then. Try unticking also the toolbar menu’s and tick again. These suggestions are all I’m afraid a shot in the dark but you often find issues like this turn out to be something silly, god know’s over the years I’ve had my moments. If you’re not running the latest version, 1.8.6, I suggest you do that first. I’m assuming you have a paid version so you would be able to also download the beta version which may end your problem.

Clearly the windows version appears to work now then but doesn’t work with latest Mac version 1.9.0.209. I would suspect Flaming Pear have not updated the app to work with Mac OS Catalina and Big Sur like other apps have done. Trouble is they don’t respond to feedback. For me it’s not a big deal as I don’t use it that much, it’s just annoying that it’s something you’ve bought and can’t use....that’s life.
