Hey mikerofoto, I'm not sure what version I have, I think it's the last free update there was for Nik. My Viveza is working in Luminar. Like I said before, I'm trying not to use Nik, but it's nice to know it will still work for now if I want to use it.
I wonder if you can run old nik and new nik together until things get resolved?????
I kept the old Nik plugin folder and created a new one for the Nik by DxO, but when you install Nik collection, it overwrite the old one.

and is viveza working well with you? the colors are correct?
Viveza colours are still wrong and HDR won’t load your image with AP 1.7
Viveza don’t work neither in Luminar, so it seem to work only in Ps or as stand alone unless you have PL2.
-
I wish Luminar Flex would work as plugin for AP but doesn’t, not sure why they released that version as it didn’t even get their last update accent AI 2.0

Look at the “U” red magnet symbol on the top toolbar.

Reinstall Nik collection and during process make sure you send the plugin to the same folders you already use with AP, the fonts issue was fixed by doing this.

This has been passed over to the developers to look into.

Looks like it's assuming longest edges marry up. On a side note, can you use Shift (⇧) + O to cycle orientation?
I know 'O' cycles the overlays but I also found that Command (⌘) + O cycles through the overlays but doesn't display them until you release the Command (⌘) key.
The point isn’t to get a rotation, but why by default it doesn’t snap to edges (long not short) so you don’t have to zoom out to reach the crop corner.
-
Same here, AP Staff.... would that be possible to get it snap to edges by default?

The NIK collection v2 works except for HDR it is the original NIK collection that has issues.

So everything works for you, including HDR Efex 2 & Viveza 2 without any of the color issues @MEB mentioned?
haven't tried HDR and viveza, never got the idea of using 1 image only for HDR, viveza always been..., maybe I should check how it run, colours probably still wrong =)
but MEB said there was still issues with HDR and Viveza.
* tried HDR and Viveza and nope, still not usable for me, viveza got wrong colours with sRGB and HDR open but doesn't load image.

Are you using the Nik collection 2?
yep. Nik by DxO V2
i did reset all AP setting to default and unfortunately it did nothing to fix the updating fonts, which was time consuming to reinstall all brushes, palettes .....
so I decided to reinstall the nik released yesterday and during installation, boom, where to install plugin, click the plus button and go select the same folder you had already setup for AP and it worked, been editing with AP and Nik all morning and no issue with Dfine, Collor efex, sharpener pro output sharpener and silver efex, haven't tried viveza.

Are you a Windows or Mac user? From what I have read, the NIK plugins from DxO are not compatible with the Mac version of Affinity Photo at all.
Mac user, and its working. too easy to just click to install and forgot to install the plugin in the right folder.
actually did upload 2 images taken with AP running latest Nik in another thread.

Hi All,
This is a known issue unfortunately its in DXO's hands to fix and not ours. You can find out more info here:
Thanks
Callum
why is it working fine now then? all I did is during the installation making sure I install the plugin the the same folder that AP was already linked to. see both image I just uploaded, no more uploading fonts screen.

So you say you use a more actual DxO NIK release on your Mac and don't suffer from the Aph 1.7 Plugin problems others have now reported from. - Interesting, but it maybe due to the fact that the latest DxO versions are probably also build with newer Xcode versions then, since those need/support at least MacOS Sierra and upwards. In contrast here the older Google NIK builds are not that up to date in terms of Xcode generated/code build compatibility.
it work for me, fault was pointing the installation of plugin in the right folder, installing the new Nik update overwrite the old version, installing the "plugins" during the update in the same folder that AP was already linked fixed it.
here's 2 attachment of one image in analog effect and the other in colour effect
* I clicked the icon just to show the version of Nik, if you think the "updating fonts" is hiding behind I can upload another image without the Nik version stamp on it.

I did had this issue and it got fixed by reinstalling the Nik by DxO but, in the installation process I had forgotten to install the plugin in the same folder that was linked with AP plugin. So make sure you install the plugin in the same folder, done, work like before.

That confuses me now, how is your plugin installment location related to the common "Updating Fonts" problem?
Plugin in AP setting are in my NikbyDxO folderin my application folder, I guess during installation first time I forgot to select install in that folder and ended up with that problem with the lupdating fonts”, I reinstall Nik by DxO but plugin folder with the right one and now it work. You’ll have to ask a programer for more details explanation. My guess is because installing the new version overwrite the old one, and the plugins were installed by default to another folder so it got AP bugged up trying to run the plugins from a wrong folder.
-
Go in top left apple icon, app store, updates, you’ll see you have an update for AP.
-
problem solve, kind of stupid but....
when you install the Nik collection, in the install process make sure you set where the plugins are going. duh!
work like a charm. sorry that human mistake.
-
reset Fonts in the Preferences menu doesn't change anything, i even reset AP and reinstalled all brushes and palettes and macros, took a while and still have that updating Fonts problem.
Mac user here.
-
did the new update for AP and it is stuck to this, even going in the setting trying to result the Fonts won't work and I need to force quit.
anyone else having this issue or is it just me and I'll have to reset everything?
thanks

Little detail here =)
Look at the photo persona symbol, 1.6 is triangle and 1.7 is square, that’s a quick way to difference them.

Check this thread

Luminar run as plugin for Lr, Ps and iPhoto, not AP. So you can use Luminar then save as .tiff to be open in AP.
Flex is just Luminar 3 without catalog and haven’t got the latest AI luminar 3 update, why can’t they just add a check box so users can choose having catalog or not... too complicated maybe.
you guys read that “iPhoto” =)
