Just wanted to share a recent commission I finished a couple of days ago using Affinity Photo and a couple of custom brushes. The Ad agency wanted to have something in the 80's horror movies fashion, with a couple kids fighting against each other during a roadtrip from hell. I really don't know what will be the final use for this, but I had lots of fun making this type of illustration. Any comment good or bad, will be welcome as always!

On the "Strokes" window there´s an option to scale the stroke with the object.

Actually I know pretty much about GPU and acceleration.
 
Affinity definitely use in some way a GPU acceleration otherwise the app would be crazy slow compared how responsive otherwise is.
What I was thinking all the time is that it looks like the texture uploading problem or something with LOD system that could have something to do with AMD drivers. My GPU have 8GB of VRAM .. so I cannot believe that id could not fit what I use .. so probably not the case.
 
The Warp setting just made the rendering slow and the lag was still there. 
 
It's definitely related to the images put into documents, the bigger the image the more lagging. 
To me it could be a bug.
 
The pictures that I use in the document should fit into VRAM with no problems yet still have lagging.
 
I there are plenty of people on this forum referring to this problem .. and few mentioned that they also had AMD card.
 
It is very important to notice this makes app unusable. I have to optimize my image use and resolution before doing anything and keeping a lot of separate documents. I have also noticed that since I started using snapshot function the lagging is now taking over a minute. 
 
Please somebody fix this.

Chintan, your questions are so comprehensive/complex and almost impossible to answer in a forum.
I would advise you to look at i.e Youtube and search for tutorials.
Most tutorials for Photoshop will be useful.

And the tutorials for Affinity are excellent. Scroll down to the Retouching section.

I'm another long time Adobe Photoshop (cough cough since version 1!)  and Illustrator user coming on board here. I've also been around since the early Pagemaker and Freehand days and it's nice to see some new great applications now. I primarily work on my own now and was happy to find some other options that didn't require large monthly payments. I've been pretty impressed with Photo and Designer and while I can see some features that will really help them get more robust they're off to an amazing beginning.
 
I've been slowly getting comfortable switching my creative workflow to only use the Affinity products. My first big project was a science / astronomy education site for young people that I created. All the illustrations and graphics were created with Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer with a few other supporting applications as well. The Universe from A to Z

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
No, Affinity Photo/Designer doesn't have an auto-tracing feature/functionality not is able to convert a pixel selection into a vector shape at the moment.
You will have to use a third party software for that like Image Vectorizer, Vector Magic, or Super Vectorizer 2. Inkscape (open-source) also includes tracing functionality.

AD is a breeze to use compared to the old and also very powerful, but clunky Adobe Illustrator. AD has it's flaws, but it is very well thought out. Keep up the great work guys and thank you!

Was just looking at the Affinity facebook page, and saw the teaser vid for brush stabilization. Yay! Big +. Delightful for those who do draw, even better for those who have trouble. I'm particularly wanting to see how the vector implementation goes. Line weight from pressure would be big ++.

(How) Can I from within Affinity Photo select an object, convert the selection into a path and c/p the path into Affinity designer?

here´s my first steps in Affinity Designer. I worked long times with CorelDesigner and with Affinity Designer i can work faster and had a lot more fun :). For the Atari 400 and Atari 800XL  i had a photo reference and for the Gameboy my SolidWorks 3D model exported as DXF. With CorelDesigner i converted it to PDF to import and edit in AD.

I just want to register that, after months trying to find a solution without sucess, I've solved my problem regarding the pressure sensitivity of my Wacom CTL-480 by upgrading my Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Just to let you guys know, I've got a screen with that resolution, a LG 29, and it's working just fine for me. I use windows 7 though.

Thanks for the report. :) If there are specific fonts with specific problems easily and freely available out there we should try and patch defensively against them. This may well highlight something that should be handled better in general.

Seems to be working fine on Affinity for Mac.
[EDIT] It does crash Affinity Designer on Windows. Issue logged to be looked at. Thanks for your help.

when you move a node of a curve consisting of smart nodes, the Bézier handles of adjacent nodes will be changed in order to create what you could call auto curvature (watch the green areas in my video). But when you move a node of a curve consisting of standard nodes, the Bézier handles of adjacent nodes will not be changed (watch the blue areas in my video).

Same here. I confirm that I didn't press Alt Gr. 
The error is not only on Shortcuts, but all the keyboard is off. Impossible to use arrow to move something. 
 
After a closing it's ok, it's working now.
