It has not (yet) been added to V2 but if you want to add your support for that, try the Feedback & Suggestions forum. Leaving a "+1" here in the Questions forum won't do much good since the developers as a rule do not follow topics here since that would take time better spent on actual product development.

About 10 Minutes, and I can do other stuff in parallel...

How long would you take to download and install about 40 applications?

I have one script that installs my software... I copy/paste it into a terminal window and at the end I have installed (almost) everything.
And for Affinity this may be trivial but there is software (especially nerd stuff for programming) that has a lot of dependencies. If you want to run application A you first need extension B, for extension B you first need the libraries X, Y and Z and so on... If you are using a package manager you don't have to think about that.
Also the software is easy removed without residues and I can update (almost) every piece of software on my computer with just one command
    Summary:
Easy install Easy uninstall Easy update No worries about dependencies

In this thread you ask for transferring data that have already been installed + modified and thus differ from an initial installer package, right?

R C-R got a reaction from stateazure in macOS "Recents" Folder not showing Affinity files
Nevertheless, using the mdls command in Terminal on an AD file I just modified & saved a few minutes ago with the  -name kMDItemLastUsedDate filter returns
... yet it is not listed in Finder's Recents 'smart folder' nor AFAIK is any other Affinity file.
Normal 'dumb' Finder windows like the one this file is in does show in the Date Modified field the current date & local time for that file, as does the Get Info window, but weirdly in both Finder & Get Info Created also shows that same date, not the date when I first created that file over a year ago.
In fact, according to mdls every item with a date/time value (there are 12 of them) shows that same 2023-12-18 19:41:46 value.
I have no idea what to make of all this!

Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that the default unit of measurement for PDF files is Points so I would have to say that Affinity apps are opening PDF files correctly by displaying points. If you wish to display the file using alternative units of measurement then it's a single click...

@firstdefence, just curious but in your YT example, is there any particular reason when you duplicated the vertical line at about 1:06 you repeatedly used CMD-J instead of the new in V2 Move Data Entry feature to interactively create the desired number of copies in one operation?

Sorry for having not been clear. It is an afpub file, part of a book, that I have been using normally until shortly before, than it no longer opens (I tried also CMD/O with the same effect). I tried either from inside the book, either from finder.
I get no error message; simply nothing happens. The workaround is to copy it, to remove the old file, and rename the copy.
I supposed that some hidden file could be present in the folder, but it isn't. I tried also to move the file in another folder, with no effect.
I am using the latest version of APab, with updated version of Sonoma, on a MacBookPro M2 with 16G RAM.
    Thanks

You can copy the directory that contains all those files. This FAQ tells you the location:

FWIW, it works the same on Macs, except with CMD rather than CTRL. I'm not sure if it is persistent but sort of surprisingly CMD-0 does not return it to the default, so it is not quite like a Mac browser in that respect.

The last time I checked, the in-app Help allowed Ctrl-+ to increase font size, just as a browser does for the online Help. That might provide an alternative to modifying the files

Affinity automatically considers colours to not match when their definitions are in differing colour models, therefore an RGB fill search will never find something that has an HSL fill, and vice versa.

No, they complain about both. For example, they have used a tool with certain parameters, then go to use it again, and the parameters have changed.

The app isn't bricked, bricked is where you try to patch low level code and screw it up so the device will no longer boot and function e.g. you can brick your Macbook, you can brick your iPhone, but you cannot brick an app.
The app is likely trying to do something with iCloud, you could try resetting the app by holding down the Control key and starting the app.

Affinity Publisher curently doesn't support variable fonts.

So then why not also - (minus) & all of the other applicable formulaic field expressions? AFAIK, support for that is already built into apps so it should not be too hard to add that to the move data fields -- IOW, add one & the others should come in for free, so to speak.

In the case of a catalog - an official document, I would expect some "visual culture", i.e. that the texts have some uniform style and format, as you have with Rec/Idx/Rev items. If each text is a different size and a different width, it doesn't look very "professional". Anyway, it's a bit weird :-), and personally I'd prefer a uniform style for all items.
