R C-R reacted to Gianni Becattini in APub book export regularly crashes on Mac Book Pro M2
Yes, you're right... but since many years, the virtual memory should swaps to disk and make the machine even infinitely slow... but never crash. One trillion years ago I wrote an operating system for a Z280 processor, a Z80 with Virtual Memory Manager, something that most people never heard... OK, sometimes it crashed, but I was not Apple and the Z280 was not an M2.
The application should not be aware of the available memory, it's an OS duty to make it transparent (besides speed).
I could bet that the crash is not due to memory but to something else. Future releases of APub or a future purchase of a fully-memorized M2 will tell us the truth...
However I fully agree with you, thanks

In V2, in the Character Panel, click the Collection box (typically showing "All Fonts").  From the list of Font Collections that is displayed, select "Missing Fonts").  Then click the down arrow on the right of the Font Family box.  It should then show the list of missing fonts.

This is in the Help file for the Character Panel:
    "About the Character panel
The Character panel is unique in providing the ability to:
List typefaces within particular collections (including Missing Fonts)."

That's for RAW development. Lens correction is also third-party, but would come from Lensfun, instead.

    Hi @angelfire
The printer must support borderless printing. This must be set in the printer's settings dialog. It should also be noted that most borderless printers are limited to certain paper formats. Usually A4/Letter and most common photo formats.

Make surei  Preferences > General "Save thumbnails with documents" is enabled, then open one of the files that does not have a thumbnail, do something that requires resaving it (like making an edit & then undoing it), & save it again.
Does the file now show a thumbnail?

I vaguely remember going into the (first?) NYC B&H shop back in the early days when it was tiny & crammed with shelves full of cameras & photo accessories with almost no room left to hold more than 10-15 people at the same time. Back then, there was of course no online presence but they had ads in all the major photo magazines for mail ordering just about anything photo-related you could think of.

You can use a Liquify Live Filter from the Photo Persona of the Photo application.
And there was a time when, in the Photo Persona of Publisher, you could also use the Liquify Live Filter, which is similar to using the Liquify Persona in the Photo application. But that was a bug because the Liquify Live Filter requires the Liquify Persona, which is only in the Photo application, and that bug has been fixed.
    For more,

The Navigator window shows the full width and the image or document appears to be in CMYK –> so it might be for print and as web-image for horizontal scrolling.
Instead I am wondering about the resulting preview in 100% zoom: While the notes at the bottom appear kind of lossless, especially the window of the image "EZ drums" and its interface text appear strange and far away from any idea of "lossless". This difference in export quality makes me wonder whether the picture "EZ drums" was a missing or modified image resource when the export was started, @Mr Lucky?

To give Artboard properties to a Curve/Curves/Shape object, use Layer > Convert Object to Artboard.

    It's not.
Is it entirely off of the Artboard, or is it partly on the Artboard and partly on the pasteboard? The latter (partly on, partly off) won't work.

R C-R reacted to Hangman in Photo Export how to make preview image bigger?
There is a long-standing bug in the Export Window, you need to ensure none of the text entry fields have focus before using the keyboard shortcuts. If you click in the Quality setting text entry field and then Tab out of the field you should find that Cmd 0, Cmd 2, Cmd 3 etc., then work as expected.

No, as the application itself creates and populates the user folder. All that is required for installation is that the app package itself is put in the proper location. When the application runs, it will create the user folder (and other folders that are needed for that user's data).
The main question from the OP is not about installation (which homebrew apparently handles) but about migration from one machine to a different one.

R C-R got a reaction from geneM in How to change 'set global opacity' keybindings in Affinity Publisher (Windows)
This is in part because unlike regular key bindings, they offer shortcuts for the full range of opacities in 1% steps. That is done by waiting briefly after one of the number keys is pressed to see if another one is pressed. If it is, then the second one becomes the second digit in the percent. So for example, pressing 1 immediately followed by pressing 2 sets opacity to 12%.
It's a clever idea in theory but in practice I think many of us, myself included, would prefer some way to disable it because it is too easy to hit a number key by accident.

The “Report” functionality is (mostly) there to allow users to report to the moderators that a particular post may be in breach of the forum guidelines – e.g. bad language, inappropriate content, etc.
The normal way to make a bug report, or feature request, is to create a new post in the relevant forum section, preferably with a link to the original discussion in the Questions section.
When this is done, it’s easier for all users of the forum to be able to see that a bug-report/request has been created which they can then track (follow) if they want to be kept up-to-date with any progress.
You haven’t done anything bad, I’m just giving information about how you might like to do it if you need to do so in the future.
