  1. Hello. I am using Affinity Photo. I have an image that has 2 objects in it. I want to cut these objects out of the image to remove the background. The Selection Brush Tool and Refine Selection option is not accurate enough to create and refine the selection boundary. I have created a closed curve around each of the objects in the image. Each curve is on a separate layer. Can I convert these curves to a selection so I can cut them out of the image? I have looked in the Help document and also viewed the videos on the Affinity website but cannot find any information regarding this type of task. Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers
  2. Thank you, I will look into your suggestions.
  3. Ahh Yes, thats right, I did mean Adobe Camera RAW, not bridge. Thank you.
  4. Hi. Sorry for the basic questions. I am new to RAW photography having only just got a Canon EOS 70D. 1. Is the Develop Persona meant to be the equivalent to Adobe Bridge i.e., non destructive RAW editing before going into Photoshop? 2. The work flow discussion above interests me. Is the idea that eventually AP will handle to whole process from initial development right through to photo manipulation wizardry and then export to finished requirements? If so, what would a good workflow be for RAW images if AP can be used as an all in one package? 3. My Canon camera came with DPP3 - Digital Photo Professional v3. This is the Canon supplied RAW development software. So this would be the equivalent of what some of the above posters were using when they said they converted their RAW images in other software before using AP? 4. Are there any Canon shooters here? If so, do you use Canon's DPP3 software or something else? Can I do better than Canon's own software for non destructive RAW development? Cheers and thanks for your time.
  5. Hello. I have an image I want to export and use on a website. I need to reduce it to a certain size. In choosing the export option I am presented with the dialogue box as seen in the attached image file. Questions: Which resample option is best? What does the Progressive check box do? Sorry for the very basic question. I have little to no experience with image editing and do not know terminology or workflow options. Thanks in advance.
  6. When I make a selection and choose the 'Refine' button I can use the refine brush feature to ask AP to look again at certain area's of the selection by painting over said area's. But what if I don't like what AP gives me as a selection? Is there an adjustment brush feature I can manually use to refine the selection? Or is there a way to adjust the mask after its made to pick up missed detail? Cheers.
  7. Thank you. No I did not specify a bevel. I have to follow that up. Maybe they have a 'Cut rubber stamp' preset or something they use that makes the bevel. We had a bit of an issue getting the exported EPS out of AD and into Corel Draw for the cutters. We have to do a couple more of these to get the design right so hopefully we will get the workflow sorted as well. Cheers.
  8. Sorry, I just had to adjust the size of the image for better viewing. Cheers.
  9. I used AD to create the art work needed to make this laser cut rubber stamp. :-)
  10. Thank you Dave. Yes the 99% opacity setting was not intended. Yes, the destination app was used to make corrections and we are good to go. I have not got to the bottom of destination app changing/seeing different stroke join/align options upon import. I have to submit a revision of the project mid Jan so will see if I can reproduce. Cheers.
  11. Hi Dave Harris. Thank you for your reply. I have been using public beta 1.0.21212. I have attached my AD file to the original post. A few things I noticed... 1. I exported an EPS two separate times from this file, one directly after the other. Both times produced something different in the finder view. Usually there is a preview of the file image. When exporting a file in v1.1.2 you get to see the whole image in the finder preview. With the public beta i got a partial image of the AD image (portions of the image were either missing or had been changed from black to white), and the second export gave me an EPS icon with no preview of my file. 2. I originally started in RGB but changed to CMYK in the document setup. The beta crashed twice when I started to change some of my colours using the CMYK sliders. 3. The EPS I am exporting is being opened in Corel Draw. When viewing the document from CD, some of the stroke join and align setting appear to have been changed i.e. a shape that ends in a sharp point ends up with a flattened cap. Cheers
  12. Exporting an EPS file is not working. Nother Trial copy.afdesign
  13. Option to set autosave to less than 300 seconds / 5min. Perhaps 60 seconds? Cheers.
